Hey Girls...did Wendy go and get her kid yet? I think he needs to be feed by now:eek: :7

I just had my second meal and I was famished! And I just did PS UB and a 75 min run outside. Its such a nice day out.
Now I am either going to clean my jeep or take the dogs for a walk.

Be back later!
Lori:)

Hey Gloria,

My name is Wendy, btw. :)

I saw your post and responded but it was late so I'm sure you didn't see it...here...I copied it for you:

I used to zig zag my cals and eat as close to a 50c/30p/20f ratio as I could. I did that while I was actively trying to lose my baby weight. Once I got it off I stopped doing that. Now I just eat as clean/healthy as I see fit and try to eat a protein w/every meal and try to keep the fat down though I obviously do EXCLUDE it. I get my meal ideas from all over creation including some things I have "cooked-up" on my own out of just wanting to try something new.

Sorry if I'm not much help but I'm not exactly on a structured plan.:)

>Girls....do I have to pull this car over or are you going to
>settle down on your own? LOL You are too funny.
>
>Wendy-my body hangs onto water like there is NO TOMORROW when
>I don't eat or drink right. I have to keep in mind, though,
>that the weight of 147 was the day immediately after a 7 day
>binge of eating everything in sight! No workouts for 4 days.
>And a lack of water to dry out a dessert! It's all relative,
>sometimes!
>
>Gotta go...I'm gonna be late.
>
>SETTLE DOWN, GIRLS!
>
>Gayle

I recall my mom having water weight problems as I grew up. She would take an OTC diuretic to get rid of the water though.

I'm glad you recovered from your binge! Now keep up the good work! Remember, it's a cheat MEAL not a cheat WEEK!:p ;) :D

Karen, my Joey would LOVE it if your girls came over and woke him up! I garuntee you he'd be grinning from ear to ear as soon as he opened his eyes! He's a big flirt! ;) :+

Sunny, I thrive on Joey being a good sleeper. That's when I work out, clean the house, and just take down time for myself. If I have another one and he/she is a bad sleeper I think I'll go INSANE! LOL :7 }( :p :+

Ok , I got in my 25 min on the treadmill. It was a little over two miles. I think with that, the yoga and the slow and heavy chest and back, I'm good for the day.

I forgot to mention in my get to know you post that I tend to be a little obsessive about my exercise. I never think that enough is enough. Like to get off that treadmill at only 25 min is really a chore for me. I know I can keep going but have to set limits for mysef to not go overboard. I know it sounds crazy but I think I have the type of personality that trades in one habit for another.

I have gotten much better becaue I use to workout 6 days and then cut it to 5 and now do between five and six. My thing is, that I get anxious if I don't fit in everything I think I should do. Like tomorrow it will just be a run for me and stomachs. I use to have to tack yoga to that to. I don't know why I just did. People tell me it was because I was so much heavier before that subconsciencely I think that may happen again. I had to do so much to lose the weight that it became such a habit that I don't know how to ease up now.I don't know if it's true, but I have to watch myself. Please don't think I'm nuts. Ok the NUT is done talking. karen

Hey Guys ,
Checking in. I'm over my hang-over! YAY! It's day 1 for me since I joined this challenge a little late. I woke up at 6am and did cardio & weights and Turbo Jam 20 min. WHew,that was tough. Being that I've never done step before, it was just so confusing. I previewed the workout once, and I thought it looked easy enough for me to do. Even hubby tried to join me, we looked so funny, being so uncoordinated stepping up and down that step. He was like, " she is no joke". I also explained to him that it was an advance video and that most people have probably done her easier step stuff and already know the moves.Makes sense. Looking forward to doing it again and getting all of the steps.I took my day 1 stats and also took my day 1 pics, YUK! but I have to, it really helps keep me motivated.

Okay everybody have a GREAT DAY!!:) :)

Hey, Karen! I'm the SAME way!!! Yesterday was a rest day and SEVERAL times during the entire stinkin' day, I felt the basement door just CALLING MY NAME! I had to distract myself just to take a rest day! LOL

Thanks, Wendy, for reminding me it's supposed to be a meal, not a week! LOL. I'll remember that next time. For now, no end in site and I am feeling strong.

Had a smoothie for breakfast, half banana and yogurt for a snack, now eating Meatless Taco Soup. YUM!

OK...here's the recipe for

Summer Squash & Sweet Onion Frittata
2 tsp olive oil
1 large sweet onioin, thinly sliced (I used Vidalia)
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
2 small zucchini, cut into matchstick-thin strips
2 small yellow squash, cut into matchstick-thin strips
2 garllic cloves, finely chopped or minced
1/4 tsp salt
4 large eggs
6 egg whites
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
1 Tbls chopped parsley (I used dried)

Preheat over to 350.

Heat oil in a medium nonstick ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 8 minutes. Add the zucchini, squash, garlic, and salt. Cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until squash is softened, about 4 minutes. Uncover and cook, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is evaporated, about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, whisk together the eggs, egg whites, vinegar and pepper in a small bowl.

Stie the egg mixture into the veggies until blended. Reduce the heat to medium and cook, without stirring, until the eggs begin to set, about 3 minutes. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake until the eggs are completely set in the center, about 12-15 minutes. Inver the frittata onto a platter. Sprinkle the top with the parsley.

Makes 4 (LARGE) servings. Here are the #s: 171 calories, 8g fat, 2 g sat fat, 0g trans fat, 212mg chol, 302mg sodium, 12g carbs, 3g fiber, 14g protein, 70mg calcium (weight watchers points = 3)!

ENJOY THIS if you try it. It's very good and yummy. My picky eater of a best friend tried it and asked me to make it again this week. Let me know if any of you try it.

Gayle

Thanks so much Gayle for posting this I can't wait to go buy the ingd. to make it. Also I'm glad you can relate to what I said about being so hard on ourselves just to take one little break. Logicaly you know it's good for you but at the same time you feel anxious about it all day. Good thing is that you are the other nut to my shell. LOL Karen

Wendy-sounds like you figured out how to use the machines, hugh? Great job!

Yeah, I agree that these threads are going to get long! And I'm sure there will be days that I won't be able to keep up with them throughout the day. Being a SAHM, I'm not on the PC as much as I was while I was working.....not really working, lol.

Gayle,

I did the exercises I could figure out! LOL Practice makes perfect though, right? ;)

I know what you mean about being on the PC less now that you are home with your boys! When Joey was a newborn I had sooo much time to kill cause all he did was sleep and eat but now...forget it! I get my mornings before he gets up, nap time (part of it anyway), evenings after he's in bed and then a few mins here and there sporadically through out the day! When I worked at the bank I was here CONSTANTLY! LOL I would take breaks from here to do my job! LOLOL }( :p ;)

Edited to Add:

And ladies...what makes you think a bunch of women rallied behind a common goal would create lots of "talking" and therefore SUUUUPPPPPEEERRRR long threads?!?! :7

Are you trying to say that we women tend to "talk" alot?? :p :7

Oh my, I come home from work and look at the thread! I need you guys today -- I am an Administrative Assistant....guess what week it is? This morning I was greeted at work by an "Insane" boss holding two donuts and some pineapple orange juice -- I managed to waylay that but after the lunch hour he greeted me with a rootbeer float.......made with rootbeer........I caved - I had half and threw it out.....I am seriously going to have a talk with him about food --- he wants to take me to lunch Wednesday ----- the man weighs about 300 lbs no joke........every thing else today was good, I am going to have to not have my dinner because of half of the float.....so I did not eat clean today:( I need to send my logon stuff to work so I can come here and talk for a minute before I am encouraged to stick anything in my mouth.....sweets are my pain.....especially rootbeer floats......and anything with coconut, chocolate, or cherries.....

Oh Kathy don't get to upset. It happens. We still got a long way to go so it's better to get this small set back out of the way. You did the best you could under the circumstances. When you go out for lunch Wed. try and find a big salad and some chicken. When he asks about dessert tell him how stuffed you are. Karen
