40s Heating it up

Hi everyone! I'm getting us started this week. How was everyone's weekned? I hear it's sweltering in the East....it's soooo cool here.....70s!

We had a nice quiet weekend. I finished my book 'The Lost Symbol'. I ended up falling asleep everytime I sat down to read (no reflection on the book---I'm just tired).

I worked out a lot...still trying to slim these hips, sigh.

Saturday was Drill Max, Sunday was a 3 mile run, Monday was Muscle Max, and Monday was MMA Boxing.

I'll check in later to see how everyone is doing....

Hi Lisa

Looks like it's going to be a quiet week! I couldn't get on the site at all on Monday for some reason and just never made it here yesterday. Didn't get any workouts in at the weekend unless you count fruitpicking? Got lots of lovely strawberries and raspberries.
Started my new rotation on Monday, mixing STS Cardio with my new DVDs. Did Athletic Step on Monday, PP yesterday and 40/20 with Yoga abs today. All fairly short workouts which is how I like it!

The Travel section in the newspaper on Sat was all about road trips in the US and I recognised one of the photos thanks to you! It was that place you went to recently with the houses carved into the rock, was it Mesa Verde? It was obviously taken at a different time of year as everyone was wearing trousers and long sleeves.

Hi to anyone looking in!

Hi Ronne, yep it looks to be a quiet one around here. I woke up before the alarm but I just couldn't motivate myself.....started off thinking Imax2, then puttered around so long I didn't have time for that one. Decided that there was no way I could lift my leg up on the step to do a Cathe step workout, puttered around some more and finally decided to run 3 miles. I actually did pretty well for how I felt. I think it may be some PMS rolling in making me feel 'blah'.

Sounds like you've been working out a bunch (high intenisity). I thinnk fruit picking sounds nice, unless it was in the heat. I'm sick of the warm weather, but thankfully we have a NICE cool spell here. 60s and rain....getting me all excited for Alaska! We went and bought some apparel this weekend to get ready (you'd think we had a lot of it, but anything to buy something new, right?) Got some fold up rain jackets (it hardly rains here), fleece jacket to layer, and some nice stretchy pants that I plan to use for rock climbing. I've never been rock climbing, I hope I can do it!

Mesa Verde is open all year although I don't think I'd like to drive there in the winter because the route we took was over a mountain pass that is notorious for lots of snow. In fact they have a 'snow shed' on the route that basically shields the road from the snow. Glad to enlighten you on the west/Rocky Mountains of the US. ONE day I WILL make it to Europe! Not sure I'll hit your part of the world though...I hear Venice and then a cruise in the Greek isles is divine.....

Hi to anyone else who stops in......right, back to work.....

Hi Lisa

Well done for managing the run. Sometimes, just doing something is an achievement!
How exciting getting ready for your trip. We've just bought a map of the area we're staying in France this year. I love looking at the names of places I've never heard of that I know will be familiar after a couple of weeks.

I've never been to Venice. I'm hoping to go there with a friend, maybe next year.

Today was SS, my first time. I really liked it. Cathe's very perky in it!

I'm having one of those procrastinating days with work. Finding a lot of distractions to stop me doing any. Must try and get something done before picking DD up.

See you tomorrow.

Hi all. Just stopping by to say hello, I woke up in time to exercise but just did not want to move. It is crazy hot here and I just don't want to do anything. Today should be much cooler, it was only 86 degrees at 8 am - cold front! :) It is really crazy.

Hi ladies! Today I did Circuit Blast from STS cardio. I think I will always have problems doing pushups, especially the different ones in this workout! I sweated lots because humidity is high but temps are cool......50s!!!! One more cool day here today (60) and then it's back to the summertime temps....the cool spell was nice while it lasted. I'm hoping it comes your way Murphy.

Ronne, what a shame that you are so close to Venice and haven't been there??!?! Very cool though that you will be staying in France though(at least to us that are across the pond). I don't have SS.....I thought about getting that and PP but never got around to ordering them--they were on sale at some point, right? oh well. Work is busy here and I'd much rather be busy than bored! I don't have the distractions you do because the boss is 12 ft away!

Back to work, hope you get the cool front we had Murphy!

Hello

Murphy - are the kids over their nightmares now?! Wow that is hot! No wonder you don't feel like doing anything.

Lisa - I really like Circuit Blast, it's one of my favourites of the new series.
Yes, you're right about being busy. It makes the time at work go much quicker.

Today I did MMA KB. The temperature's risen here as well so I was dripping by the end of it. It's a beautiful afternoon, we're going punting on the river and stopping at a pub for food. More fruit picking again this weekend but not much else apart from that. Hoping to catch up with some sleep!

Have a good one everyone!

Yea! The weekend is almost here! I did KPC this morning. I wanted an IMAX2 fix, but didn't have the energy for that. Then stupid me didn't eat anything before my workout so was even lower on energy.

Ronne, What is punting on the river? Enjoy your fruit picking....what do you do with it? freeze it? eat it up? Make something special?

Hi to everyone else, until next week....

It is still hot but at least we had a splash of rain, finally. We went swimming yesterday and it was like sitting in a warm bath. It was a little weird.

Ronne - I am not sure if the kids are over their nightmares or because they are now in the same bed that they talk all night, roll into each other and fight and then cannot get up in the morning. I thought letting them sleep in the same bed would help calm their fears but now all they do is talk and play all night. I guess I should have seen that coming!
