Good morning, cheetahs!
Happy Friday!
Linda—So sorry DD had another attack. She’ll be in thought & prayer…I had the chills reading about the significance of the phrase “To Run Five Miles.” Maybe for your next marathon? At the last minute (after watching Spirit in the hotel), I decided to tape my name on the front of my shirt, but all the letters fell off before mile 3. *lol* Next time, I’d say ironing on beforehand would be best. Posh, Carole, and Shelly are, of course, are the great gurus with many of these bad boys under their belts, but I would say if you feel up to it, definitely you could do some easy runs; u/b weights—yes; but leg work—personally, no, I wouldn’t do that just yet. I was just telling Carole that my knees have been feeling a little “tired.” No major pains or serious concerns, but it does drive home the idea that the body needs maybe a little more time than I thought to fully recover. I think the best thing is to pay close attention to your energy levels and how your body feels, and ease into whatever you do. If it hurts, as Carole advised Dallas earlier, just stop. J …I thought the iClimb with Buddy was a good workout. The music isn’t remarkable, but that doesn’t necessarily phase me much. Buddy’s pretty good. He does say the word “yeah” a lot at the end of his sentences, but not to the point where you want to shoot him. J I liked that he had you lean forward, lean backward, and go backwards during certain segments. Overall, though, it is billed as a beginner iClimb, so I think adding the vest was a good option. I was definitely drenched at the end.
Shelly—I don’t think I’d be downloading any more iTrains, either, but I did buy the resolutions package right before the prices went up, so I have a few credits remaining. I believe if I don’t use ‘em, I lose ‘em. You are one tough cheetah plowing on the way you do.
Jackie—I don’t think I would’ve really wanted to be in Grant Park. As exciting as it looked, I’m not one for a crushing sort of crowd. I need to hear the full speech as well. Are the Obama girls not the cutest, little things ever? I’m so happy they are getting a puppy! J…Sounds like a nice balance with the 5.1, shoulders, and yoga.
Dallas—glad the massage therapist (or was it the chiro?) pinpointed the problem and provided some relief…Oh, I’m glad your friend’s son successfully completed chemo treatment, and I wish your other friend’s daughter all the strength in the world. MIL, too. Good that she’s almost at the end of treatment. Keep us posted re: the surgery…My feet have gone numb on the EXT a few times.
Carole—LMBO because I could just envision the smiley for that. Now I’ve got Irene Cara stuck in my brain. J I bet that was a real high enjoying the return of your speed. Awesome! You are hittin' every single one of your goals. Inspiring!
Christine—perhaps this calls for a cheetah convention in Hawaii.
ha ha. Sounds like a great combo pairing Imax2 with PH. Thanks for the idea. Genie hops—hmm, think I’ve encountered them in another workout of hers. Five-and-a-half hours of meetings within two days sounds like torture.
Karen—glad you had a fun, educational experience with the Lenni Lenape.
Wendi—indeed, I was off yesterday and today, too. WOO-HOO...life is gooood.
Hope you had a good night at the lanes. Sorry, but I have to side with Carole on that rendition of “Buttercup.”
Finally, a day with no nasty rain in the forecast—yippee! I'll be heading out there for a run later in the morning.
Have a wonderful day!
