RE: For those who are married or living with an SO...how are the housework/yard work/childcare responsibilities divided in your home?
We're pretty traditional - no yardwork (we live in an apartment) or kids, but I do the housework. It's more because he's working insane hours and I'm not, so I...
Here's a link to a recent thread about colon cleansing, if you're interested in that:

I have the old Firm barbell, which I like because of the padded bar. When it needs to be replaced, I might go with the Ivanko one which is also padded - I like the Troy Lite one but don't know if it is compatible with the weight plates I have.
I've been married almost three years and kept my name. I never considered otherwise, and I'm polite but persistent about correcting people who address me as Mrs. HisName.

Thanks, Cathy. I don't have anyone to spot me, so I'm on my own. I haven't had trouble in the past with lunges but the slow pace kicked my bootay - maybe I'll go even lighter on weight and try your suggestions about balance. And mixing up the S&H count from 6-2 to 2-6 from set to set is a...
I'm on a three-week rotation using the Slow & Heavies. So far I've done the legs/shoulders and the chest/back workouts, and some exercises are hard to do in the 6-2 count. For example, static lunges - it's hard for me to come up slowly for six counts because (1) I'm not going super deep in...
There was a long thread over at VF recently about plantar fasciitis:

I'm being treated for it right now. Between the podiatrist and my own reading, I've done the following:
1 - Cortisone shots twice. I had NO...
Throwing in my $0.02 on this one - I'm on the Cathe rotation mentioned in the above link.
If you have the time for two-a-day workouts, I've found it to be a sensible plan IF your diet is pretty clean and you'd rather lose fat and gain muscle by adding exercise - two sessions a day...
My lower back sometimes acts up after Power Circuit and I know it's the high-impact floor cardio section that does it. I either modify to low impact or skip that section altogether and do the step portion (which I love) twice. Or I'll tack on a shorter cardio section from another tape.

Kathryn, could you cut down a yoga sticky mat? They're usually pretty soft and would cushion your back better than a towel...
ETA: sorry, didn't see Nancy's post with this idea
Allison;)
I hate noisy eaters - slurpers, smackers, loud chewers - they make me queasy.
I hate groups of people who try to walk four or five abreast on a city sidewalk. And groups that congregate on the corner, so everyone crossing the street from any direction has to detour around them.
And...
Mine's high but I've been told the ratios are OK - total 220, HDL 76, LDL 135, triglycerides 43.
This seems to run in the family (the high LDL but good HDL and tris)- both my mother and brother have similar numbers.

On weekdays, full face - powder, highlighter on my eyelids, pencil eye liner, brow pencil, mascara, lip gloss or stain or stick.
On weekends and days when I'm not doing much, lip goop and maybe mascara.
OK, I did the stability-ball abs section of Core Max today.
It WAS intermediate level - I was able to get through it with no problems, except my wrists were KILLING ME after the rollouts, then rollouts with twists, then pikes. For that reason my pikes were pathetic as I struggled to keep...
I've had my DVDs for a couple of weeks now and the only Core Max segment I've tried is the no-equipment one. I was cruising along, thinking "this isn't hard" and then Cathe laid me out with those planks, especially the final ones where you roll back and forth on your feet.:o I like the...
I love mine - I just have to watch that "rest" doesn't translate into "sit around and eat cookies all day." :P If I eat clean and let my mind relax, I always come back the next day full of energy and ready to dive into my workouts.

I have the Reebok step too - the stepping surface is 6-7" shorter and a couple of...
