12 Week Challenge - 05/19

Annabelle2

Cathlete
Morning again ladies!!!

Wendy - HIIT is like intervals, kind of like Imax without the step routine, up for a bit and down for a bit. Imax 2 blast only is a perfect example of it. I never thought of the Gym as a get away - sounds nice -- kind of like Spa Day!

Gayle - I could really go on about why I feel good, I think it is the food....since 2002 I have been eating 1200 - 1300 calories but my exercise time and intensity has grown. I always thought because of my age I needed to stay low calorie and everytime I went up I gained but I think basically I was starving - didn't notice it while there but I can really tell the difference now. Your workout looks great!

Heidi - I have done the zigzag method and it works wonders - I have zigzagged both calories and carbs - it will definately hit a sticky point! Thanks for the encourgement -- I really need focus right now! On your workout....are you drinking enough water? When I don't I get dehydrated and depleted of energy especially for cardio.

Karen - I think zigzagging would be good - glad you can tell something from your pics - I need to take mine, don't think I will see a difference yet???? Your post made smile especially about crazed fitness woman!

Jean - I think you are right, I know I will get to add veggies back gradually and the protein will go up but I do know this....I have not any sugar cravings and I think it is from all the potatoes. For a while I had a hard time passing anything with sugar but lately I dont' even want it. So sorry you didn't sleep well, hope it was better last night.

Heather - I like that good hurt too! CTX is a great series and I am sure you will have some measurable results!!!!

Workout for Today
I am to do endurance this week and today I worked shoulders, bis and tris. 37 minutes, 123 calories burned, HR 91 average/118 max. Still feeling energetic!

Food For Yesterday
Yesterday was tricky because I had a business lunch and was unprepared - I checked with the trainer about what to eat and my answer was partly, "Are you serious about body transformation?" Well, I adjusted....because I am serious, I just don't think about it when I am eating.....

M1 1/2 cup dry oatmeal, cooked, 4 egg whites and 1 whole egg scrambled

M2 2.5 oz turkey breast, 4.5 oz white potato, 1 t peanut butter

M3 I ended up splitting my snack after lunch -- 1.5 oz shrimp, 2 oz sweet potato

M4 1 oz turkey breast, 2 oz sweet potato, 1 t peanut butter

M5 2.5 oz turkey breast, 4.5 oz white potato, 1 t peanut butter

M6 2.5 oz grilled sirloin, 4 oz sweet potato, 5 almonds

Usually I would have 5 meals but I went to my lunch, drank water, ate half of my snack upon return and the other half at snack time......it was a good day!

Off to the shower and have a great friday everyone!

Kathy, I really am impressed, truly. You sound like a woman in training, and in reality aren't we all?!

I will make sure to drink enough water this morning, thanks for that suggestion because it is something to watch for. I'm trying to make a list of tips to ensure energy for your workout, like perhaps eating a banana. I will add water to the list. I usually do drink lots in the morning, maybe I didn't do as well yesterday.

Today is Muscle Endurance day.

Have a great day everyone!!
Heidi :)

Heather, when you check in here, I just want to say I'm glad you're enjoying your CTX rotation, it rocks!! Power Circuit is tough but good! I find CTX definitely gives your muscles a good workout too.

CTX has the power to change your body!

Heidi

Good Morning Fit Women!

Kathy, I am more and more impressed every day! I am on the edge of my seat...I can't wait to hear about results!!!:)
IMAX blast only huh? I did that once with IMAX 2...it's in interesting feeling to do that...couldn't decide if it was easier or harder than putting the step routines in between!

Heidi, drinking enough water can be tough, huh? I know some days it goes down so easy and other days I feel like I'm drowning cause I have to force it down. LOL

TGIF to all!:)

I have created a rotation which I will begin on Monday so I will play around until then...

Today I am hoping to get to the gym. I created a 40 min Tempo Run for the rotation I am doing and would like to get to the gym to try it out.

Gloria, of course we HAVEN'T forgotten about you. I'm glad you checked in....no more lurking K? Even just a quick check-in is great.

Looks like you yourself are doing great too!

Heidi

Just a quick check in to say hello to everyone. Today is a rest day for me other than maybe 30 min of yoga. I am off to dental appts today . I'm glad I scheduled my rest day today since my 5k is tomorrow and I have to go to the dentist with 3 kids. Have a great day eveyone. I'm sorry I don't have time for personals this morning. That's not much of a rest day with dentist appointments! :7

We're rootin' for ya for your 5K tomorrow!

Heidi

Kathy-I too am intrigued with your program and meals, etc. It sounds like AWESOME and I'm glad it's working for YOU!!!!!!!!

Heidi-Enjoy ME today!

Wendy-enjoy your run today!!!!!!!!!!

All this talk about CTX. I may have to use that next week. We'll see.

As for me, I was up early and dug out a long-unused DVD...Spinervals! Sweating Buckets, and I DID! LOL. For whatever reason, last night I just got the urge when I saw it on my shelf! I followed that up with Core Max #2 and then a 10 minute Bosu workout. FELT GREAT!

I'm packing the car for our weekend camping trip and will be heading out as soon as the bus comes this afternoon! I'm really looking forward to it. No workout planned for tomorrow besides the archery, b.b. gun shooting, relay races. Sunday night or afternoon, I'll do my long run of 6 miles and more core work.

Gayle

12-Week Check-in

Good morning! I am planning to enjoy my rest day! Other than that, this challenge is not going according to plan for me. I am not making as much progress as I had hoped mainly due to setbacks like my bad experience with the soy protein drink last week. The bloat is departing this week. I am a month into this challenge and have not made any visible progress. Unless something radically changes between now and the end of this challenge, I will not be sharing pictures of me in workout clothes!

Kathy, you are doing great. I cannot imagine how you survived on 1,200 calories a day. That is way too low for all the tough workouts you do. I am glad you found something that is energizing you and making you feel better.

Heidi, the CTX Series is great. I am hoping to see some good results from this rotation. I really like working one muscle group a day. I never imagined that I would, but I do!

Wendy, I hope you enjoy your new rotation.

Gloria, I am glad to see you posting again. Do you have a game plan for your weekend eating?

Karen, enjoy your rest day.

Gayle, enjoy your weekend trip.

Blessings,
Heather B.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Heather, there are still 7 weeks left in this challenge, don't give up on making progress. If you make any progress, you'll be a winner any way you look at it.

Great workout Gayle, enjoy your outdoorsy weekend!

Wendy, good luck with not tampering with your planned rotation once Monday comes......I'm a rotatation tampering addict myself! ;)

Heidi

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Well this morning I got up and weighed in and decided that since the first 4 weeks just came to an end I would go ahead and measure and take pictures. I haven't even loaded the first set onto the computer yet. Now I have two sets. Taking the photos and measurements took longer than I thought so I'll have to figure out later where to get a work out in. It's off to work now. Tonight is dinner with friends so I'll try to keep the calories low throughout the day and order salad for dinner, so I won't be tempted.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Karen, good luck at the race this weekend.

Jean

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Hi ladies,

nice to "see" you gloria:)

Wendy- what type of rotation did you put together?

Kathy- you are doing excellent. your organization is very impressive.

I am going to go to the gym this evening with dh. that's another reason i am excited about the gym me and dh can work out together. Not sure exactly what i am going to do but it will just be cardio today. I thought about itrain but decided to download some songs from itune instead.

I have a big work project due at the end of today so i will be working on that while ds#2 naps.

Enjoy your day ladies....

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Gosh Jean and Karen, you're making me think that maybe I can be brave and take some 4 week progress pictures too. I know I can see the difference in the mirror. Tomorrow is when I do my bf% measurement, I might as well go the whole way and take pics.

Heather, I incorrectly said there were 7 weeks left of the challenge, but there's 8 weeks, duh! :p

Heidi

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Heidi...I've ALREADY tampered with it! LOL Only to add a bit of cardio and abs though and I switched the order of the some of the workouts so it wasn't TOO bad. ;)

Sunny...I put together a rotation that I am HOPING will be a fat burner as well as help me accel at running. I am going on vacation in a month and although I am not unhappy with the way I look, there is always room for improvement!;) Heck, if I couldn't improve then why would I be in this challenge, right? :7
Basically it's 2-3 days of running per week + about 2-3 days of cross-training cardio (elliptical, rebounder, 1/2 imax w/o's) and 3 days of endurance work outs (1 f/b, 1 u/b and 1 l/b). The cardio segments range from 20m to about 50m a piece.

Gloria...No worries about not having time to post. Just post when you can. It's always nice to hear from you. :)

Heather...Try to stay positive girl! I'm sure you'll see some changes soon. You just got through a tough spot. It happens to all of us! Heck, I downed almost a full pint of Ben and Jerry's icecream last night and TOMORROW is the day I am supposed to take my 1 month progress pics, etc! Talk about bad timing for a MAJOR SPLURGE! LOL

Jean...Enjoy your dinner tonight!

Well, I am back from gym and it was a great work out! It ended up taking me 45 mins cause I lost track of time a couple of times LOL! It came out to be a 3 mile (tempo) run not counting w/u and c/d. I am VERY pleased with my performance. :D
