So I figured I'd enable some of you to spend more money (HEE HEE HEE) . Anyways, I just got 2 new Shiva Rae Vinyasa Flow dvds: Daily Energy Flow and Surf Yoga Soul. They are both AMAZING and I highly recommend them. I have totally fallen in love with vinyasa flow yoga and Shiva. She has such stunning natural beauty. I've been trying to get into yoga for years but I never stuck with it. That was until I finally found an instructor and a type of yoga that I liked. I have all of Shiva's dvds and they all are great! To me, the flowing feeling of vinyasa is amazing. So I just wanted to share:)

I also really enjoy Shiva Rea. I like her new DVD Yogini Vinyasa Flow Yoga. I also like her Daily Energy, Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Trance Dance and Surf Yoga Soul.

How are they for people who have flexibility problems? That's what I'm finding difficult about doing yoga. It hurts! Just trying to get into some positions - and they're not even that advanced - is difficult for me. I'd love to find one that I can do and enjoy and not be wincing the whole time!

I think those less flexible would be fine with these. She often shows 3 different levels for the more advanced poses. Her style is more of a flow then getting into a pose and holding it. I would say give them a try. I would start with daily energy flow and see how you like it.

Thanks for sharing.
Can you describe what's different about it -- what you like in particular?
Thanks!

where did you get them, kariev? by the way, i am totally addicted to the mark blanchard's you recommended - the more i do them, the more i love them! do you think i'd like these too? tia

Thanks for your input! I would love to do more yoga, but whenever I think about it, it makes me cringe! :( I know it would be great for my flexibility, so I think I will try this one!

Jane: Vinyasa is constant movement. Each pose flows from one to the next so you get a little bit of cardiovascular work with it. I'm not a fan of getting into a position and just staying there. I find that I feel so wonderful after these because of the bodily flow. Not to mention Shiva's voice is very soothing to me.

Morris: I'm glad you like Marks dvds. I have to get back to them. You can find all of these dvds on amazon, videofitness.com, or collagevideo.com If you get them let me know what you think.

Syzygy314: I hope you like them. I understand dreading yoga. Actually this is also one reason I have decided to commit to it. Flexibility and body/mind balance is a struggle to me. I'm great at killing myself with weights and cardio but when it comes to relaxation and being aware, not so great.

Thanks for your reply. That sounds pretty cool to me.

Kariev, thanks for the recommendation. I added Shiva's Daily Energy to my Netflix Queue.

I know that yoga can be a great part of a fitness regime, but my only experience with it has been Yoga X and Tony Horton's constant joking around got on my nerves! It was not a calming experience, LOL! I am sure this will be much better.
