10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 5

Morning melters. Any Monday morning weigh-in-ers? Of course, I couldn't resist stepping on the scale and think the needle may have listed a tad to the left. Of course, it could have been a trick of the light, but I'll be happy to take a possible half pound drop. Today, after work and errands, the plan is to do 4DS HIS chest/back along with segment 1 of core max and 8 pikes on the balance ball. Dinner plans are for a large salad, since DH will be working. See you later.

RE: 10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 4

Hi Robin!

I won't be weighing in today. I won't be going near the scale until probably some time next week (next Friday) because the PMS bloat has begun and it doesn't dissipate until a few days into TTOM.

Robin - it's only ever a trick of the light when you've GAINED! It's always right on when you've lost ;) And I think we only lost an hour yesterday, not a whole day. It's the 5th:p

Okay, off to prepare for the day. I'll check back in later with y'all.

RE: 10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 4

Shelley, I heard the date on the news on the way to work and cringed. I even looked at my Cathe calender this morning before posting. That must have been another trick of the light.

RE: 10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 4

That light can be very tricky Robin.

Hey can I join in ? I made the mistake of jumping on the scale after 3 slices of Pizza and an untold number of girl scout cookies!

What is the MO here?

RE: 10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 4

Good Morning!

No weighing in here till Thursday..especially after a weekend with a baby shower and food I should not have eaten.x( .

My weight loss has slowed down since I hit the 15 pound mark.. I was happy with 1 pound per week, now I'm lucky to get 1/2 pound.. is this a plateau? anyone know a way to bust through it?

RE: 10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 4

Ack. Shelley--I'm another one who's going to have the TOM bloat this week. Probably start in a couple days. Not only do I get the bloat and all that, but I get terrible munchies with PMS. I try to control it but it's really tough. The good news is after this go-round, I'm starting a Pill that does 3 months straight without a period. I look forward to that but I hope I don't get migraines (I tend to get migraines when I switch birth control around).

OK, well, I started off today with a big dose of TMI for ya. Let's see if I can write something more normal now. I am still under the weather (what a weird phrase that is) but I hope to do some step aerobics later--haven't decided on a workout--I've got so many great new things to try. It might be Kelly Coffey-Meyer's new Cardio Kick Step-Boxing. I thought her original step-boxing workout was too fast and ended up selling it, so I'm not sure why I preordered this one--hope I like it better.

Hi Robin--I like the idea of being melters.

Welcome, Judy.

Hi Deb--I wish I knew a way to bust through a plateau as I've been stuck on one since I lost 25 lbs. I'd like to lose 10-15 more but I wonder if I'm just not as motivated since I got to this size. Sometimes I wonder if this isn't just where I should be (though I'm at the top of the healthy range--a few more pounds and I'm overweight again).

Good Morning Everyone!

I tricked myself with the clock -- so I DID get up this morning! Yeah!! I just pretended that the clocks did NOT move back. So, we'll see how long that lasts!

I'm right there with you Lainie. I'm at a pretty good weight, but if I gained a few more pounds I wouldn't feel so good. I'd rather give myself more of a buffer - like 10 lbs more! I feel like maybe this is where I should be also -- but man I love it when I weigh 10 pounds less than I currently weigh.

Now that the Halloween candy is out of the house I'm ready to buckle down with the eating!! I've got my turkey sandwich packed for lunch - and I WILL NOT hit the vending machine for a "side" to go with it!! :)

RE: 10 pound meltdown - Monday Nov 4

Yeah, so I stepped on the scale and I am up a pound. But I ate really late last night, like 10pm. It was a WW meal, but still. That always happens when I eat late. I did good yesterday though. Trying to think of what to have for dinner tonight with the boys, no work. Was thinking maybe some venison burgers!! No bun of course!

My obliques are very sore!! But last night mmy lower back hurt very badly. SO I am supposed to do BBC full body, but will wait till later tonight to see how the back feels. I really want to do some cardio though too. Haven't done step in awhile, so maybe that.

judy-- so happy to see you here! I have been craving pizza, haven't had it in so long!!

Robin- great job on your 1/2 pound LOSS!!!

Shelly and Lainie- I have had the period bloat all thru the weekend and stuff. What misery. I crave schocolate, but it wasn't too bad.

Michelle- great idea with the clock!!!

Good morning everybody!

As expected, yesterday was a bad day for clean eating, but not quite as bad as I had anticipated. I tried to plan for the BBQ dinner by eating very clean and low cal for breakfast and lunch. Of course, when I got to my sister's house she had candy dishes sitting out filled with "fun size" candy bars left over from Halloween ;( . Would someone please explain to me why they call them "FUN"!? Thankfully I stopped myself after 1 snicker bar and 1 Reese's PB cup :D

Yesterday was a rest day but I was keyed up when I got home last night so I did a segment from Classical Stretch.

This is the beginning of week six of my rotation and I wonder if I should switch things up a bit. I've been doing 3 days of full body weights (either a circuit or Jari Love's Get Ripped), and 3 to 5 cardio workouts every week. What do you guys think? Should I stick with this or start a split rotation? My original plan was to stick with this rotation for 90 days.

Robin, ^5's for your mini melt! I'd take that and be thrilled with it! It sounds like you have an ambitious workout planned for today. Good for you!!

Lanie, Shelley, and Meaghan -- I'm sorry about your TTOM woes. The only positive thing about PMS is that it's a temporary affliction. I'll pray for your bloat and cravings ;)

Judy, by all means, we'd LOVE to have you!!:) I've been limiting myself to pizza made with WW pita bread and roasted veggies. They actually taste pretty good.

Deb, congratulations on your weight loss so far!! If you ever figure out how to bust through your plateau please share the information ;(

Michelle, good for you for tricking yourself with the clock! That was a pretty crafty move ;) . I hope you can keep it up.

Good luck everyone!!

Good morning,
I've joined the rest of the crew Lanie, Shelley, and Meaghan...TTOM...so I am not weighing in until end of the week. I've been having a hard time cleaning up my eating...so yesterday I got The Sonoma Diet book from the library. I like this one because after 10 days you add in a class of wine each day if you'd like. I realize I don't really need a book...eating well is pretty much common sense...but I feel like having guidelines in black & white is very helpful. So today I had 3 eggs whites & a piece of dry whole grain toast and for snack had a small handful of almonds.

I'm getting ready to head to the basement & do 4DS High Intensity Step/Chest & Back as I also plan on doing November rotation starting today.

Have a great day!

Sarah

Greetings from the west coast everyone. Time changes feel so weird, even my dog is confused!:7

Yesterday was spent laying around watching movies-something I only do one day out of the month-the first period day which is so horrid I am considering getting that surgery that controls your bleeding. Sorry, TMI. Anyway, I made that "No Pudge" brownie mix and me and DH picked at it all day, I had soup, grapes, chicken breast and some crackers. Not horrid, but not great. Will weigh-in Wednesday or Thursday this week!

I am in serious mode now, am really watching everything I ingest and am bound determined to lose at least 1-2 pounds every week. My folks are coming up on the 20th and I want to look my best. Its all about cutting the sugar and extra portions/snacks right? I want to make these long term changes so the word for me this week is "Self-Control!"}( I have the workout discipline for sure, its the food and drink that get me-obviously.

I planned on doing Bootcamp/Bi/Tri today.

Robin, I was a "gypsy" for about 4 years, I traveled from Seattle to New Hampshire and wound up in Wilkes Barre and Portland MA for a few years. Long sordid story, it would actually make a great novel someday...

Sympathies to my fellow PMS/TOTM sisters. This too shall pass, and when it does, you will have lost at least 2 pounds.

A great day to all. :7

Sarah - I think I need that book - a glass of wine each day, yeah!

I've been eating pretty good lately, my "splurg" has been the South Beach Diet pizzas. I love those. And while the family is eating delivery I feel like I'm splurging, but really I'm not!

Here's to getting serious with all my other meals!!!

Michelle

Thanks for the welcome ladies :)

I haven't been good at posting lately but with a new thread and old friends to be accountable to Hopefully I will. (Robin I just am over whelmed with trying to reply to every lovely OAL person so I only attempt it when I have mighty ambition, but I will alyays love all of the OAL!!!)

The day began with a six mile run to iTread 36 outdoors followed by a stretch. I parked at the grocery store (Wegmans of course) and did my grocery shopping right after stretching . Breakfast was a soy latte and bran muffin at the store. This was not exactly my best choice, but it will be fine. Lunch will be roasted brussels sprouts and a lean protein of some sort and an apple. Snack may be a coffee and another apple. Dinner will be lemon caper tilapia, and escarole with beans. (Wegmans recipes)
Hopefully this evening will only be peppermint tea.

I had my kashi BB waffles with sugar free, very low cal syrup. And I had a salad for lunch. The dressing wasn't the best, but it could have been worse! I haven't really decided on dinner. Prolly not venisen, since I forgot to take it out of the freezer. I should make some sort of chicken.
But it WON'T be pizza! LOL

Hi melters. I bit the bullet and stood on the scale today. With South Beach week one behind me, I'm down 4.8. I'm not really doing the happy dance because week one is always just the water weight. Wish it came off that fast normally! The 'hard lard' is a little more stubborn. After one more week of the super strict phase one, next week I can start adding some more carbs. I think I can have my oatmeal back and (insert evil laugh here }( ) I can also add a glass of wine here and there too.

I've been doing the 4DS series last couple weeks. Over the weekend I did Boot Camp and Kickbox. Since my triceps, biceps and legs were still so sore this morning, I opted for Christi Taylor Step Heaven this morning instead of more weight work. Back to weights tomorrow.

Robin: yes I remember you from the Road Trip. You were set up behind me for step class. You didn't know it at the time but thanks to you I got the turn in and shuffle down the step move that day. Since we had our back to Cathe for that move I just watched what you did and followed you! Have you noticed that some of step sequences and kickbox combinations from the RT were also in the new series?

Judy: um, yeah, stepping on the scale after 3 slices of pizza and cookies is not a good idea! I don't know about you but pizza also makes me incredibly thirsty, so for me pizza also adds the wonderful water weight. Pizza was my 'last meal' before starting this 10 pound thing.

Lainie: I'm at the top of my weight range too. It will be nice to get a little wiggle room back!

Tneah: Sounds like you've got your game face on! Getting the mindset to do this weight loss thing is 90% of the effort.

TK,

You look amazing, what the heck do you need to lose weight for??:) Serious?
Congrads on the water loss. Hope to see some myself sooner than later, periods suck, but the water thing is horrid. I swear my clothes fit tighter today than they did yesterday-they do! But I know you cannot possibly gain fat weight in two days, so I march on, clutching my cauliflower and tuna fish today!}(

Sigh. Feeling fat and gross. Will get over it. Sigh.:p

Oh, I am starting to serve my meals or whatever on small salad plates to help with portion control. I think that will help me alot since I am a human garbage truck sometimes!;-)

TK, I'm glad I wasn't misleading you at the Road Trip!

tneah, ask TK what she is known as around the marina where she is renovating her boat.

I did pretty good eating wise today. No sweets. But I do eat a lot of fruit. I probably should cut down there a bit. I think I have about 4 or five servings of fruit a day.

Uh, TK, what are you known as around the marina??:) C'mon, fess up!

Robin, I have personally never heard of anyone gaining weight eating fruits and veggies in their pure state right? Frankly,I think your "fruit fetish" is a pretty healthy habit.
:) Now I am off for some gentle "walk away the water weight" with my pooch.

Oh yeah, one more thing. That Dessert Protein mix satisfies even the most evil sweet tooth, and it keeps you full and quite happy for hours afterwards! I swore off protein drinks forever until I found this mentioned on a thread here. It is so good, you swear you are drinking a real milkshake. A great mid-afternoon snack when the sugar bug starts bitin'.:)
