40 & over checkin - week of 11/9

Getting a new week started. I took it easy Sunday on the exercising...only did the cardio premix timesaver on LIC. Good enough, I'll hit it hard tomorrow.

Andrea, I've never done any spinning or the elliptical, hopefully someone here can help you with your decision on which is better.
 
Hi all

Another mixed bag of workouts for me this week - fitting them in around the builders.

Did 4DS HIS circuit premix yesterday and enjoyed it. Not too tough - just right for a Sunday!

Work is starting to pick up again so I'll have a busy week and may not be around so much.

Happy Monday everyone. Well, turns out I was a bit lazy today.....I didn't hit it hard after all. I only did C&W. No walking the dog (too cold), no running on treadmill (too lazy), but I guess I will do some laundrymax and floorcleaningmax. :p

Ronne, good for you on getting in some workouts with all your interruptions!

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend. Busy here, errands and hanging out with the kids. We saw Madagascar 2 yesterday, lots of funny jokes for the grownups! Today will either be ME or the premix on that one, I'm kind of afraid of that premix tho. Did it once and have been avoiding it since, guess that means I should do it. Busy week here with parent-teacher confrences and dr. appt's for the kids, will be running as soon as they hit the door. Andrea, I use to have an elliptical, I was bored to tears on it, I don't do well with cardio equipment. Hi to Ronne, Lisa, Kathryn, Murphy, Vilma, and anyone I forgot. Have a good day. Mary
 
Hello Everyone.

Been consistent with the workouts so far but I need to curb my eating a bit....I need to refocus on when I'm actually hungry and when I'm just eating to eat.

On Saturday ended up taking an unexpected rest day as I hurt my back picking up a 50# bag of kitty litter using bad body mechanics and distracted talking to one of the kids. By Sunday I was well enough to carefully move around and once I got my body warmed up did The Kettlebell Way

Today I did Imax2 which was what I had planned on doing Saturday.

I briefly looked over last weeks post and to answer Andrea's question about moving house.

We decided to hold off on putting our house up for sale this summer and let our son finish out his last two years of high school. He is on various team sports mainly Cross Country and Track & Field plus he is the sensitive child who doesn't do well with tons of changes. So after much thought and a few tears and snarky behavior on DS's part we decided to hold off but we continue to look for neighborhoods close to my husband's job.

Mary I took my 10 yr old dd to see Madagascar2 on Friday and it was funny.

Where is everyone? Today is my rest day, had a busy day at work especially since I had a 2 hr lunch with a friend. I just popped in to say HI and no one had posted....what's up with that? ;)

Mary - tell me about the ME premix - I don't know that one, sounds intriguing ;)

Thanks for the Madagascar 2 recommendations. I'll watch out for that when it gets here.

Yesterday was PUB and today was a very short Amy Bento cardio premix as I was in a meeting all morning.

Hey everyone, It looks pretty quiet around here this week! I know we have been busy with school stuff and such! I have only been able to get cardio in this week, and short ones at that! Hopefully things will slow down a little and I can get back in my regular routine! Ronne, the premix on ME is a combo of ME and BC, jumping back and forth between the two, I don't like to do it too much, I always feel like a complete weakling b/c I have to pause it in between some of the sets. You do leg press, then squats, jumping jacks, etc. I did it, but it was not pretty! Hi to Lisa, hope all is going well with the job. HI to you too Vilma! and to all that follow. Have a good night! Hi everybody.

I've been feeling a little flat this week. Another one of my "Oldies" passed away this week (a dog) and she was the Mother of all my dogs so I'm sad about that. At least I didn't have to take her and have her put to sleep. Plus Im a bit mad at my other half too. I never stay mad at him for long but he used my ebay account, and now decides he can't afford to pay for it and that has really really pissed me! And I mean really pissed. So now I lose my 100% rating. Which is what I am the angriest about.:mad::mad: I am also embaressed. God he's a turd sometimes! Just a stubborn pigheaded jerk! I never speak ill of my man either, so this posting is a worry too. I wonder why I'm sharing this?

Hellos to all....I started a FF rotation called Building muscle and staying lean, so today was GS CT and some BG abs. Then it was off to rake the rest of the leaves and give the grass one last mowing. As far as yardwork goes, I'm happy to see winter coming, as far as cold weather goes, eh, not so much.:p

Andrea, sorry to hear of your loss, wow, that's 2 now in a short time. Hope your vent here helped, it's always nice to "get it out".

Mary, I hear ya on the school stuff, I'm so happy my youngest is about done and since he is a junior and the last child, I've actually not been as involved as I was with my other child. Thankfully he breezes through school work and I never fear that he isn't getting what he needs done done.

Hello All!

Yesterday the kids were off from school so I was out the entire day gladly I did fit in Lauren 's On The Edge kettlebell dvd.

Today I did CCV8 - a good long endurance run that had me sweating and panting lol.

My eating is better as I'm still 'listening' to my hunger pangs and I've been drinking tons I mean TONS of water to curb my cravings.

Tomorrow is dh's off day so thats usually my rest day and I may not be online.

sounds like a tough rotation. I'm sticking with Kettlebells and my TM runs plus I've been eyeing that Squeeze Stronger dvd. At the moment I'm not wanting to lift so heavy so what I'm doing works for me. I'm really enjoying my little roattion I made for myself. lol

Mary Hiya I can so relate with the busy school stuff . My DD had a project to do and of course I had to help her out. In the end I was driving out to WalMart at 8pm just to buy something for said project and homework ugh don't get me started . Sometimes its not the student that has it but us parents as well -ick!

Hi, everybody. It's been Germ World at my house. My son still isn't over his bronchitis (or whatever) that he's had since Oct. 25. Daughter got sick on Sunday and today is the first day that she went to school.

I got the flu shot yesterday and ran a high fever, had body aches, weakness, etc. My fever is gone today but I feel pretty weak and wimpy! :(

Can we all just be healthy -- at the same time -- for a little while? I'm really over taking care of sick kids and trying stay healthy! :mad: (gripe, gripe, gripe!)

Anyway, for my workout this morning I dragged myself out of bed, typed this post, and now I'm going back to bed. I hope everybody stays healthy -- and your family members too!

I think it might be a while before I try that ME premix, Mary. I was thinking of doing the PUB/PLB premix at the weekend.

I did PLB today. The builders are back on Monday so I can get a good workout in tomorrow and try and fit something in over the weekend before enforced rest starts again!
 
Hi everyone! I did Imax2 today....I woke up at 3 am and by the time I got around to working out I really didn't want to do it, and Imax 2 is fun, tough but fun. So I pushed myself to do it, ready to count down the 10 intervals and sure enough pretty soon I was having fun and not counting down. Don't you love it when you turn your day around with good exercise?

Ronne, what premix on PUB/PLB are you going to do? I've only done the workouts as is but I'm starting to dive into the premixes a little to make the workouts a little different.

Katherine, oh my, sorry to hear of your illnesses. Young kids are such petri dishes of germs....hang in there!

Vilma, I just got an email about the Kettlebell Way 2 workout shipping 11/18.....I just might have to throw that workout into the mix of this rotation I'm trying to stick to.

Hi everyone, I cannot believe it is all ready Thurs. 2 weeks until Thanksgiving! Today I did LIC, that is a fun step w/o! Today was the orthodontist, yesterday parent/teacher confrences, not as painful as I had prepared myself for! It is supposed to snow here this weekend, raining today, I wish the front tree would drop all its leaves so I could finish raking. Ronne, I have PLB on tap for tomorrow and PUB for SAt, Let me know about that premix, I have never done it. Lisa, I do like I-max2, I always count down the intervals too! Kathryn, I'm sorry to hear about the illnesses, so far so good here! But I don't want to sound to smug, I know someday it will find us again! Andrea, hope things are better on the homefront, we all have those moments with our spouses don't we? HI to Vilma, do you like those cardio coaches? Everyone seems to rave about Sean! I just got done with GS Legs and my legs are still shakin! It's been a while since I've done that one and now I know why. :p

Hi all

I did an SB premix and SJP abs today. My legs started to feel the work from PLB yesterday pretty quickly!

Mary/Lisa - the bonus combo looks quite good. It's all pyramid up only with all the leg work (leg presses twice I think) and arms but no ball work or abs. About 50 mins in total. I might try it on Sunday to hit everything twice.

GSL is a good one as well. I really like that one.

Hope you enjoy the snow, Mary if you get it.
