40 & over checkin - week 7/20

Hi all you 40+ checkin people. Did any of you make it over to the new forums unscathed? My old userid isn't working, so I had to create a new one. I'm looking on the bright side, I like my new username! I wasn't very creative when I created my original username of lekamori.
Hope everyone that wants to be part of the 40+ group finds their way. The site will be awesome once the kinks are worked out.
 
I found my way! There is so much to see and learn, I think it will take me a while! Computers are definetly not my specialty. (either is spelling!) I did LIC today, I took off the past 2 days, something I haven't done in months! It felt good and I actually felt better working out today. It is hard to take time off tho, I always think I'm going to go backwards and lose any gains I have made. I hope everyone else shows up too, I have missed this place, even if it has been only 2 days! have a good night. Mary

Guess I was one of the lucky ones who made it over with no major problems.

Mary, I think we all are on a learning curve as far as getting used to the newness of everything :)


Due to AF visiting and being a royally horrible PITA I have had to take a few days of rest as my body was extremely low on energy along with migraines, nausea etc etc. Actually its been horrible this month. Guess my cycles are slowly changing.

I hope tomorow I feel better as for the past few days my BFF has been Motrin and a heating pad - sucky! :mad:

I miss my runs and just feeling good overall.

I hope everyone who has been posting in this check in makes there way for roll call. :cool:

My eating was not great this weekend, but I did workout and I caved and got a kettlebell and am waiting for the kettleway workout. I don't know what came over me, I think it will be a nice change of workout once in a while.

Have either of you subscribed to threads to email you? If so, did you get an email? I subscribed to this one and didn't get an email and I turned off the spam filter on the comcast web page for both of my email addys. Just wondering if it was working for others or if it was a problem with new website.

BTW, when you post using the quick reply option you can see the thread and not have to have 2 windows opened. Ah, the little things.....

I have been looking at those KB alot lately but still on the fence I just don't want to spend extra $$$ on something I may not do ; but I've been hearing more and more people raving about them so ya never know I may surprise myself one day and get a KB dvd

Most definitely by Sat I should be raring to go for CCPP day. Did you notice on the forum calender that I added CCPP day ? lol

I can understand how they get sore arms from the KB hitting them though. Maybe I'll be able to get you hooked on it like you got me hooked on CC, iTread.

Where did you get your KB and what poundage? I'm very interested in them but I have STS coming soon also :confused: Oy decisions , decisions :p

At one point I said I had no interest in the KB but lately I've been feeling I may want to do some TB using the KB I jut have so much equipment here ack!
 
I got the GoFit KB at Target. I bought the 15 lb , I may want to return it for the 20 lb. Once I get the Kettlebell Way video I'll decide then on the poundage. The turkish get up is tough though but I've seen where people use a lighter weight DB instead because you don't need to swing it. I spent the Cathe site downtime researching and spending money:eek:.
 
Hello again, I feel like I have been hanging out here all day! So much to see and discover! Lisa- You invested in KB? Was it a big investment? Are they fun? I am afraid to take the plunge!! My DH would have a field day with me!! He all ready razzes me for how much time I spend here at Cathe's site! Vilma I hope that you feel better. I have noticed as I am getting up in years my cycles are certainly changing!

Mary of course you can be my friend :p I find it sorta strange to ask since we've been chit chatting for awhile on the thread so I'll send you a friend request and one for Lisa too. I love having friends the more the merrier right? It does feel a bit like grade school but we are all friends right?

I'm feeling slightly better this evening and I'm going to be going to bed here soon to read a bit before I turn out the lights.

I'm really praying that I can get some energy and if it kills me I'm going to have that extra cup of coffee in the am just so I can feel some energy. This will me me tomorow when I wake up -->

I have felt so darned guilty and antsy that I have not moved my body for a few days and its driving me batty.

I hope I can report back in sometime tomorrow with some type of workout report. I miss my workouts.

Yep, looks like you did it right, we are officially friends. :cool: It will be interesting to see what you can do on the site with friends. My DH doesn't get it all either, frankly sometimes he's just happy I'm not pestering him about something. :eek:

The KB was a $40 investment for a 15 lb. The DVD I ordered was another $40, so yes it's quite the investment and I didn't think I would cave but for some reason I did. I think it will be fun and it isn't nearly as intimidating swinging that thing like I thought it would be.

You have been quite busy on the site, I read your blog, now I understand the shy part of your username.

I'm ready to get to exercising tomorrow too since today was my rest day (and boy did I need it). I was tired at the end of last week, this heat is killing me. We got up to 100 today, ugh

Happy Monday! I just finished Muscle Max. That is one nice little TB workout. I found another use for the KB...use them for plie squats. It's an easier grip especially when passing it back and forth between the hands like you do in MM. Cathe is so motivating in that workout. :)

I'm determined to get my eating back to normal. It's tough on the weekends and much easier during the week when there is at least some kind of schedule even though kiddos are still out of school. My college DS is attending summer school to try to graduate early and my HS DS is working a lot this summer. I like it when they are up and out of the house and not sleeping til noon!;)

I'll check back later to see how everyone is doing.
 
Hi Everybody! It's been a while since I've posted! I changed my username from trunyon to HarleysMom! I feel like some others do about when I first signed on way back when, I didn't give myself a fun name :)

Still trying to find my way around here - I think I'll really like it once I do!

I've been off both the eatin' wagon and workout wagon since last Wednesday or Thursday :( Been very tired and drained so I just decided to take off and feel good about! I need to get everything back under control starting today!

Lisa, are you still doing the rotation? How's it going?

I too made it over relatively unscathed. I too had to get a new username - big change in mine name huh? I did not get a chance to do my workout this morning so I hope the weather is bearable to take the baby out for any evening power walk.

Scubagirl - I know what you mean about feeling like you have been hanging out here all day. I feel like I want to see everything at once. Cathe is really taking us to a new level.

Glad to have you back! I thought you were on vacay or something. Yes, I'm still doing the rotation, I'm on the last week except I'm doing it in reverse order so that the interval run falls on Sat when I plan on doing CCPP. I was in and out at work, off 1/2 day one day, busy the others....seemed like a rat race, it just gets like that from time to time!

ATTENTION: I went to the Social Groups and put our group in as 40 & Over - you all check it out, I think I did it right.....JOIN!!!!! Woo-hoo, this may be really fun after I get the hang of everything!!!!
