30 minutes everyday

Do you think its safe and effective to do 30 minutes of working out 7 days a week alternating interval cardio days with full body weight lifting days? I know they say to take one day off but if your workouts are short and to the point i would think you would get enough rest. Thoughts?

I've always heard just listen to your body. I know there are times when I schedule myself for a rest day, but then feel like I can do more, so I do. And other times, I have my schedule all worked out and then about my fourth day I'm really tired and don't feel like I can finish a workout. That's when I modify my schedule and take a break. I think as long as you are giving your body enough rest during your weight training segments, just listen to your body on how you feel with the cardio.

Just my opinion and from personal experience! Julie

I think you should be ok, but like stated above, listen to your body. I ahve had weeks where I would exercise 7 days/week. I fyou feel you need arest, take it. You know your body better than anyone.

ITA. You know your body better than anyone. I workout hard 5-6 days a week, but always take an extra day off if I need it--or else I take an active rest day (for me that's 90+ minutes of power yoga with Bryan Kest or Mark Blanchard). You could play with it and add 5-10 minutes extra every other day to see how your body responds. When I prescribe a cardio/lifting program for my personal training clients, I add only 5 minutes extra of cardio for the entire week. A lot of my clients are beginners and I don't want them to burn out. However, depending on your fitness, and if you're cross training, you could do the extra work every other day. Again, just to see how your body responds.
