Hi all-
Thought since so many of you were getting ready to start soon I'd post todays 30 day results! I am doing the following:

Classic Rotation w/ 3 30 minute Cathe Cardio added per week
Eating average of 1600 calories per day
Very little processed foods - Mexican food dinner / Sushi out 1x per week
Little to no alcohol

I did measurements the way manual explains and use the BB Caliper for BF%. This is after a took recovery week a bit too far ;-)and had 4 days of holiday foods.

Prior to this I was doing cardio for almost 2 hours a day and eating 1200-1300 calories and flat out STALLED in any kind of results. I was FRUSTRATED to say the least.

Weight: Down 1#
Body Fat %: Down 1% (was stuck for a year prior to this)
Chest: Down 2" (back fat almost gone!)
Waist: Down 1"
Hips: Down 1/2" (My trouble zone!)
Thigh: Down 1" (A major issue all my life!)
Bicep Flex: + 1/4"

Hope that helps get some of you to break open those boxes! Good Luck to all

:)

Thanks for posting this Traci! It sounds like this is really working for you! Keep us posted with the results!

Just an opinion, but 1200-1300 cal a day seems a bit low.Especially if you are doing cardio 2 hrs a day.WOW!!

1300-600 est cal burn is only 700 a day to sustain.I do believe if i am not mistaken your body needs around 80 cal an hour even while you are sleepin..At the least 50. That would take you to at least 1200 a day to sustain life. You are starvin girl...
From what i have read and what the girls have said. They stay around 1600-1800 and some more to loose .
Great work on the inches lost. I would die on that much food if i work out that much.
P90x sounds like it shook up your body some. Congratulations.
Are you following the diet that came w/ it?
Have an awesome fit day!!!

Anne-
YOU"RE RIGHT! It WAS low... that was my calorie intake prior to starting P90X. At 43 all the charts I looked at said 1200-1400 to lose.... So P90X book said no lower than 1800... I compromised and ate a bit lower.
I am not folowing the exact diet - the foods I do eat however are all on the plan (clean foods). I eat a lot more in the am and mid day hours only because I get up before 4am.... I have very few calories after 4 but I also go to bed at 8-9 so thats cool.

Great Job Traci! ^5's on your results!

I recently got P90X and I am in the process of reveiwing the vids. I plan to start the Classic rotation come January.

I too plan to add bit more cardio to it (running)1 or 2x per week. I checked out the Doubles rotation but that will take too much of my time and the Lean didn't look like enough weights for me.

YIKES! That reminds me...I had better go put a pull up bar on my Christmas list! :7 :7 :7

Wendy-
LOL... My DH commented last night that my Xmas lsit looks like about as much fun as a list of appliances! I told him NO WAY fitness stuff is the best and what Santa didnt bring me I was going to order on Dec 26th anyway! }(
FYI: I dont have a pull up bar either... I'm using band over door method for now.

My Christmas list was mostly work out related last year and is the same way this year too! LOL It's what we enjoy though so who cares what others think, right? :7

Congratulations, Traci!!! Way to go!! I know that you were having a really hard time before you started P90X because of the low calories.

That calculator gizmo thingy is cool! I just wish my body could get the math thing down!!

GREAT job Traci!

I just finished my first week of P90X, and I'm SORE!!!!
I'm really loving this rotation. Honestly, I will be sad when it's over. I plan to take a 6 week break from it when I finish and then go back for doubles.

Cynthia-
I was SHOCKED that I was actually moping around during recovery week... I wanted to lift w/ Tony so badly... just finished the CH-SH-TRI dvd (it comes in on week 5 of classic) HOLY SMOKIN COW.....My arms are killing me and my heart rate stayed in target cardio zone for 44 of the 56 minutes.... This stuff is blowing me away!
I am planning a couple of months off after the 90 days and doing a month of circuits and then 1 body part a day using Cathe & All Pump Extreme. I will surely miss Tony tho':-(
Its a shocker to me how much I love this program.

Traci,

I haven't decided which program I'll do after the X.
I finished 6 weeks of Cathe gym style, moved on to 4 weeks of Barry's Bootcamp, and was thinking I may do Cathe's pyramid series or circuits with Cathe.
I will miss plyo the most. I absolutely LOVE plyo! I feel so athletic when I'm doing it:) I walk around for a few days resisting the urge to do a Heisman or a Mary Catherine! SUPERSTAR!LOL

Nice job Traci with your first leg of the journey. Your enthusiasm and motivation (as well as your similar stats: age, height, advanced fitness level)contributed to my decision to purchase P90X. I am currently cutting a little more BF before shocking the system with weights. I plan to start Jan. 2nd.

BTW, 6 months ago I bought my teenage stepson 2 of the P90x DVD's: Chest and Arms plus Back and Legs. I loved Tony's personality the same way I connect to Cathe's. I am planning to add a couple of cardio/HIIT Cathe workouts per week so I won't withdraw!

Nice work....and keep us posted!

Good job Traci. It really is the best isn't it? I am on my first recovery week, and am loving the rest. I had no idea I would love stretching and core so much!! But yes, I am ready to take on Phase II also. It looks tough, but fun.

So congrats on all of your stats. If you get this much result after 30 days, can't you wait until 90? I know I can't!!!

That's awesome, Tracy. I'm one of those low calorie gals myself (only 5'2") and think I'm going to have to bump up my calories on P90X next week (I start on Monday).

You're doing fantastic. 60 days is going to be even better for you!

Jeanette

Thanks everyone for your feedback, replies and excitement. It really is motivating to share success. So many of you getting ready to start... I hope you fall in love with the workouts & the process... There really is something "magical" in the combinations and the type of cardio that is combined w/ the program.
Enjoy!!!!

Traci:
Can you post an average day's meals for me? I will be in the 1800 calorie category. I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to starting the "magic".

Jeanette

Traci, I am also interested in your diet so far. I am almost done with week one...and doing better than I expected...My diet needs help though!! I have no willpower!!

Congrats on your stats!!

My diet is pretty basic...
eat 6x a day
2 AM meals of Protien, good fat, good carb (only 1 of 2 meals), + veggies (each about 300-350 cal)

2 Mid day meals of Protein, good carb, + veggies (each about 275-300)

2 "after 4pm meals" of Protein, good fat + veggies (no grains for me this late in day) (each about 175-200 cal) I eat processed desserts 1-2x a week but usually dinner is my last meal.

PLEASE keep in mind that I do some of what I do because of how my body responds to food and my metabolism changes throughout the day. For example: I get up at 3-4am everyday but am sound asleep by 8pm so my morning hours are very long and I need the food.
If I'm absolutely NOT hungry I dont eat that much at meal time... If I'm really hungry then I eat more. I have to listen to my body or my metabolism stalls quickly. You have to find what works for you.

For me my fridge & pantry are pretty boring....
Protein Sources: Salmon, Tuna, Fish, Turkey Breast, Egg Whites, Chicken Breast, Tofu, Beans & Legumes, Protein Drinks, Protein bars
Good Fats: EVOO & Flax Oil, Natural PB, Almond Butter
Veggies: Raw, Steamed, Broiled
Good Carbs: Whole Grain Breads/Rices/Sweet Potatoes

Hope that gives you some ideas but really pay attention to your own body and what it needs and when.

Thanks, Traci. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm going to print this out and make my grocery shopping list today, and plan some meals for the week.

Any suggestions on the protein drinks or bars? (something readily available would be a plus). Dumb question, but do you use these for a protein portion or as a snack/bar/drink portion?

I am also an early morning gal and in bed by 8:30 p.m. I'm sure hoping to get this metabolism revved up. I'm tired of not eating much just to maintain.

Jeanette

Traci,

I'm at exactly the same place in P90x as you are. I'm adding extra cardio and lower body weights. I've had great results, but didn't take beofre measurements. Psychologically, I'm not a scale or numbers person! Me diet looks very similar to yours. Are you checking in anywhere or interested in checking in? (I've got my son doing it too, so now at least I have someone to talk to about it.)
