Morning Challengers!

I saw that no-one was online yet so I'll start us off for today.

It was my day off today. So I cleaned maxed, then I mowed the lawns (I pushed the mower, not the ride on) Then I had to sit down for a bit with coffee to recharge. AND then i mucked out the stable, took my horse for a walk (Am hoping that he's FINALLY on the mend, touch wood) cooked dinner, did the after dinner tidy up, dishes, bath times etc.. and now I log on here to say hello to you guys and then off to bed! Whew!

So, hello you guys :) :)

I am finally starting to weaken re the STS. I don't really want to, as the shipping costs from UPS and SNM are outrageous :D :-( And I really really love Advanced workouts I manage to save money with Jenny. Are you guys getting involved with all the STS hype or are you all just happy without. I've still got other dvds to buy and add on to my weight collection which is why I am holding back too.

Well girls, enjoy your day :)

Andrea

Good morning Andrea and all that follow.....

Andrea - I am SOOOO jealous - what I wouldn't give to mow the lawn right now!!:7 We have a couple feet of snow here in southern Minnesota and freezing temps. When I read that you mowed the lawn I could just smell the fresh cut grass (one of my favorite smells). We are suppose to get up into the 30's finally, so maybe some will melt. I sure hope spring is around the corner, we've had a tough winter this year. Ok, I was daydreaming for a minute there about spring :p ;-) - I'm back!

Gayle - Do you know the Weight Watcher points for your protein pancakes by chance?

My classes went very well last night. They love the walking interval class so much I'm adding it to Mondays from now on, too. :) I'm excited about that!!

I'll be back in a bit, I need to fill up on some java! :9 :9

Marcia.

Good Morning Lovlies!:)

Sad to say but with only 4-5 weeks left I think I am just starting to get into the swing of the challenge! My eating as been on par and my workouts have been good :)
After yesterdays 11 miles my legs are tight but I WILL do cardio again today:D Not sure what but my rotation calls for cardio and full body weights, Im looking forward to the weights part of things! I love to lift heavy!

Anywaysssssss.....

Andrea** Nightie, night! Glad to hear your horsie is getting better!:) Sounds like you had a very busy day today/yesterday!

Marcia** Sounds like you are on the mend, what is a walking interval class???

BBL gals! I have to rewarm my coffee and straighten DD's hair. I was thinking about taking DS swimming today but I don't have a suit for him and i have no clue what time open swim starts...

Lori:)

Lori - is there a Weight Watcher check in anymore?? I've started back up on WW on my own and thought a check in would be great. I knew there used to be one and you were on there, too, but I can't find it?? A walking interval class is alternating speed walking and toning. I alternate every 4-5 minutes or so between the two.

Marcia.

Good Morning Andrea(or good night)and Marcia

Andrea-Wow you had a productive day without the workout! Good job on everthing!

Marcia-How are you feeling today, sounds like your feeling alot better! How many classes do you teach a day? Sounds like fun to teach one. How many people do you teach?

Todays workout is GS legs, and i can't believe im doing it agian after the monster doms it gave me that are just healing up today! I was still sore yesterday. That workout really got me good!

I can't wait until tommorrow, im SO ready for my rest day and cheat day....gesh!

:::: Question :::::: I purchased some crackers last week(i miss my NPB with crackers,my favorite snack)that looked clean. Can guys tell me what you think?
There called " Carr's....Table Water Crackers and the ingredients are.....wheat flour, water, palm oil and salt!
5 crackers are 1.5gs fat
100mg sodium
13 total carbs
2g protien.
so do they look pretty clean and bfl friendly?

Hey to everybody..bbl

Good Morning Lori, you must have posted while i was typing my novel,LOL-I didn't even see your post on the 11 mile run...Wow,you go girl! Great job on that! But then agian, your always doing these amazing workouts!

ok,gotta go!

Hi Amelia -

I teach two classes (walking/intervals and a step class) on Monday and Wednesday in the evening. I teach a step interval class on Tuesday mornings. On Monday and Wednesdays there are probably 14 people at the classes on Tuesday there is only 5 or 6, but that is mainly due to the space issue at this small fitness club.

Marcia.

Marcia** We changed the title of the thread to "commit to get lean and fit" We realized that none of us were actually following ww's anymore! LOL I thought about leaving a couple of times b/c I wasn't actually following a diet but I love the girls over there so much that I can't do it. Now its kind of like a check in where everyone is doing there own thing. You could still check in with us though b/c the majority of us know all about ww's so if you have any questions we can help you. I love going there in the morning b/c I know everyone and don't have to scroll through yesterdays post to see what everyones names are:)

Ameila** Im not sure what to tell you about the crackers. How big are they? If they are bigger then it seems o.k but if they are those mini ones I don't think so. Also...are the whole grain or whole wheat? You should stay away from anything made with white flour. JMO! hehe

Andrea** I also forgot to add that I am definitly getting the STS series! Ive been sucked in already but I usually am with whatever workouts cathe makes!

I should get DS some breakfast although he didn't drink his bottle so he probably isn't even hungry!

Lori:)

Hey lori-the crackers are pretty big, bigger than a saltine..there round like a ritz but twice the size! the first ingredient says wheat flour...does it have to say whole wheat flour? I thought we were suppose to stay away from enriched anything? And I agree,no white stuff for this gal;-)

Marcia-Wow,your classes sound great-too bad your so far away or i may pop into one;-)

Hi, Amelia-

I know the crackers you're talking about and they are made with white flour. The ingredient list will say "whole" wheat flour if it's whole grain. If you're looking for a great crunch, try Wasa crackers. They're long like a graham cracker, but very whole grain friendly and very crunchy!

HTH,

Kelly S.

PS--I posted a recipe last night on yesterday's thread, but I don't think many people checked in after that, so I'm reposting my message here. Great soup!

I know how you ladies love recipes, so I've got one for you here that I made for dinner tonight for the first time. VERY GOOD!

Black Bean Soup

1T. oil (I omitted becuase I used a nonstick pot)
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2tsp. chili powder
1tsp. cumin
4c. veggie stock (or any stock)
2 cans drained black beans
1 can mixed veggies
1/4tsp. pepper
1 can stewed tomatoes

1. Saute the onion, garlic and carrots for 5 minutes in bottom of pot.
2. Add chili powder and cumin, saute 1 min.
3. Add stock, ONE CAN black beans, can of veggies, pepper and bring to boil.
4. Puree in blender remaining can of beans and stewed tomatoes and add to pot. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

Nutrition Facts: about 140/serving (8 servings)
3 g. fat
30 carbs
8 g. protein

It's super fast and super tasty! I added 3 oz. of already cooked left over whole grain pasta during the simmer to make sure the kids were filled up. Yum :9

Good morning everybody! SNOW DAY here! The snow started just after midnight and it’s still coming down. It’s supposed to change to freezing rain later this afternoon! Right now, the kids are playing the Wii (I’ll join them when I’m done posting). I’m going to make a pot of Salsa Chicken, and a BFL-friendly meatloaf.

My morning workout: (which is DONE, by the way, :) )
GS Push ups on bench and knees (LOVE LOVE LOVE this) to warm up!
BFL upper body (I switched things up a bit)!
ITread 11, 4.5 miles!
Stretch Max with the band!

Marcia-I’d have to see the fiber content. Let me check it out and get back to you, ok???

Andrea-I have to admit that I think I’d buy just about ANYTHING that Cathe puts out. STS really is starting to remind me of P90X. And heavy weight work has been doing wonders for my body. So, YES….I bought it right away. Besides, I figure that IF IF IF I don’t like it, Cathe’s stuff pretty much re-sells at face value!

Lori-the gals and I over at the BFL check in were talking about this yesterday….12 weeks is a doable time frame….but the first time through, you’re just getting into the groove and learning what really REALLY works for you. It’s the reason, in MY opinion, you move forward right on into THE NEXT 12 WEEK CHALLENGE!

Amelia-pair those crackers with string cheese, or tuna fish or another protein you like, and they’d work in a pinch. In moderation! (Oh, and Kelly’s suggestion of Wasa crackers is DEAD ON! I love those things…haven’t had them in ages, though!)

Kelly-thanks for sharing that recipe! Looks great!

Gayle

Thanks Kelly,I will try those wasa crackers-what is the best flavor,i also saw those at the store too but couldn't figure out what flavor was better! There's so many! Recipe looks good,i may try it this weekend!

Gayle-Great workout, your on fire! Thanks for the suggestions on those crackers....How did your like survivor last night? I was kinda hoping that ciarre or parvati would get voted off...who did you want gone? I was SO surprised when the fans beat the favorites on the immunity challenge,i just figured that with those strong guys on the favorites-they had a better chance! Guess not!

ok,now Ive really gotta go
bbl

Hey, Amelia, the kids and I just wanted to cry when Yau got voted off. He's a great guy, not to mention an AWESOME competitor...he didn't really DO anything to DESERVE to go. They should have gotten rid of Jonathon, in OUR opinion! lol His mouth drives me INSANE! But Ciree, I think she did the right thing by alligning herself with the group she did instead of Jonathon the Rat! LOL I'm pulling for the Fans!

Gayle

Good Morning Girls,

Tonites workout is body fusion and abs. The weather here is cold, but suppose to hit 52 tomarrow.

Brkfst-don't know yet running behind
AM snack-banana and yogurt
Lunch-veggie soup
Pm snack-larabar and orange, and salad
Supper-don't know yet something quick

Well I'm off to work BBL.

OK, drum roll, please....I ACTUALLY WORKED OUT THIS MORNING! I was awake and instead of just lying there like I have been I did 4DS KB cardio. Still not as much as I'd like, but moving in the right direction.

Andrea, I'm seriously waffling on STS. I just don't know that I would really LIKE it, regardless of the benefits I KNOW I would get from it. It's a lot of $ if I'm not ABSOLUTELY sure about it. When STS was first announced, Cathe mentioned that there would eventually be an iPod WO - STS Gym for use in a gym environment that would probably suit me better. I'm thinking of holding out for that.

MEANWHILE, as much as I love Cathe, I need some other things to do since I'm starting to feel a bit bored w/ my WO. I have several iClimb and iTread WO and I do those sometimes. I will also start running & biking outside again soon. Any other WO suggestions?

OK, time for me to scoot - work is calling. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon Girls :) :)

Can't believe I didn't check in yet. I've been busy.

I did 5miles today and worked chest and abs as well. Used a few different DVDS to hit the chest from diff angles. I was logging my workouts from yesterday and today and noticed I was suppose to do ciruits yesterday--silly me---I ran:) Maybe I did it on purpose}(

My workouts and eating are right on track. Pretty pleased with self.

Anyone have any plans for the weekend?

Tomorrow its a 5miler :) yes it is on the schedule LOL.

I may be back :)

OMG lori...how do you do it? You rock girl!

ok,after lories post i don't think im worthy of reporting my workout,LOL
I did gs legs(standing work) minus the deadlifts and slow lunges:+

everybody have a good night,I did read but I don't have time for personals...gotta go clean!

Ameila** Don't be soooo silly! One of these days you will be running faster and longer! Just takes time!

Andrea** Good job on getting your butt out of bed and getting that workout done! hehe

Roxie** Have fun with your workout tonight!

Kelly** Thanks for the soup recipe sounds yummo!

Gayle** Did you enjoy your day with the kiddies? HAve to break up any fights? I love days where you "can't" go anywhere and then there are days I just don't want to go anywhere but start getting antsy by the end of the day. Im kinda aiming towards a 6 week challenge, something smaller so that its not so scary. On my 2nd week of that.

Kath** enjoy those 5 miles tomorrow. I don't know what i will do.

So I made the waffle recipe posted on the OD board I asked for earlier. I made it with 7 grain flour, also added in some splenda and a banana I had. They are really yummy BUT stuck to my waffle maker so they turned out to be pancakes! hehe Now I have lots of snack food in my freezer!:9

Have a good night everyone!

Lori
