40s Healing in October

Lisa I hate moving my arms for intensity, mine tend to be little chicken wings. Ronne, keep in mind I'm only committing to about half of the workouts~ 25-45 min depending. Mary, are you all in a fall groove? sounds like it. Roxie, enjoy the boat I guess, I like it hot though! Murph, thinkin' of you and hoping you are having a good week.

At clinicals my preceptor asked how old I was, I'm too truthful for my own good, I don't think she thought I was fifty ish. I hope they are open to hiring a geezer!

update-
Is there anything worse than a printer that only works intermittently? Just enough to keep you hoping that today will be the day you can print something and run out the door? Yes, many things are worse but dang what a PIA. Good news, 630AM, paper done even though I half assed it but printing is such a crap shoot. I just bought this bitch new ink, too.

Hi everyone

Jody - like my broadband being erratic last week. We're just so dependent on technology and it drives us mad when it doesn't work.

Lisa - well done! At elast you might have some good pain - DOMS!

Mary - are you going to do the October rotation with the new DVDs?

Roxie - hope you had fun at the lake.

The weather has turned here. Temperature dropped and wind increased but a lovely clear day. Did yoga today - feeling lovely and stretched out.
Going out tonight - DH was feeling a bit rough last night so we postponed.

Good Morning,

I got caught up on my workouts today I did Tabaticise 1 with warm up cool down and stretch, 110 squats, Burn Set Bis & Tris and 30 minutes on the TM still need to work abs but I need to finish cleaning youngest DD and her BF and his son are coming down Sunday. Its another nice day here but the weather is suppose to change tomarrow.

Mary-we try to go out on the boat when we can before winter sets in.

Jody-it turned out to be in the 80's so as long as we were out of the wind it felt great.

Ronne-our weather is suppose to turn next week.

Hi girls! Today did LL&A, except no abs! I did do the bonus barre tho! Roxie, you are punishing yourself today? That's a lot of working out! Ronne, well enjoy dinner tonite! Sorry he didn't feel well on his birthday, that's unfair! Jody, sounds like you had a rough morning! I despise buying ink cartridges! And you are o geezer! Haven't you heard? 50 is the new 30! Lisa, be careful with those weights! I don't want you to get back to being so miserable! Murphy, shout out! Thinking of you! Well, have to start my running. Thank goodness cross country ends next Saturday, still a month of football tho! Have a good nite! Mary

took dogs for 1.5 mile walk. Decided to tackle PS1 again since I'm doing no arms I figure I might be able to get the choerography down better (minus all those spins). I did good thru step combo2, then I decided to skip (while catching breath) the normal things (knee corner to corner, etc) then pick up where the challenging choerography is. I lasted until combo 5, I gave up, mainly because my area is too small to work in front of the step but it also seemed long. I was able to do combo6. Remember I don't (and never will) do all the spins and bouncing, still a challenge!

Ronne, I could hardly walk last night! Thank goodness I had muscle relaxers! I think it was the bonus that got me, it was the icing on the cake for the glutes and killed my calves. Remembering the early Cathe years of many days of hardly being able to sit on the toilet :) Hope you have a good time tonight!

Roxie, that does sound like a lot of working out in one day. You always seem to make up missed workouts. I have no plan so I can never miss one, right? ;)

Mary, your running around sounds like a stressful workout to me :) I'm being very careful, believe me I don't want to be where I was again! Massage tomorrow morning!

Jody, I despise computers and especially printers. I used to run HUGE printers when I started at 19 with IBM. I hated putting in toner, worried I'd make a big mess on my suit at 2am (yes we wore suits on the midnight shift too). So I'd just bat my eyes at the guy that fixed the printers and he'd do it for me. I guess I had youth on my side :) (remembering wearing a tight sweater dress, oh if only I could wear that same size now :) ) That probably didn't help you with your 50 geezer feeling.

Murphy, thinking of you.

I did CLB today w/o too much prob. That might have been only the 3rd or 4th time I've done that one.
Ha ha, Lisa, a tight sweater dress won't help my printer issues anyway. Seriously considering just going without, they cost so much to maintain and I can print at school if I plan it. Mary, it wasn't that rough, that was just me cranked up on coffee, swearing and enjoying a little drama. Roxie, glad you guys had a nice day and the weather held up for you. Nice job on those workouts, too. Ronne, enjoy your evening! Hi Murphs.
Oh my Chem prof I worked with asked me back for next semester and I got some good feedback from my supervisor (students who came to my sessions had improved grades). So that was fun.

Hello

Jody - good news on the feedback. You might not be getting the workouts in but you're doing the important stuff!! CLB is one of my favourites although for some reason since I finished the Xtrain rotation it's acquired a bit of a dread factor! Oh and by the way, you are definitely not a geezer as here a geezer is a man!

Lisa - yeah, it's funny. I did TBT LB last week and had 2 days of DOMS I hadn't had in ages. I've been working my legs every week so I don't what it was in that workout that did it. Sounds like your step plan is a good one.

Mary - how's work going? You're doing new shifts or on a new contract or something aren't you? Sorry, I can't remember but I'm sure that something has changed!

Roxie - good grief! I wouldn't be able to stand after all that!

Had a nice evening last night. Went to a Spanish/N African tapas place. Had loads of delicious things like chickpeas with butternut squash, potatoes and harissa etc.
Did CCC in its entirety. I was forcing myself to do it and kind of dreading it and it was OK! :D I was actually smiling at the end of it. I don't if it's because of the tabatas, CF, TTM etc. but it didn't seem quite as bad as it used to.
Got a nice busy weekend planned with no time for workouts! Taking DD to see her favourite author tomorrow at a book reading and we've got one of the 'golden tickets' that allows her to have a book signed. She's so excited.
Then on Sunday we're going to friends for lunch.
I might pop in to see how everyone's doing, if not have a good weekend!

OK, didn't know of her- but have fun. I did do PH. It was good. Taking dd for driver license, now.
Driver lic trip a fail. Frustrated.

Happy Friday! Did BS B&T today. Jody, did she not pass? I failed my first time, hit the cones! Tester yelled, "if that was a person, you just killed the,". Cried all the way home, DF laughed all the way home! Haha! Fond memories! Ronne, have fun! You always have the best weekends! Roxie, are you boating this weekend? Lisa, how are your legs today? Murphy, hello! Have to get to shower, football. Tomorrow, cross country in the morning, taking DD to get her hair blown out, have to get DS to a dinner on one side of town, DD to the other side of town, then get them from their dinners to dance, then pick up from dance! I wish DH was off tomorrow! So, to make a long story short, I might not make it here tomorrow! Hope good weekend for all! Mary

Good Evening,

I didn't workout today I went to town and got a haircut then shopping to get what I need for Sunday lunch when my dd comes down.

Mary-no lake this weekend its not going to be very warm and my dd is coming down.

Didn't get here yesterday, all I did was walk the dogs, get a massage and have DIL color my hair. This morning I did LLA, now I see why everyone likes it, I liked it too, and it's a LEG w/o! of course I didn't do the weights overhead, and I did the bonus barre. The only part I didn't like is the floor part and mainly because I can't lean on my elbow or lay flat without my neck and the main muscle I have issues with causing me problems.

Roxie, hope your dinner tommorrow with DD is good. My DS21 flies by himself for his internship sunday, going to North dakota :)

Mary, I bet you've had a busy day with all the kid activities.

Jody, Is this your DD 2nd time? Seems I remember her failing before or was it the other one?

Ronne,enjoy your workout free weekend!

Lisa, younger dd took and passed exam but she thought he'd failed her (blank, noncommittal DMV face) so we were on rollercoaster, plus I worried a lot when she was off on her own at first. This time we just had trouble standing in the right freaking line in order to take the test and didn't get to take it after sitting there for an hour and half. Happy for your son.
Roxie I hope you all have fun tomorrow.
Mary, I hope your driving has improved since you ran over all the cones! ha ha

Sunday afternoon edit- I did AT- 3 risers through out and heavier wts so I did fewer slower reps, I omitted a chapter of bi, two chapters of tri and the firewalker band work for 45 min total.

Hi everyone

Jody - sounds like a good workout. That is so frustrating about the driving test.

Lisa - that sounds like a good workout for you. LLA seems to be popular.

Roxie - hope you had a nice time with DD.

Mary - I liked your story! I failed first time as well. I didn't get yelled at tho. I failed for getting too close to a cyclist.

Weekend was good. The author talk was interesting. We then queued for an hour and a quarter for a book to be signed. And DD was struck dumb and couldn't say a word, so we got about 5 seconds with the woman after all that!
Had a really nice lunch at friend's yesterday. Ate and drank loads and swapped US holiday stories.
Did SC today. Enjoyed it! Just been to optician's to order some reading glasses (well for screen work actually). £150!! Ouch.
Back to the gymnastics treadmill tonight. DD's back to sport, so here we go again!

Hi all. I managed a Flex Train premix. It was nice to be back. I used the 5lb weights for most of it, but could have gone higher in some areas. I used 8's for some, but it was too much for most of it. :-( The push-ups were getting to me. Cathe and her push-ups. Anyway, waves to all. I hope everyone is well or getting there. I am okay. Actually, I am good. A few "eh" days here and there, but overall, I am good. Hi-fives to all!

Murphy

Good morning! I channeled Murphy and did FT also! Murphy, glad to hear you're feeling better. Think of you often. Ronne, sounds fun! I need new glasses too, I keep delaying! Just the expense. I know, stupid! I need to see! Roxie, how did yesterday go? Jody, hope things get worked out for the next time she takes the test! I don't really like to drive all that much, I would prefer to be chauffeured around! Lisa, how are you feeling? Busy weekend, football Friday night, Saturday, race, homecoming, running people to dinner and parties, yesterday yard work. I did do X10 on Saturday, hi/lo and cardio blast, still hard! Rest day yesterday. This week is going to be busy too. DS birthday on Wednesday, Friday, DD is on the drumline in the band, so we are having them for dinner before the game, Saturday cross country potluck dinner and Sunday a dinner for DS's birthday for family. I'm tired thinking about it. Ok, I'm done, had to whine for a minute! Have a good day all! Mary

Good Morning,

Yesterday was nice we watched the Kansas City Chiefs football game where they set the world record for worlds loudest outdoor stadium 137 decibles then we went to the zoo man a five year old is exhausting.Today my DDs are fighting so I get stuck in the middle thank god they are text messages so I can be extremely careful in what I say. DH wants to go see GS tomarrow so I don't want to piss off his mom and he also has the flu. I did Xtrain Bis & Tris, Intervals on the TM for 30 minutes and 140 squats.

Mary-I am another one who needs new glasses. You are such a busy lady.

Murphy-happy to hear you are feeling better.

Yesterday I didn't do anything, was tired (puppy kept us up all night -she didn't feel good and throwing up), plus my throat muscles have been tightening up and was bad. I'm guessing since I'm not really taking muscle relaxers for my neck/back, that throat tightening feeling is back. I'm thinking I"ll take the flexerils at night and save the valiuum for days when I need it. TOday I did PR2, it was good! I did it all, but subbing sculpting 7's for the power 7's. I'm liking the modifiying :) The 6th combo i just did step up/down instead of jump up/down, then instead of squat thrusts I found repeaters worked well. The moves are pretty basic, I was more worried about how it says it has intensity blasts, but it isn't at all like the blasts in past workouts, they are woven into the step portion (hope that makes sense).

Jody, we always enrolled our boys in private drivers ed, then took the test thru them, a lot easier, probably costs more, but with boys we needed the drivers ed for a discount on insurance premiums. Hope next DMV trip is better (hate going to DMV, my DL picture is from 20 yrs ago since we can renew by mail)!

Ronne, I actually did 5 full situps in LLA, ok, ok, so Cathe does more, but I thought just doing the 5 very slow was quite an accomplishment. Maybe another reason front neck muscles are hurting, I'm trying not to baby it, but just be slow with moves (like even getting off the floor, instead of rolling to side, I try to just sit up).

Mary, I don't like to drive either. For someone who doesn't like to drive, you sure drive the kids around a lot! And yes, just like Jody, you worry those first months they drive on their own.

Murphy, yea for the good days! Hopefully they outnumber the bad days! And you have me beat with the weights, take it easy!

Roxie, Oh goodness, is that what it's like to have daughters? I was always the go between and peace maker with my sisters, that's enough. Now as an adult I've given up on them! With age comes wisdom? :)

Lisa-remember when DD told me I was fat well apparently she decided it was her place to tell her sister the same thing now this girl has had a hard time putting on wt she was under 100lbs for quite a while now she is 5'3 and weights 110-115 don't know about you guys but I would kill to wt that. Yes she is a little heavier then she use to be but she is healthy.
