I was excited to here that WM now has a free food diary. Problem is its not integrated with the existing WM features. Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like FatSecret is embedded but not integrated. So I can track exercise in the regular WM calendar OR food and exercise in the fat secret diet calendar but they don't sync up.
I want to use the WM calendar as Cathe workouts and STS cards are there but to track calorie deficit you need both in one place... or manually sync which is what I do now to another web site.
As a software developer I find the design choice to be odd in that the food and exercise journaling is essentially on the same page as the Calories Consumed (manually entered daily total) and the Exercise Calories from the regular WM calendar. I would have kept them separate... ie) a FatSecret page or tab of its own. It leads the user (at least this one) to think they are integrate and then leaves them disappoint to discover they are not.
Note that I am a huge fan of Cathe and have almost the entire library so I have a vested interested in seeing the website improved. Give me a food diary integrated with an exercise diary that has the Cathe workouts and workout cards, and eventually an iPad/iPhone app and I will switch over from the current website I use. I paid $2.99 for their iPad app and would pay up to $9.99 for a Cathe WM iPad/iPhone app combo.
Right now I am left disappointed. Also disappointed with Workout Blender as it does not work on my version of the iMac.
