    Experiences with prednisone?

Thanks, it's a 20 mg dose, so I guess that's low. I'm going to take this whole experience as a lesson--I really need to find an allergist and get my allergies under control and make sure I don't have asthma. I know that I have tendencies that way, so enough fooling around with it. Pretty...

    Experiences with prednisone?

Thanks, I really appreciate it. It's only a 5-day course of it, so I'm not too worried about losing weight while I'm on it. Actually, my throat has hurt so much that the only thing I've been able to eat since Tuesday is soup, ice cream, and tea, and not much of anything, either. I do remember...

    Anybody ever order from fwonline.com

I ordered from them recently. I don't think they emailed me about shipping charges, but there was a problem with my order (their computer system captured only half of it) and they called me and were apologetic and very efficient about fixing the problem. I would definitely order from them again...

    Experiences with prednisone?

I've been sick with a possible combo of strep and bronchitis (yikes, I know--waiting on test results). Couldn't breathe last night and wound up in the ER, where they gave me prednisone for 5 days. I'm scared stiff of this drug. Has anyone here taken it and what have your experiences been...

    Global Warming.....

I've got to agree with Dave. The planet goes through natural heating/cooling cycles; the sun goes through cycles--the polar ice caps on Mars are melting. So I'm not sure we can "stop" global warming. In fact, the computer models that some have used to predict dire consequences in the future re...

    Moms: Sore throat/fever?

    >Bottom line, it's hard for one of us to tell you to go to the >doc or not, as illness can present differently in each of us. >As a parent I can say you learn to "read" your children and >just know when to or not to call the good ol' doc. You would think that after nearly 47 years, I...

    Moms: Sore throat/fever?

<<Do you think it could be strep or perhaps sinusitis?>> That's what I'm worried about. I've hardly sneezed at all, though I'm definitely sick and I had a fever all last night. I don't usually get a fever when I have just a cold.

    Moms: Sore throat/fever?

Yup, had strep probably 20 years ago, and I remember that it hurt a lot. This thing started hurting like that yesterday, then went back to just a normal hurts to swallow thing. I guess if the fever doesn't come back today, I won't go to the dr. So far it's been 6.5 hrs since my last Tylenol.

    Moms: Sore throat/fever?

Thought I'd ask all you moms out there about this, since you probably have a lot of experience figuring this stuff out when your kids are sick. (As opposed to me--I always panic.) At what point do you call the doctor for a fever? I've had this really strange virus for two days now--stuffed nose...

    Noise

Oooh! Let me know how it goes!! }(

    Noise

The NYC Public Library enforces the no cell phones rule. In my local branch, someone's cell phone started ringing once, and one of the librarians *yelled* across the entire library (it's a small branch) Turn that cell phone off! Turn that cell phone off! I think that the cell phone ring was...

    Are you scared to...

<<I've never lied or dissembled about my age. In fact, these days my favorite saying is, "I'm too old for this sh*t." (And there's a lotta sh*t out there!)>> Agreed!! ! Actually, I've been going around work saying that lately--well, without the curse when I talk to my boss. I work in a...

    Allergic to Coffee?

It sounds like some of the symptoms my brother had when we first realized he was allergic to penicillin, back when he was a kid. He had the breathing and the stuffed nose problems, but also got irritable and edgy, too. Might be the mold spores in the coffee bag, might be something in the coffee...

    Mats for a treadmill?

Thanks, Heather. Is it a hard mat? soft? rubber?

    Mats for a treadmill?

Anyone use puzzle mats or other kind of mats under their treadmill? I'm probably going to be buying mats for my weight area from Greatmats.com, but I'm not sure if they will be good enough with my treadmill. I need to keep the noise and vibration from bothering my downstairs neighbors. The...

    Aerobic flooring question

I was looking this up today, actually--I need mats to protect a newly finished wood floor. Here's a good thread I found that talks about all sorts of flooring: http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=2&topic_id=46462&mesg_id=46462&listing_type=search You can also just...

Can we talk about Woody Allen

I don't think that there are actual legal grounds to call him a pedophile. As far as I know, she was of age. On the other hand, for me, it's a moral issue--a 50-60ish man (can't remember his age at the time) with an 18-20 year old--eww. Sure he's a celebrity and they're from Pluto, but that...

    Pyramids or SH?

Thanks Mattea, Leslie and Bam. I don't think that I really have specific goals. I love the definition that I've gotten from GS, and I suppose I want more of that. In fact, I would do GS all the time if I could, but I know that I have to change things up. Not familiar with the CTX workout--will...

    Pyramids or SH?

I can't decide which one of these to get next. I do them both from Fit Tv right now, but want the full DVDs. I currently have all of the GS, plus PS. I like SH because I feel that my form really improves when I use it (don't like it or use it for legs), but I'm not really looking for more muscle...

Can we talk about Woody Allen

I had this long reply typed out, and then my BF said this: "Just because he's a pedophile doesn't mean he isn't talented."
