    Jersey Shore question

We love the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk for family fun. They have a small amusement park for the kiddies.

    Do you like to entertain?

Before kids I entertained a lot. Now that all of my friends (including us) have children and most are under the age of ten, I've cut back on the invitations. No matter how well behaved the kids were, they eventually ended up trashing the house and I got tired of all the clean up. On the rare...

    high blood pressure and exercise

My B/P is borderline high, which bothers me because I work out a lot and do lots of cardio, but as my doctor said; I have a family history of hypertension and despite the fact I eat right and exercise, I'm still at risk. I'm just watching it for now, and I do have the "white coat syndrome" so...

Anyone else out there with braces on their teeth?

I got braces at 40 and wore them for a year. My braces were heavy duty, lots of metal and a real PIA to clean. A waterpick was my best friend. That and wax. I never left the house without it. If your ortho gives you a choice get the permament retainers. I wear the plastic retainers and...

strike zone or in the ring?

I agree, they are two completely different workouts. Like with all Amy's cardio workouts, it sneaks up on you and you're having so much fun you don't realize you're sweating. Sure there's a learning curve, and her cuing can be frustrating, but once you get the hang of it I think you'll really...

    Advice on rice cookers

Nadja, I have a Black and Decker rice cooker too, got it for $17. One thing that frustrates me is that it has an opening in the lid to let the steam escape. Problem is, the starchy steam "spits" all over my counter, esp. when I cook white rice. Do you find this to be a problem?

    Excercise and vacation

I'm planning a two week vacation out west in July. We don't usually go away that long and I'm not too happy with the thought of taking two weeks off from strength training. In the past when we've taken long road trips I've brought stuff like Slim Series and a couple of hand weights with me to...

    Barry's Boot Camp

The original series (I guess you call it the Academy series) is tough and kicks my butt. I do a rotation of it when I want to shape up for an event. I'll probably start a BBC rotation soon for bikini season. This new series doesn't look all that tough, judging from the infommercials. I'll be...

Who isn't going on a RT this year?

    I'm not even interested.

Tracy Stahle Body Master Challenge Series - All 5

I previewed Circuit Zone and it looks great! It's got lots of kickboxing moves and drills that will prepare me for, and compliment Strike Zone, which I'm eagerly awaiting!

Reviews/comments on Tracey Staehle new Circuit Zone?

RE: Reviews/comments on Tracey Staehle new Circuit Zone... Yeah I heard that too. I just wish she shipped according to order number, like Cathe does. I know it's ridiculous to get worked up over. I just hope I like the workouts because I've never done a Tracey before.

Scrimping $$$ in order to *wildly* splurge!

My only indulgence is in exercise videos. I've learned to cut back on other things to alleviate the guilt. I quit going to an expensive hair stylist, I get my movies from a local library instead of an online subscription plan, and I cook most meals from scratch, so DH doesn't mind the fact...

Reviews/comments on Tracey Staehle new Circuit Zone?

I'm still waiting for mine and I'm a bit annoyed. I live in CT so it shouldn't have taken this long, not to mention I ordered right away. If I don't get it today I'm sending off a nasty email.

    Phobias anyone?

I hate flying. It hasn't stopped me from getting on a plane when I have to, but ever since I've had my kids I've developed a fear of flying. I also hate going to the doctors, and I'm a nurse! I guess it's because I know too much.

    Penzey's spices

My entire spice pantry is filled with Penzey's. We have a store here in CT. I love their Northwoods Seasoning and dried Ancho Chili Peppers. The store spices don't hold a candle to Penzey's, and you can't beat the prices either!

    Bill O'Reilly Rant

True, many talk shows on Fox are indeed on the right, but I don't find their general news reporting to be one-sided. I think they give equal weight to both sides when they report general news, esp. Sam Shepard (who's my fave;-) ). I also prefer Greta to the likes of Nancy Grace. Nancy is as...

This is why I don't agree with BMI standards

Yeah Lorrie, I'd get another doctor. I'm 44, 5'4" and weight 135. I don't have an ounce of fat on my arms or legs, wear a size 4-6, and my measurements are 34-27-34. Anyone tells me I'm borderline overweight is going to end up eating the scale. That's another reason why I never weigh myself!

    Bento's In the Ring--hmmmmmmmmm..........

I did In the Ring today and found it plenty tough. Then again, I haven't done a lot of hi-intensity cardio lately so my endurance could be down. I'll use weighted gloves once I build up my endurance. There's little TIFT'ing, and she throws the combos at you pretty quickly. It was a little...

    Depressed

Sometimes when you're in a downward spiral like that the only way to get out of it is to talk to someone. It might be a good idea to follow the suggestions of others and seek help.

    Who's tried Bento's new workouts?

Pure speculation, but could it have something to do with the whole Clear Channel thing that seemed to have fallen through? Or maybe Chris wanted a more "professional" look to the workouts and NFL delivered. Whatever!
