1,000,000th Cathe Exercise Calorie burned!

Gobias

Cathlete
What a fun accomplishment! I was just updating my Workout Manager and on Monday, 8/14/17, I reached my One Millionth Calorie burned from Cathe workouts! It took about 6.5 years and I am sure it is a bit off since I haven't always recorded all workout days, especially while travelling.

I must say that it has been a fun 1,000,000 calories (burpees and all) with such variety. People ask if I get sick of / bored of always working out at home in the same room to the same instructor and I tell them with premixes, etc., there are probably over 300 different options. In fact, a few years ago I did an entire year of not repeating one exact Cathe workout and I swear I still had leftover options at the end of the year. (Ironic since these people usually run. Run the same course at the same pace for the same distance; day in and day out.)

Thank you, Cathe for making such fun workouts with a great cast on superb quality videos...and for giving me a great bod! I only wish I had found you earlier in life. And after doing 1,000,000 calories with you, I must use this time to say "Bring back more step!" PRS, Step Blast, Body Max2, Imax, Rhythmic Step....I throw this request in any post whenever I can.

Hi Gobias, that is so interesting that you have accomplished burning 1,000,000 calories with Cathe!!! I agree with you as far as using Cathe every day - I just do not get bored with her at all. With so many options, it's impossible to get tired of Cathe - never will happen. I also love Step DVDs - I hope she does more of them!!

Any congrats on your One Millionth Calorie Burn!!!

Hooray for you, Gobias! Hard to get bored with Cathe when you are having fun and getting stronger along the way! I don't know if you are a Live subscriber but she has some classic Cathe step workouts in the Live archives, with the most recent one being taped last Thursday. As a fellow stepaholic, I can confidently say that you would love these!

Well done Gobias!

Yes: we still love Step! Athletic step please, with intensity bursts.

I am going back to doing Powermax and Step Works, which I used to do assiduously until RS and Step Blast came along. But I am realizing again how fab they are. I previewed Step Works again last night and while, I wouldn't listen to that music outside of this workout (!!), the intensity and non-stop quality of this workout never lets up! She's got drills and little energy bursts in every section and the middle section: whoah! She repeats it 6-8 times and inserts round-the-world energy blasts in between each!

I'm doing Step Works next time I have energy to burn!!

Unfortunately, I do not have Cathe Live. My internet just won't support it at home or on travel. I bought the entire digital library to use the original Blender to make my own workouts....right when they stopped supporting it, therefore that won't work for me either. I am looking forward to the day Live will work for me (and the new Blender).

Lisa & Clare - good idea...I am going to pull out some classic step workouts. I have a 3 week interim coming up next month and do not have a rotation planned yet. I think I will do 4DS for weights with classic step workouts. I actually quickly previewed the workouts that come on the Classics and Cardio Hits DVDs and was laughing. The thong body suit - I remember those! And the music, hair and Macarena - oh, those bring back good memories. I started with step and it was during such a fun time in my life.

Yeah, the clothing is weird, but these step workouts are no push over!

Have fun!!

Oh my goodness - I did the three workouts from CARDIO HITS over the past weekend and what fun! For those of you who like step, I think all three workouts on that DVD are great. As with most of Cathe's step workouts, you can easily modify to make it harder or easier. Clare, I am so glad you mentioned these workouts because I haven't thought about them in years. I am going to do them again this weekend.

Yes, they are dated in clothing (thong!) and music (Macarena!), and there is a lot of "whooping", but I like the nostalgia, as it reminds me of when I first started doing step 20 years ago (!). (In fact, my guy came into the workout room during one of the workouts to see what the heck was going on...it was cast "whooping". He said he thought I fell and was crying in pain. That made me laugh.)

On another note, I want to thank all workout producers who quit with the annoying filming that was popular 20-ish years ago. The quick zooming, the filming at a 45 degree angle, the inexplainable close up focusing on a blank wall....I always found it so frustrating to be trying to watch, and learn, a complicated step move while mirroring the instructor with my back to the TV, only to have a 45 degree angle shot zooming all over the place with a sudden close up of a blank wall. LOL.

Nice workouts, nice memories.
