Good Morning!!!

Wendy – I love Cardio and Weights! I don’t know if I would like going to the gym – maybe if I didn’t have my little grandson, I don’t see how you do it with children!!! Looking forward to seeing what you are going to do next!

Karen – I don’t know why I got hungry the other evening but I have to say that I woke up today for the first time with no sugar craving and I am not hungry – I feel really good! Must be all the potatoes!!!

Heidi – cycling works well for me – try it and see if your BF doesn’t begin to shift!!! LL is one of my favorite no nonsense workouts but I think I enjoy Legs and Glutes much more lately!

Gayle – I have to say that your lower body must be awesome, run 3 miles then legs and glutes!!!!! I like Bryan Kest and he is “easy on the eyes” also!

SunnyD – Good workout – we have dwindled haven’t we? I was wondering if everyone was just busy from Mother’s day and getting back in the swing? Hope so!

Jean – Hope you are feeling better today….I hate to be under the weather! Your ride sounds nice!

Heather – Good job on your workout – you are doing great!!!!!

Workout for today:
I am to do 20 minutes of HIIT 4 days a week this week and I have spent a little time trying to figure out HIIT - today I did the Cardio and Abs of Bootcamp - including warm up and stretch 30 minutes, 139 calories burned HR was 102 average/143 maximum. I am really missing that higher calorie burn but I feel so good it is hard to say that this isn’t good for me!

Food for Yesterday:
B - 1/2 cup oatmeal cooked, 4 egg whites, 1 whole egg
S - 2.5 oz turkey breast, 4.5 oz white potatoes, 1 t peanut butter
L - 3 oz salmon, 4 oz sweet potato, 1 t peanut butter
S - 2.5 oz turkey breast, 4 oz white potato, 1 t peanut butter
D - 2.5 oz turkey breast, 4 oz sweet potato, 5 almonds

Goal Review:
Today - Still working on consistency with water, only got in 2 quarts yesterday -- this is much harder at work, just getting up is hard - today I will make it my goal to drink water at least every 2 hours plus lunch - this goal is much more definite!
This Week - Concentrate on eating - this is most important! Totally clean yesterday!
This Month - Lose 4 lbs
This Year - incorporate some outdoor running
Ultimate Summer Shape Up Goals - comfortable size 4, increased cardio capacity, leg definition

Dang - I feel really GOOD today!!! I feel so good I had no idea that I felt bad before????? I am noticing my intense sugar craving going away….!!!!!! In fact I feel pretty satisfied! I am still a little bloated but feeling much better ….don’t know what I am going to wear today?????

Have a great day ladies!!!

Good Morning.

Kathy, sounds like you are already having much success with your new plan! What is HIIT cardio, btw??? I actually find the gym to be a blessing having a child. I bring him to the babysitting room and he gets to play and gets the social interaction w/other kids that he doesn't get at home since he's not in daycare and mom gets to work out at the same time and then when nap time comes I am free to do whatever I want! It's actually pretty great! I still love my Cathe work outs and the general convenience of working out at home so I'll NEVER give it up but the gym is a nice addition.:)

I am resting today. I have not worked out my normal 6 days in a row but I have been hitting it hard and my body has been reminding me of that every day so I need to give it a rest.

I have to figure out what I will do for my next rotation. I was going to do one of Cathe's but I am thinking of doing my own combining mainly SS and running. I would also throw in low impact cardio like spin, rebounding and the elliptical as well I think. I had better get to planning...it always takes me forever to commit to a rotation! LOL :p

Sorry this is so long!

Kathy-is sure sounds like you've got it all together! Tell me, do you think your new change in routine is what is leading to you feeling so GOOD? And if so, what is the theory behind your change? Is is decreased intesntiy or decreased length of high-intensity? I'm very curious!

Wendy-I completely understand about the gym and the babysitting! I am also very glad to hear you appreciate it as opposed to feeling guilty! I just applied for financial assistance to my town's YMCA and would really like to do some swimming and some elliptical there. My older son is old enough to swim at the pool alone, but my younger DS would go to the kids' room for that time, but he's fine with that! Anyway, good for you!

This morning, my workout was another 3 mile run, then PUB up only premix, GS pushups and GS tricpes. Arms are all wiggly! LOL

Cutting grass today, so another cardio workout on tap this morning! LOL

Gayle

Good Morning Everyone. Today was a 5 mile tempo run for me and then the stretch max with the bands. I taped that off of fitv so I don't know it that is one two or three. Anyway water and food went well yesterday. I should have ate more but I did't get home until really late so I thought if I start eating now I'll never stop. You know how sometimes you can be semi hungry but then if you start to eat then you become super hungry. Well, I tried to avoid that last night and ate a chicken salad and brushed my teeth.

Kathy- I love when you put your goal review up there. It makes me keep track of my own. I see the potatoes are working for you. I don't eat white potatoes but I do eat a sweet potaote at least every day. I wonder if they act in the body the same way. HUMMMM!!!!! I hope this continus to work for you. When do you check in to weigh and see if this spikes your metabolism. I know this is like day 2. I'm just eager to see the results because our dilema sounds similar and I wonder if I don't eat enough as well. I wish I knew the magic formula.

Got to scoot. Hello to everyone. I'm off to eat and then to the grocery store.

Good morning Kathy, Wendy, and Gayle. And good morning to the other lovely ladies who haven't shown up here yet.

Kathy, I commend you for doing HIIT. I did that for a little while but have put it aside for now. Even though it was a killer way to do cardio, it still has a dread factor for me. Maybe when my stamina is really really good. So when I see people that do it, I think wow! You're goals look great, you are obviously very very focused!

Wendy, you're smart to listen to your body and take a rest day. And I'm like you, it takes me forever to pick a rotation, or plan one. I research it to death and then can't make up my mind.

Gayle, killer workout!!

Today calls for MIC, which I've never done....I'm scared! ;)

Hi Karen!! I've decided to try zig-zagging my calories, so I'm trying to figure out how many calories I need in one week minus the 3500 calorie deficit to lose a pound a week. Then I'll spread the calories out over the week and have some high and low days. Yesterday I ate about 1900 calories which is kind of high for me, but this morning I weighed not one ounce more than yesterday. Anyways, I've been reading a lot about how people broke long standing plateaus by doing this.

Heidi

Sure Karen, I can try to come up with something for both of us. I'm basing mine on my TDEE which takes into account working out 6 days a week. There are probably a few different ways you can zig-zag your calories.

Heidi

I started to do MIC and I gotta say I was losing motivation big time. So instead I popped in Step Fit but about 30 minutes through I just couldn't go on. I didn't have the energy. So I called it quits. I hate that!!! I had thoughts of doing the treadmill later but I think I'm going to call it a day. I have to remember I did Imax 2 for the first time on Tuesday and my face was red for a long time after that. Maybe my body needs a break!

Heidi

Good Morning ladies,

Wendy- HIIT is high intenisty interval training. It works really great. I went to the gym today. I was so afraid my baby was going to cry as he's never been left with strangers, but he was fine. didn't shed one tear..wooohooo!!! I agree the gym will be a wonderful addition to my home workouts as i won't have to wait for naps and won't have the interruptions. I am psyched to try spinning, maybe on sat.

Today i did legs and i am sure i will feel it as i was able to go heavy at the gym. I also did 3.50 miles on the treadmill earlier this morning.

I too have thought about using the zig-zag method however my calories are always all over the place because i just can't seem to reign in my eating some days:(

Oh well, off too pick up ds # 1 from pre-school and then back home to work on a project that's due in tomorrow.

Have a great remainder of the day ladies!!

Hi Heidi.

I had some trouble at one point losing weight after Joey was born. I lost a bunch of weight w/o trying but then suddenly gained back lik 7 pounds! Turns out I wasn't eating nearly enough! I was told to try the zig zag approach and let me tell you...it's hard work to pay that close attention to your food and the high calorie days sometimes made me feel like puking (LOL!) but IT WORKS!!!! I am THRILLED! It got me down to my pre-pregnancy weight. Once I got there I stopped zig-zagging and just started trying to eat clean and sensibly and have still managed to lose a few extra pounds. :) GO FOR IT...I promise you, you'll see results if you stick with it!

Thanks Wendy!!!!! I've never tried the zig zag approach but it makes so much sense. I'm already used to tracking all my calories, now I'll just have to add the task of having high and low days.

Thanks!
Heidi :)

Hi everyone. Another unrestful night for me, so no exercise this morning. Going to try for another bike ride tonight. HRM said I burned 510 calories on yesterday's ride.

Wendy, the gym does add a newness to working out. I returned to mine every now and again so I don't get burn out.

Gayle, how'd the yard mowing go with wiggly arms? Did you have a hard time keeping the rows straight?

Karen, If you find the magic formula, please be sure to share it with us.

Sunnydelight, be sure to tell us if you take the spin class. I've been interested in trying one, but I'm afraid to do it. I used to love mountain biking on dirt trails, but not only do street riding.

Heidi, don't feel bad that your energy ran out. We all have days like that. Just listen to your body and the endurance will come.

Kathy, I noticed no vegetables in your eating plan. Is this something to boost the metabolism and then you add them back in later in the program?

Also HIIT was mentioned today, Can anyone tell me how often you should do HIIT? I've heard 2 x per week is that correct? Also how high do you let your heart rate get on the intensity part. Mine seems to totally skyrocket.

Hello to Lori and Gloria and everyone I missed. Hope you have a great
day.

Wish me luck at my WI tomorrow.

Jean

G'afternoon ladies.

Jean: I hope you sleep better this evening.

So after wracking my brain and wasting lots of paper :p I have finally created a rotation and by god I am going to stick to it no matter what! I am NOT changing it! Do you hear me!? I am NOT! I will NOT be tempted! NO NO NO!!!!:p :p :p :7 :7 :7 }( }( }(

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh....I feel better now.;)

Alright Picture check in. I took my 30 day pics and only see a very very small difference in the waiste and hips. I guess if that is the place to see it than I should be thankful. It doesn't help that my hair is a diaster in the photos and I have deer in the headlights look about me. I look like the Crazed Nut Fitness Lady.

12-Week Check-in

I did Power Circuit for the first time late tonight. I am not an evening person, but I am determined to stick with my rotation. I also look forward to enjoying a rest day every Friday. I was tired, but I pushed myself through it. I cannot imagine how people exercise at night on a regular basis. I am a morning girl all the way. The workout is great though. I love the floor aerobics with all the triples and turns. The kickboxing circuits are fun too. All in all, Cathe kicked my butt again. Hopefully, this one will not wipe me out as much when I do it in the morning next time. Yes, my chest is sore tonight. My biceps are still a little sore too. My triceps are better though! Something different hurts every day. That is the joy of the CTX Series!

Blessings,
Heather B.
