Hey there ladies!

I don't have much time here as I have to get my butt to the gym but I just wanted to check in after being gone for the weekend! Hope everyone had a good one!

I haven't worked out since Friday and ate poorly all weekend. It was awesome food but I feel AWFUL now. :-( I am headed to the gym this morning to work it off on the treadmill. I have no plan/goal in mind...just gonna see what happens!}(

BBL!

Happy memorial day challengers!!

Yesterday was my rest day and boy does my body feel rejuvenated. It's amazing after a rest day how much energy i have on monday's.
This morning I did Abs from C&W, GS bs&b(timesaver) and Imax 2. I just love that workout!!!

I also didn't eat too well this weekend. I try so hard to go into the weekends with the right mind set about eating clean and always wind up loosing it:( I wonder why that happens.....

I hope everyone has a great day today. I will be bbqing with the in-laws today.

Wendy- have fun at the gym!

Hello Wendy, Sunnydelite, Karen and all who check in later. This morning was an hour and 20 min bike ride. I was going to jog, but just didn't feel like it.

Yesterday I bought me an Accumeasure Body Fat Caliper. The bad news is I used it this morning. The good news is I have a lot of room for improvement. It was pretty funny because I took the first reading without reading the full instructions and I was like "Wow I really thought my fat content should be higher." Then I opened the pamplet and saw the conversion chart and the truth came out. Actually I was kind of relieved with the true reading, because I knew my reading from a Tanita scale and I thought at first how could the 2 be so different. But it ends up they are not that different. Just 2%. Not bad considering one is high tech and the other is only made from plastic. Hopefully I will be able to see my numbers go done as we progress through this challenge.

Btw: How often do you the rest of you take your fat % measurement?

Jean

Jean ,I usually meausre mine once a month generally around the same time. Like right after TTOM when I feel my best. No bloating or anything. Take the reading a few times to make sure you are getting relatively the same numbers. Like ( 4,4.5, 4) If you have readings of like 4,8, 3 then you need to redo the process. I think Heidi does hers with 5 to 8 readings and takes the average. I have my dh do mine since he has always done it and is pretty good at it. He can usually get it the first three times with a faily even reading.

Hi Wendy, Sunnyd, Karen, and Jean, and everyone else! I got back last night around supper time from my weekend away and have had to come back down to earth after having a fabulous weekend. I enjoyed some treats on Friday night and Saturday but on Sunday I cracked down and didn't have any sweets or salty foods. I had a little too many vodka coolers on Saturday night and woke up with a bit of a headache but was feeling great in no time after a black coffee and lots of water and healthy eating. Oh and I ate a whole lobster on Saturday night, I'd be curious to know how much protein is in one of those things!

Anyways I had a blast and even got some compliments that I'm looking really good. A couple of the women said I always look good BUT that I'm looking especially good, so that was nice. Of course I was quick to tell them about Cathe! LOL!

I did GS back, shoulders & biceps at lunch today which was great. It feels weird though because I'm so used to sweating and having my heart rate up high! LOL! But that's okay, it's mass building time. I had a protein shake and instead of using a tablespoon of nat. pb, I used 3 tablespoons of ground flaxseed. Gives it a different texture, but I liked it.

It's good to be back to my workouts, and that's unusual for me to say. In the past, a weekend like this would easily knock me right off track.

Karen is right, when I use the accumeasure I do it about 5-10 times just to be sure. I've only recently gotten good at getting close to the same reading one after another. And I measure it every Saturday morning.

Heidi
P.S. I weighed the same this morning as when I did before I left, so it just goes to show it's what you do EVERY day that impacts your life, and not the things that you do occassionally.

12-Week Check-in

I dropped a pound last week. With the lack of sleep and shorter Timesaver workouts, I am very pleased with that result!

I had a restful holiday weekend. I enjoyed a few small treats but did good with my eating overall. I had a Kari Anderson marathon and did a few of her workouts for the first time. DanceWorks is still my favorite, but I love Push! The step choreography is fun and more intense than her other workouts, but her dancy floor aerobics is what I love the most.

I did the Body Tech step workout tonight (and skipped the weight workout). I love it! The choreography is a lot of fun and reminds me of Cathe’s step choreography. Kari shines in this video, and I love the music. It is less intense than most of Cathe’s workouts, but it is still a good workout for a refreshing change of pace.

I tried Two the Max twice and did not care for it at all. I am surprised because it looked like a lot of fun when I previewed it. The set is darker than usual, the outfits are loud, and the workout itself did not turn out to be as fun as I had hoped it would be. I am visually motivated, and details like the set and lighting and colors affect my enjoyment of a workout. I can deal with leotards and leg warmers if they are solid colors. Wild patterns are another story! Music is very important to me as well.

I love DanceWorks, Push, Classic Cardio, and Sweat Express for floor aerobics and Body Tech and Push for step aerobics. Those are the Kari Anderson workouts that are keepers for me. I still need to try her original Angles, Lines, & Curves. I may give Two the Max another whirl before I give up on it because it has quite a few glowing reviews. I tried Hi-Lo HITS earlier this year and did not care for it either (because I did not like the music).

I tried Christi’s Still Jumpin’ again this weekend. After doing Kari’s workouts for several months, I am able to follow her choreography now. It is just not my cup of tea. I love the music, but the workout itself is not something I enjoy doing.

I changed my mind about my rotation again and decided to stick with the Timesaver workouts for 3 weeks. Hopefully, I will return to the CTX Series after my trip next month. After a holiday weekend with Kari, I am looking forward to seeing Cathe in the morning!

Blessings,
Heather B.
