<3 clean & tidy VALENTINES DAY <3

Katie, have fun with your mom! Please don't think my comments above are directed at you! I'm happy for you that you get to spend this time with her.

No worries!! But my mom is not exactly the picture of health either, so I can definitely relate to what some of you are posting. She is morbidly obese and also has COPD from being a life-long smoker (has been smoke-free for 5 years now). She has lots of physical limitations due to her health, but mentally and emotionally she is fine, and I am thankful every day for that!

Kate, I'm sorry your stomach is still screwed up, that's the worst, especially on an eating holiday such as today!! Hope you at least get to enjoy the dinner that you make the family!

Morris, I haven't read my latest issue of WH but now I am curious. I know I should incorporate some HIIT into my routine but I am scared. As for total body routines...I don't care for them. At all. You make a good point about me we are not body builders, BUT I really like the way my muscles respond to splits AND I like that it really ignites my metabolism!

Klaudia, I did MM upper body premix the other day and really enjoyed it. Sorry that you are without Darrin today, but I hope you have a good day!

anne, i hope you got to do some selfish things today!:)

katie, what is copd?

the fam had pizza & cake. i choked down a slice of pizza and 2 slices of apple. no cake. maybe later?

What Is COPD?

COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary (PULL-mun-ary) disease, is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. "Progressive" means the disease gets worse over time.
COPD can cause coughing that produces large amounts of mucus (a slimy substance), wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms.
Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of COPD. Most people who have COPD smoke or used to smoke. Long-term exposure to other lung irritants, such as air pollution, chemical fumes, or dust, also may contribute to COPD.

yikes, Katie. That will be hard to live with.:(
My mom smoked thru ALL 4 of her pregnancies!!! Can you believe that?!?! My youngest sister, who still loves at home, has asthma. My mom SMOKES IN THE HOUSE!!!!:mad: BUT she "only does it by the window and the fireplace.....the smoke just goes right out!" um, no, mom!:mad: Try this....your whole house reeks. Your walls around the window are stained yellow from the nicotene. And food that you make sometimes smells like cigarettes because your cig-smokin' hands prepared it!
oops - didnt mean to rant so much! IT just tickes me off that she has a TERMINAL ILLNESS and continues to abuse her body.:rolleyes:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I did CS Full Body WO Volume2. It has abs too. I feel wonderfully stertched. That is one butt-kickin' stretch!! I was quaking! Mike was making fun of my shaking legs!:p
oh, and I might as well report that I hada tinytiny sliver of cake. it was goooood! But no large slice w/ ice cream in bed! Little victories, one by one!
will have some kashi & apple soon. not sure on the rest of the day yet
klaudia, i got honey sunshine last night. will try it tomorrow
good morning!
resipe, pleassde kate, forthe bread. glad you are on the mend. hope the cake was good!
i had a bad night but a great outdoor run this am, also did stability ball abs. confession time - 2 cookies and a brownie and 2 mini doves yesterday:eek::eek: okay, done with that! today will be good, i promise. cereal and fruit for breakfast shortly.
katie, what a struggle for your mom! i am sorry. glad you guys can share some quality time together. how was the shopping??? what did you get?
bbl!
Good morning Kate and all to follow!
Today should be a busy day -- out to breakfast with friends, grocery shopping, home for some last minute cleaning and cooking, then company is coming over around 1:30, race starts at 2 pm. I think we are having about 5 or 6 adults and 2 kids over.
I am really worried about food for today. We are going out to b'fast to a place where they make the most amazing pancakes, so I am going to eat at least one. I will try to lay off the carbs after that. I am offering some healthy options this afternoon, so I should be fine there. It just makes me nervous when my food intake deviates from the norm, ya know?
Okay, better get my day started, be back later!
Hey Morris, you snuck in on me!! I am so happy for you that you got to run outside today! I had fun with my mom for sure, but I didn't get anything very exciting at the shopping. I got a few candles, some shin guards for Collin (he starts soccer in a few weeks), Collin's birthday party invitations....that's about it. Boring. But my mom really enjoyed it. When we go shopping like that, I have to drop her off at the front door of the store and pick her up because she can't walk very far:(
wOW so many posts, it's hard to catch up
belated to Kate Katie Klaudia Anne Morris & Angie
and Happy Birthday Colleen!
Katie sorry about your mom's health problems. She must worry you.
The party y-day was fun and I met a few guys but mostly there were single women there :(. It was nice because they put on a funny show for us.
After that I went over to Irene house b/c other family members came down to visit. I ate no chocolate :D. It was kind a easy b/c I don't like milk chocolate. Guess who left town during the holiday weekend to be with boytoy and left 2 of her daughters with the flu....Tracey. :mad:. Tracey's mom was so mad because she is in her mid 60s and can get very sick if she gets the flu. Then Tracey called her sister and told her that she is moving next month and leaving the girls with Irene:mad:. Irene said WHAT she didn't even asked me if I wanted to take care of them. NUTS.
W/o y-day was k-bells interval.
hi katie - i know just what you mean about food deviating from the norm. just remember your 20%:D it is not that easy, though, i know - look at my day yesterday! have fun with friends today!
Good evening all,
I'm a little better today but worried that I won't feel back to normal tomorrow which makes me mad because I don't want to take too much time off... ugh.
Colleen, sorry I missed your birthday yesterday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I'll be back tomorrow for more personals...
hope you're all having a good day!
angie
Hi Everyone!
What a chatty group yesterday. I am sorry so many of you are having issues with your Mom. I have been very fortunate with my Mom and my struggle with her when she gets older will be ensuring she remembers how old she is and doesn't overdo it. Her mother broke her hip at 80 trying to get some ice off her driveway.
Kate, GMIL is definitely with it. She confuses the boys names but when when you correct her, she knows she messed up. She has a live in aid to help her get dressed, prepare meals and keep the house clean.
Katie, don't worry about one pancake. I know the little things add it, but just watch your portion sizes and you should be fine.
Morris, great job on your run! I am jealous you got an outdoor run in!
Robin, glad you had fun at the party. I can't believe Tracy left her sick kids.
Klaudia, I hate samosas so it is not temptation for me. What workout did you do yesterday?
Anne, I am glad you got some you time this weekend.
Angie, it is better to take more time off than risk getting sick again. Hope you feel better.
w/o was MIC
b: oatmeal w/ almonds
s: banana
l: taco salad
d: Valentine's Day Surf & Turf
Hi, everybody, I'm having a very relaxing day today. I was going to work out, but I just didn't feel like it and decided to go with that feeling. I finished the book I was reading for book club, had some guac and chips, and got the invitations for my dad's birthday party done. He turns 80 this month, so we're having a small luncheon for their closest friends. It should be nice.
Morris, porks tenderloin, yummmmm. Great job on the work out!
Colleen, are you having a good birthday celebration today? I hope your visit with GMIL went well.
Robin, your party sounds fun, sorry about the family drama.
Angie, feel better. I agree with Colleen, it's better to take extra time off, you'll be back at it once your stamina is back.
Katie, how's the race going?
Kate, is Mike home yet? I'm glad he doesn't have to go out on Sundays often.
Klaudia, did you have a good VD? Oops, that sounded bad, didn't it?
DH and I are going out to dinner tonight, Bravo at Eastwood, Kate. Do you guys ever go there? I haven't been in a loooooong time, but it should be good. I'm looking forward to it.
See you guys in the am.
anne
morris, human i am! however! i wanted more of the cinnamon goo yummy deliciousness while i was cleaning the kitchen......and i avoided it! not so sure my will wouldve remained strong on brownies!!!
great wo!!! enjoy your walk!
anne, ooooh, what a great day! productive yet relaxing! party at your place?
yes, mike is home. weve all been working in the basement, aka dumping grounds, getting it picked up a bit. got a good start.
i love bravo!!! good luck resisting the never-ending bread bowl!:eek: i let myself have a piece and try to resist more. they are good about "cleaning up" entrees - grilled chicken instead of breaded. and i dont like their desserts either!:D:D
helllllp! nursemax and its time for making dinner!!! gonnabe a late dinner at this rate. i will not eat crappy food!
Hi girls!
We went to the waterpark today! The kids had a blast:) Darrin took the girls swimming. I stayed on the sidelines in my rolled up jeans and supervised;) Had a slice of pizza for lunch, an apple in the car on the way home. When we got home I had a cookie and a handful of baked cheetos-oops! Not a lot, but not good either. This has been a bad weekend-no workouts! And I don't have an excuse, either. Pure laziness. Maybe I'll try to go down in a bit, but I'm not making any promises. I hate when I get this way.
Kate, hope you like the cereal. Darrin made the girls cinnamon rolls this morning:) Not homemade, but not bad for Dad.
Katie, hope your party is a smashing success! Glad you had fun with your mom! Funny how we all have similar issues with our moms-it's like they helped us connect.
Robin, on the rare occasion I go out to the bar, I love to watch the guys watch the girls-great entertainment! I still can't believe your cousin!
Morris, you make me feel so guilty with your awesome workouts! But in a good way, of course. I love pork tenderloin-yum!
Colleen, send me those samoa hating vibes! I need them in a bad way. I keep sneaking cookies at night:(
Anne, that comment made me crack up! I love reading your posts:) Glad you got to stay home and enjoy some time with DH. Have fun at Bravo. I'm not sure about Saturday-no one around here wants to come except one girl. $50 is too much for a one hour class. He's in Florida right now. I'll ask him when his next seminar in Livonia is and we can meet there and go out after? And if all else fails, we three Michiganders are making a date!
Angie, hope you're feeling better:)
Hey ladies, things are going well here -- except for eats. Tomorrow starts my STS rotation, so I need to get it together. I will have a salad for dinner tonight and do some stretching, and hopefully I will wake up feeling slim and buff.
