Hey everyone, I'm going to start us off early again. This way I can subscribe to the thread and my iPhone let's me know when one of you all have posted :)

Saturday, I did 4DS Bi/Tri only, then we had our "Thanksgiving". Sunday, I tried to make up for everything by doing 40/20....this never gets easier, does it? I had to pause several times and now my lungs hurt and I'm coughing....either it's from breathing so hard and so deep, or I'm getting sick (DH has been sick this last week). I added on Intensity Bootcamp 12 min add on---love that one. Not sure what tomorrow holds, unfortunately it holds going to work. I've enjoyed these last 5 days off and reading my Nook. All good things must come to an end :)
 
Hello! Today was STS TB, I liked it, it was different, I will have to play with the weights. Don't think I got them right. I did miss the longer break tho! Lisa, how was your holiday? Hope you don't get sick, I got a cold last week, still congested, it does make the workouts more challenging! Donne, how was London? Murphy, did you try all the new w/o's yet? I really need to start Christmas shopping. DH and I are going back to Vegas in 2 weeks. I need to make some lists! Lisa, when is your cruise? Talk to you tomorrow! Mary

40/20 then you added on?!! Are you completely mad??? :D No way, not for me. 40/20 is plenty, thank you very much.
You are Ms Gadget, aren't you? How impressive, getting an alert from your iPhone. I feel like I should make this more interesting! :p

Mary - London was great, thanks. Really enjoyed the tennis. Completely different to Wimbledon, it was all razzmatazz and showbiz whereas Wimbledon is all tradition.
Take it easy with the workouts if you've still got a cold. You don't want to prolong it.

Well, I just did Imax 3 step only premix yesterday. That's the November rotation finished. I'm taking a break from rotations for December, just going to do what I feel like. Today's a day off 'cos I went out for lunch. I just got my DVDs I ordered from Collage though, so I'll be previewing those and doing one of them tomorrow.

Good morning! Just did KPC, hadn't done that in a long while! Skipped the abs, don't tell! Ronne, what dvd's did you get? I love to watch w/o's, it relaxes me, weird, I know! I did lower body blast and is Cathe crazy with that band work? The only plus is that there were fewer reps - not that it hurt any less. I will probably leave the band alone for awhile. I did like the workout though. It somehow seemed "young". I cannot really explain.

Lisa - I too was wondering what a nook was and I too think you are a mad woman for adding on. I am trying to subtract and you are adding on - you have been around Cathe for too long. :) Send some energy my way.

Ronne - yeah, what dvd's did you get? I am still on the fence w/ Tracie Long's new stuff but I am sure I will break down and get it. I may wait and not do a presale, shipping is $10 so I am not really saving anything anyway.

hey girls! Today was Jari Love R&C, just the UB portions. I'm getting really fed up with work so decided to come here and vent, er I mean post. :)

Ronne, A nook is an eReader. So I'm reading electronic versions of books now. Checking them out from the library. The Barnes and Noble nook supports the format the library uses, the Amazon Kindle doesn't. I read 2 books over the long weekend and sorted out how to manipulate this thing. I got the alert about your post while eating breakfast this morning :) You're always interesting :)

Murphy, It was only a 12 min add on, but yes, I did feel crazy for doing it. I think my lungs hurt from sucking wind during my w/o. No cold, yet, knock on wood.

Mary, I went waaaay too heavy on all the deadlifts, about killed my back, others felt good although I'm not pushing to lift more these days.

Work is bothering me again....I'm beginning to wonder how long I will be able to stick it out. I'm about ready to walk out......how long will it take them to ax me if I just give up and not do anything......that is a VENT
 
Hi everyone! Just did the bike and the barre work from LBB, that was much different than I am used to! Lisa, did work ever get any better? Murphy, that band work was crazy! I kept falling over! So, spill the beans Ronne, what DVD did you do? Have to get the dog to the groomer, also need to get Christmas decorations out. Have a good day. Mary
 
Hello girls! Today I did 4DS HIS step only....was running short on time. Our furnace quit working yesterday so it's been very chilly in the house and I had a hard time getting out of the warm bed! It was a cold night and was 51 in the house when I woke up. I did prove that Cathe can make you sweat even when it's freezing in the house! Even with the fans I have in the workout room running!

Mary, yes, work did get better, thank goodness. I haven't done that bar work....guess it doesn't interest me? You are funny with the band work making you fall over! Did you mean the first part of the floorwork? I didn't like that part. The band work in STS TB I don't like and will skip through it next time. I can't bring myself to do the DVDs because of Cathe's squished appearance so I am doing it through iTunes on my iPod and going to the next chapter. These new workouts don't even work in the new workout mgr! I dare not bring up buying a new TV since NOW we have to buy a new furnace! We knew it would be going soon (it's 18 yrs old).

Murphy, maybe the workouts appear "young" because of the music?

Ronne, I've been doing 30 min workouts lately, for some reason you come to mind :)

Lisa - glad to hear that work got better, vent away! So how do you find using the nook compared to reading books? (Sorry, I have to say that I think the name is daft! :p) I think I'd miss the feel of books and I look at screens enough!

Mary - are you going to buy some new decorations? I think we might be in need of some this year. How was the barre work with your hips? Is it easier on them than weights?

Murphy - I'm so glad I didn't go for LBB, sounds like hell!

Well, I got the two new Michelle Dozois DVDs Peak 10 Cardio Strength and Cardio Burn plus Strike Zone from Tracey Staehle. I did the Cardio Strength one today. I had to sit down, I nearly felt sick! Talk about tough. I'm really going to have tone it down in the future to make it through. I just sat out a couple of segments because I couldn't carry on!
I got my Cathe DVDs today! Only took just over a week which I think is pretty good. So tomorrow I think I'm going to do High Reps. I won't be doing Intensity till next week after what I went through today! I'll be interested to see if she looks squished on my TV! We got a new one a few months ago and Cathe looked really odd to begin with (short and wide!) until I changed the settings.

so, I'm sitting here coughing thinking, oh no, did I get sick from the furnace being out and DH being sick, and then it dawned on me....I think I'm coughing because I was sucking air some this morning and the air was colder than normal with the furnace being out.... :eek:
 
Ronne, I actually am LOVING the nook! I thought I'd miss real books too, but this is so much easier to hold and the pages turn with one finger :) the case I got has a nightlight built in so it's easy to pull out at night when I wake up --- in fact it lulled me back to sleep last night.. uh oh, watch out DH, there's a new love in the bed at night :rolleyes:

I also love borrowing libarary books and not leaving the house for them. I'm joining a couple libraries that aren't local (one requires a $15 yr fee), and these libraries have a bigger selection of books, so I don't expect to buy many. I have them set up to not expire for me too so that I don't stress over getting the book read before it's due....took a bit of my computer programmer knowledge to get that working :)

You better rest up for Insanity! glad you got your dvds!

Unplanned rest day here, guess why? Yep, I'm sick, nothing dire let's hope just feel crappy. Still going to work especially since the house is cold. Furnace is kapoot and will be $4000, they can't put it in until Sunday, luckily the weather will be warming up today (50s for highs instead of 30s and 40s)
 
Started the December rotation. STS was not too bad. I actually like it. I used the tower and I really like that too. I feel like I have a home gym now - once I get it together fully...

Lisa - sorry to hear about the furnace and the $4000. :-( Good luck.

Lisa, why do you have to wait until Sunday!? Do they charge extra for Sundays!? Do you have space heaters? Haven't decided what work out to do today, I have to put on my thinking cap! I did get the Christmas decorations out, DH need to do the tree! Ronne, I heard that those Michelle dvd's were a challenge, now you are scaring me! Is there a lot of jumping? That barre work out probably wasn't the best choice for me, my hips were screaming the rest of the day. My dad is having cataract surgery today, I need to go shower to sit with my mom. Mary - hope your dad's surgery is a success. Give those hips a rest! (Well, you know what I mean :confused:!)
There's not too much jumping, it's more that it's just relentless (though there are some ski hops that are like tuck jumps!)

Lisa - just what you need before Christmas, isn't it?! Oh dear! You must be freezing. I've just relented and put the heating on for an hour (I don't normally put it on during the day in the winter) but I was finding it hard to type or write because my hands are so cold!
And being ill as well - sounds like you need to curl up in a blanket with your nook!

Murph - sounds like you've got a nice home gym there - just need to keep those pesky kids away :p! (Makes me think of Scooby-Doo, 'If it wasn't for you pesky, meddling kids!')

I did High Reps today. I like it! It sped past (though I did skip the paper plate section and the abs - the delivery men were on their way with furniture and I didn't want to get caught out!) Nice to use some lighter weights for a change.

Think I need a cup of coffee to warm me up ... See you all tomorrow.
 
Good morning! Yesterday ended up doing High Reps, today will be MMA Boxing. My Dad did good, told home he looks like a pirate! Also, teased him about wearing the infamous cataract sunglasses! It is cold here! That is why I am procrastinating! Too cold to go and change into my workout clothes! Lisa, are you keeping warm? Ronne, did you try anything new today? Murphy, have a good day! Hi Everyone, another unplanned rest day. I feel awful ! When I went home after work yesterday I ate a bit and crawled into bed and curled up. They kept telling me to go home and work at home yesterday but I figured I was already there. So today I'm staying home and working. I wouldn't mind just being out sick (don't get paid for it) but I have so much work.

I soooooo want to do the new workouts (only have done each one once). We are staying warm, the weather is cooperating and we have a gas fireplace for the family room and I have an electric space heater for the bedroom. We have to wait until Saturday because that is when they will have the time and the furnace...it's an all day affair. I had predicted the furnace would be the next to go, now I'm predicting the refrigerator (let's hope not for a while).

Do you all think Cathe does a lot more upright rows in the new workouts than the older ones? I don't like those, makes my neck hurt later, so I just need to not be a he-woman and lighten up :) Are any of you seeing "squished" Cathe? My tv is 15 yrs old (geez seems lots in this house is old---including me hahahaha) Maybe it's time for a new TV, why not, the wallet is open and fllowing ahahahhah I still have my sense of humor.

Oh geez, and now Yoshi has thrown up, again. I'm starting to worry about her since she's been throwing up at least every other day for the last week or so. This arthritis medicine can cause kidney failure, plus it is time for her 3 mth checkup because of the medicine.

Sorry for lack of personals, I guess I'm just too overwhelmed to be "personable". and as always, thanks for listening

Lisa - you poor thing! When one things happens, everything seems to happen! Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. Don't worry about the new workouts, they'll still be there for you when you're ready!
I hadn't noticed the upright rows. There are some in High Reps but there didn't seem to be loads.
Cathe looks completely normal to me - maybe it's your TV.

Mary - snap! We were doing the same workout yesterday. Funny thing is I planned to do Boxing today as well but decided against it in the end! It is really cold here too. Most of the country has had heavy snow but we seem to have missed most of it, fortunately.

I've got a bit of a hamstring problem. I tweaked something on Tuesday and it's not got any better so today I decided to do some yoga/gentle stretching to ease it. Hoping I'll be ready to go again tomorrow.

Feed a cold, starve a fever? Oh, I'm feeding my cold alright....lots of carbs. I think I just eat and eat and eat to try to feel better.
