40s Amazing August!

Murphy, you just upped the creep out factor for Mary! I'm happy you are feeling "back in the saddle". We will see how long the 2006 log keeps my attention. Today I did MIC (just the step part which is about 35 minutes) and BM upper body and abs. Earlier in the day I did Tamilee I want those Buns x both sections (about 30 min). Mary, I'd probably not cheat on my hip surg with that particular workout, it doesn't call to me! Happy BD Lisa! : D
 
Hi all. Just finished HR. I had to skip most of the lunges because of the use of the disk. We had to pull the carpet up and have not put it back and the disks don't work well on the mat's - even with the covers on them. I could have subbed something else but it was easier to skip it. ;-) Plus, I am short on time - as usual.

Mary, enjoy your weekend! Murphy I considered HR yesterday, but went for the more familiar PH. I also considered PP or SS for brevity. Today I did BM2 scrambled legs premix-I tweaked it so that it came in at an hour. Have a nice weekend everyone.
 
Hey all, I'm back! Man was I beat today. I guess 2 days of hikes will do that to you, especially when yesterday's 14er we got up at 3:30am in order to get it done before the afternoon storms moved in. We made good time on it and I felt good, in fact I think I may have better endurance than I used to! We normally would have taken longer to get up, but I guess that we beat what it would have taken us by an hour (part could have been the threat of storms brewing). We only saw 2 people the whole time, until after we started down the mountain, then more were heading up, can't believe they were heading up with the clouds moving in. As soon as we got the car to the main road (there is a good 30 min of driving down a dirt road) the skies opened up and poured. Today I only took the dogs for a 1 mile walk and I tried some Pilates on the reformer but that only lasted 30 min and I ditched it, stretched (what I really needed). I just got up from a much needed nap (DH said I was grumpy, I was whoop a$$ tired).

Oh and, on top of the 14er, I noticed a twitching in the levator muscle (just like I did on the others after surgery), maybe the nerves are repairing themselves, it gives me hope!

Jody, having my fun time with my GF makes me ready to have fun with you at the RT. I sure hope I get more sleep than I did on this quick trip! I sure burned a lot of calories and I tried to track my food (was hard on the eating out time, which was only once, the other times was all packed trail food). Based on the numbers I should have burned a whole pound for both days, but the scale didn't show it this morning, I think the body is in just too much shock right now. At about 13,500ft, wow, we could feel that there was just not enough O2 in the air. No longer were the hearts beating fast and us breathing fast, we just hit a wall and had to slow down.



Girls, I'm so tired, I'm hardly thinking, sorry if I wasn't personal enough! I don't think I will get much workouts in this weekend, the family gtg is Saturday night. I may not be back until Monday (when life settles down).
 
Hi all. Did burn sets today, c/b/s. I went heavy and liked it. I have to double check with the doctor b/c she does not want me to go heavy but I cannot remember if that is forever or until I am "cleared" to do more. Anyway, felt good.

Hello! Today did bike and PT. DH did well in race, the weather was brutal tho. The swim always makes me nervous and the lake was especially rough yesterday. 12 people had to be rescued. He did his first Olympic distance, 1 mile swim, 26 mile bike, then a 10k, I was exhausted! Lol! Lisa, your festivities looked beautiful! Hope you had a ball! Jody, don't be on your best behavior! Be bad girls! Murphy, congrats! You are moving forward quickly! Ronne, when are you coming home? Kids start back to school this week, I have lots of meetings (yawn) for my work. Trying to get back into the workout groove after all the birthday festivities, I was beat yesterday! I haven't even gotten my steps in for the last 3 days. Today I walked the dogs 2.9 miles, then KCM BS#2, then 40 min of spinning (I really think the spinning helped my hiking ability).



At the birthday party my BIL (who is a chiro) said I had good muscle tone in my arms, that made me feel good considering I can't lift heavy like I used to and may never be able to. Proof you can get it done with lighter weights? (5,8, maybe a 10)



Mary, I can't believe how fast the summer went! Congrats to DH!



Jody, aw, don't be too good! Man was the alcohol flowing at my birthday party!

Hi all. Did cardio leg blast. I was able to do most of, so happy about that. And then came the ab section. I forgot how that section kicks my butt - or abs. :p I had to skip a rep here and there but I got through it.

Does anyone remember when her next series is due out? I had Halloween in my mind.

Have a quick second. Did XTrain burn sets, bi's and tri's. I upped the weights a bit and felt like I could go higher but did not want to push it. I've done that too many times to not remember - make progress, get crazy and push too hard, get injured and then I have to start over again. Hmm, I wonder if this means I am finally maturing - and it only took 45 years. ;-)

I woke up sore! Mainly in glutes. Geez, I took a break, these last couple days but my glutes mush have thought otherwise! I walked dogs 3.5 miles and then did Cathe Live HS Boxing, it was OK, low key which was good for me today.

Did AOLIH today. Skipped the disc work which was fine with me. But, I plan to clean the carpet and put it back soon so I will be getting back to the discs. Funny, now that I have time to write I don't have much to say. ????

I didn't do w/o Sunday and I worked Mon tues, Im fried but will revive soon.
 
Walked dogs 3.6 miles and then did Cathe Live High Intensity Cardio Step. I liked this one.

Jody, haha, yea, I'm finally recovered, yea it took about a week, meanwhile a friend (I use the term loosely) passed me in fitbit steps so I had to crank it up to pass her a$$ again. Oh and yea, everyone has went back home, weird how my sis and brother came in just for the one night (her from DBeach and him from Hawaii). DS is back in KS, I think he may be here for Labor day weekend so I haven't pulled out my sewing stuff again yet. I wondered where you were being MIA and all.

Murphy, I always forget things I mean to tell you guys, case in point at the end of this checkin. I only watch the Cathe Live videos (will we ever stop calling them videos?) on demand, I'm never ready to w/o at the time she does it.

I forgot to tell you all about my backpack story. So, I wondered why during the first hike last week why was it pulling so much on my shoulders, then at the end of the hike I realized why. My waist strap on my backpack was set big enough to fall past my hips. I had it that way from the last hike, so proof positive I've gotten smaller and my hips must be smaller than I realize.
 
Morning. Did Xtrain legs today. I did not realize that I have not done this one in some time. ??? I skipped the barre work (short on time) but added the rear delts. That is one area the physical therapist said to keep an eye one. I was real weak there after surgery.

Good morning! Never made it here yesterday and no workout! I had meetings from 9 in the morning until 7:30 last night! I was crazy! Today did a Jessica Smith w/o and have to go to PT. Saw orthopedist other day, have to get steroid injection, he thinks it might help since the structure has changed, we will see. Kids first day of school, it's been non stop! Murphy, adding the barre segment to that workout makes it a long one! Lisa, you are getting smaller! Jody, hope you recovered from work! Ronne, are you ever coming back? Have to get to shower, hope everyone has a good day! Mary
 
I walked the dogs 4 miles today, I went longer because someone that was walking that was from out of state joined up with me :) She was nice. I then did KCM Body shop UB premix, well, I think I overdid it on the back rows (you row out to side), so sitting with hot rice bag on it now (hoping to catch it before it gets worse), I skipped the chest work, then I started a spin class and my internet went down!!!! grrrr, this is my problem with on demand stuff! I almost bagged it (had only been spinning 7 min) but then I remembered I had one that I downloaded. Whew!



Murphy, is that area weak because of nerve damage from them cutting or what? My left side is soooo much weaker than my right, I still hold out hope that one day it will get better and try not to push too much in the meantime. I think all this cardio is helping with weight loss but man I'm tired sometimes! My legs are like, REST PLEASE! lol



Mary, Are you having issues with your hip? Pain? Do they think it could be inflammation? Isn't that what steroids are for? Sucks getting older! You're up next for the big 5-0!

Did tabatacise this morning. I made it through the first two and third one got me. I did some serious subbing during that set. On the up side, the "rest" gave me the energy to complete the last two. I added the ab section for good measure.

Lisa - the left is weak from them cutting in that area. The shoulders are the weakest. My port is on the right and it is hard to use that side so my right shoulder is getting weak too. I am still figuring out the balance between using the areas during everyday life, not pushing it, yet working the area to get it stronger. Work in progress.
