2011 NEW YEAR'S STS CHALLENGERS: WEEK OF 1/30

I posted on the old thread this morning by accident. Just realized when I was going back to post again that this is the start of a new week/thread for us so I copied this morning's post here.....

Morning Ladies.

Today's w/o plan is week 4/disc 6, CTX or 4DS kickboxing plus abs.

Julie:: You are more then half way through your rotation! Excellent! How do you like Meso 2 as compared to Meso 1? IKWYM about eating too much. I did that myself on Friday. :eek: Did much better y'day though and plan to keep it that way today as well!

Krisitin:: I call myself the Exercise ADD Queen b/c I have a very hard time sticking to a rotation/plan when it comes to exercise. I've only actually completed a very minimal amount of "rotations" in the 8 years I've been exercising but I plan on adding STS to that list! I think I can handle STS because I can do what I want for cardio and abs. Keeps my ADD in check. ;) I figure if I can stick with the STS 6.5 month rotation then I can do anything! LOL

Sherry:: Hope you are enjoying the time with your parents! How far did they have to travel to get to you? My sister used to live a 5-6 hour car ride away. I would take the trip with my mom a couple times a year for the weeekend to visit. Coming home was always seemed like a longer ride then going there for some reason.

So my work out ended up being STS Disc 6 early this morning and then 4DS Kickbox cardio + BBC standing abs with Joey around 3pm this afternoon. Disc 6 kicked my butt extra hard this morning so I decided to split up the work outs. It worked out well today.

Wendy- ADD, lol. Thanks for starting up the thread for this week. Because this is a rest week, I am not sure what to do. . . Maybe IMAX 2! Bbl

Good Morning Ladies.

I did 4DS BC Cardio this morning. No abs today. Short n sweet but NOT easy! :)

My bum and obliques are sooooo sore from y'day's work out. OMG! :eek: Hurts so good though. ;)

Hi Everyone!

I am a week late starting STS. I pulled a muscle in my lower back on New Year's Eve. I must think that I'm all that. Ha! Anyway, I'm back in action after slowly working my way back into my workouts.

I did STS Disc 1. I finished my last round of STS around Labor Day. It was hard to get my STS legs back and get back in the game. (Feeling a little lost.) It finally happened about mid-way through and the workout just flowed for me. I really enjoyed myself from that point forward.

Tomorrow, I am going to do Cardio Burst.

LaDonna:: Wow you must really enjoy STS since you came back for more so quickly after finishing your last round!;) Sorry about your back issues. That must not have been fun. IKWYM about the snow,etc. I am in NJ and getting pummeled! More to come tonight thru wednesday! :rolleyes:
 
Hi ladies!

Frustrated because having trouble logging in through my phone. Typed a whole bunch of stuff only to lose the signal. Argh!

Family room painted (Nutty Beige), new sectional delivered, parents gone (10 hour drive), and house still a mess from the weekend activities. D11 still not done and will be tonight, along with grocery run to stock up before we get hammered with more snow.

Wendy - STS legs really does get the legs, doesn't it!

Kristin - Catching up with you on the rest week (just a few days off).

LaDonna - You'll need to let us know how you do this round of STS. Glad to have you join us.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I ended up doing Low Max and today was Disc 22 (Chest/Shoulders/Triceps). This one left me feeling spent.:eek: I kind of remember feeling the same way after Disc 11. Is it just me? I was feeling psyched to do the 6-month rotation next time around until this morning.:eek:

Sherry, your weekend went quick! Hope your parents made it back safely.

LaDonna, Nice to have you with us! So sorry about your back! Glad you're able to start up again. Yes, I'll take Spring!:D

Wendy, 4DS BC has sort of a dread factor for me. (I sound like a real wimp today don't I?!:p:)) Actually I think that one and 4DS KB are killer quickie workouts, and even better is the premix w/both of them.:eek: I have actually thoroughly enjoyed Meso 2 and looked forward to each workout. It was more "fun" for me than Meso 1. I don't even know what to expect from Meso 3, so I need to do some research.;) How about you, are you still happy you're doing the 6-month rotation?

Kristin, glad you had a nice time at the party! You are very ambitious to do IMax 2 on your rest week! Great job!

Kristin:: I don't do Lowmax often because I don't work out in a large space and some of LM tends to be a space hog so I tend to avoid having to deal with that. I do like the work out though. I love the 4DS K/B work out and B/C is an arse kicker for sure. Can't underestimate a Cathe work out just cause it's short I tell ya! ;) I did the KB/BC premix once and it nearly killed me! :eek::p Yup, still happy in my rotation so long as I don't think too far ahead down the road...when I overthink the 6 months part of it I immediately start to get antsy and want to move on to something else! LOL I am loving STS though. I am also really liking the opportunity to do each w/o 2x. Allows me room for error. If I choose the wrong weight the first week, I can tweak it the 2nd week. I also don't feel like I have to increase my weights by a lot. I am averaging a 1-2 weight increase per exercise each week if I feel I can handle it. If I can't, I keep the same weight. I've even made notes to drop a pound or two on some if I can't finish all of the reps. First time I tried it was such a disappoinment. I thought I had wasted my $ and would never get any good use out of it. Boy was I wrong! I'm glad I made some changes and gave it another shot b/c it's only been a month but I am THRILLED with the program/results so far!!! :)

Wendy, that was actually me, but I'm guessing you knew that.;) Okay, you talked me into doing the 4DS KB/BC premix tomorrow!:D Thanks for the details re: the 6 months. I have never been able to stick with a rotation either but I have had no problems w/changing my mind with STS. Next time around I would start with her official rotation (I think:rolleyes:) though and do the exact cardio as well, just for kicks. (No pun intended!:D:p) I'm liking my results too and can only imagine what they must give for twice as long!

But after today I was thinking maybe I should take it easy on the weights for awhile but maintain just so I don't get burned out.

So, for the record ladies, I have the most intense upper body DOMS I have EVER HAD!! Can't wait to see what the next two discs will deliver!:cool:

hi everyone! Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Grades are due on Wednesday and it always gets crazy around this time, but I am hanging in. So, I did not work out yesterday or Sunday. Two rest days in a row and I don't even feel guilty ;). Today I think I will do kickbox or lic step only premix with abs thrown in. We shall see what I feel like. I will be back later for personals. I have to catch up!

Good Morning.

Well, I am here to say that I'm taking my rest day a day early! I woke up at 4 when my first alarm goes off and rolling over in bed hurt (continued DOMS from Sunday!:eek:), not to mention the fact that I still felt very tired and went to bed at a decent time so I quickly reset all alarms and got up at 5:30 instead. :p

I posted in Ask Cathe about taking a recovery week 1/2 thru each meso in the 6 month rotation b/c it's not in the rotation she posted on the forums. She wrote back stating that she encourages it and should have put it in the posted rotation so I am happily going into active recovery tomorrow. I will do anything but lift heavy for 6 days. :)

Julie:: GAH!:eek: I mean, um...YES! Ofcourse I knew that was you! ;) Guess I got a wee bit confused there for a moment! LOL So you are going for the gusto with the kb/bc premix tmrw ey? Have fun! It's a doozy! :p I don't think I could follow the STS rotation that includes the pre-chosen cardio. That would be too strict for me. My ADD would be bustin out at the seams and it would be an epic fail!:eek: If I can make it through this rotation, take a break and can wrap my mind around it again, I want to give the 3 month rotation a go next time. I wanna throw in some other stuff for a few months in between though. I have Insanity and the X on the brain for starters...!

Sherry:: Woot! Disc 11 is finally done. You should frame that one! ;)

Kristin:: Glad you got the grading done. Enjoy your work out.

That happened to me last week. There are so many check ins I never realized it.:eek:

I'm bummed that I didn't get my workout in this morning but the day isn't over! I just don't have the energy in the afternoons like I do in the morning. My husband went into work at the last minute (didn't get the ice we were anticipating) and I made the mistake of sleeping in.:eek:

Hoping to check back after I do come cardio!;)

Well, I settled on LIC cardio premix plus the ab section of that workout. I love LIc, the music and choreography are great. I feel as if I am coming down with a cold :(. We are supposed to be getting sleet and ice over night, so my commute will be fun ;). I am enjoying this rest week from STS, but I am looking forward to seeing what Meso 2 will bring.

Wendy, lol, thanks for keeping us on the first page :D. Enjoy your active recovery ;). Oh, I've done the bc/kb premix as well, and I sweat buckets with that one, lol.

Sherry, yay! disc 11 down, one more to go. ;)

Morning~

Last night I squeezed in Hiit 40/20 followed by some ab work from Core Max WO 1. I was short on time and NEVER work out in the evenings but glad I got it in.

This morning is Legs and I'm a little scared after Monday's C/S/T.:eek: I have the most intense pec DOMS I think I have EVER had! Did I tell you she brought the push ups back in that one? Not super bad, but they were towards the end and I dread the close grip ones.

Need to start my workout but I'll be back.

Kristin, hope you're feeling better. I started getting a cold in my recovery week and I loaded up on VitC. It helped.;)

Sherry, yay for Disc 11!!

Wendy, aren't you glad you asked about that recovery week? Phew! Enjoy it!

Good Morning.

I chose to do Core Synergistics from the X this morning. WOW! :eek::D

Julie:: I slept in on one of the last snows we got here thinking I wouldn't have to go to work that day but I did. It was a bummer for sure. Hopefully you can get your work out in later! Fingers crossed! So how was your leg work out today? What disc are you on?

Kristin:: Glad you enjoyed LIC. We got a mixed bag of precipitation on the ground here too (and still coming down though I hope it's just rain now!) that so nicely froze over night. :rolleyes: DS and myself both have delayed openings so I don't have to leave the house until 9:45 today (as opposed to 7:15) and I won't get charged for any time off due to DS' school delay since the bank is opening late! :D Drive safe!

I did STS Disc 2 today. I acutally did pull-ups for the first time since I got Cathe's pull-up tower for Christmas. In the past, I've done pull-downs with the band. I really love this piece of equipment. Tomorrow, it's MMA Kickbox.

Better get back to homeschooling my first grader. My 7th grader has been out of school all week due to bad weather. He will probably go back tomorrow. Unfortunately, they are out of snow days, so they will have to make the days lost this week up somewhere. I'm not sure how they will do it. We've never had that happen here until now.
