    Breastfeeding Question--Am I engorged?

When nursing, the breast are conditioned to nurse at certain intervals. If a feeding is missed, you will leak. I used nursing pads for awhile. It is your decision to pump or not but it doesn't seem as if you are getting over engorged. With DD#1 I became so engorged my chest was rock hard and...

    Need advice...child sleeping problems!

It is hard when us mothers and our kids are sleep deprived. I agree with the advice posted above and am a strong advocate for letting a child cry it out. Everytime you nurse her for comfort, she is being conditioned-cry-cry louder-then get nursed. Everyone I know that finally let the child cry...

    Getting my body back..

Marnie-I truly believe that staying in shape made for easy deliveries with me. I was open to either epideral or natural but hoped to avoid the epideral. With both pregnancies my labor progressed quickly so I didn't need the epideral. I worked out daily and am convinced that the exercise made my...

    Getting my body back..

Marnie-just wanted to give you a positive birth story. With DD #1 I had a slow water leak, didn't realize it though. Did a firm tape then called the doc. Was given potossin that afternoon to induce labor. Felt fine though with mod. contractions. By 6:00 felt awful, asked for epideral, but was...

    Newly pregnant exercise question

Congrats! Just listen to your body. I did both of those during pregnancy. Try them and see how you do with them. The best would be the low impact ones-lowmx, low impact circuit and basic step but I used most of my others just modifying as needed.

    Getting my body back..

If you are nursing, it may take longer to get your body back. At 6 weeks postpartum, I remember complaining about the mommy tummy. Not sure when it disappeared on me but my youngest is now 18 months and the bulge is gone. Once you have your 6 week check up I recommend a mix of both. Once your...

Introduction: New member, first baby and a thousand questions.....

Luli-with my first pregnancy, I felt great just a little tired. My chest did begin to hurt though later in the first trimester. Like you, I worried but relaxed when I had an 8 week ultrasound showing a healthy embryo. I worked out til the end and didn't modify at all my first trimester. I...

    trying to concieve at 39

I was 34 when I got pregnant with DD#1, 37 when I got pregnant with DD#2. It took me 8 months to conveive #1 and about 5 to conveive #2. Stress could alter your cycles delaying ovulation so if you are basing timing on a 28 day cycle you are just misplanning the times. I was charting and...

When did you start exercising again post-partum?

I began walking and post partum exercise videos about 2 weeks postpartum.I resumed low impact aerobics around week 4 and resumed high impact at week 6 postpartum. I did work out almost daily through my pregnancies so listen to your body post partum and rea;lize the weight will come off in time.

Hi, I gave birth to my oldest 6:48 pm on Sept. 12, 2003. I did the firm tortoise at 9 that morning. I didn't realize my water had broken. I gave birth to my youngest 1:30 am on May 19. I worked out til May 18. I did more intense workouts with my second, including many cathes. I cut out very...

Do I need to lose weight before TTC?

So far you have gotten excellent advice. I just want to add my 2 cents worth as a therapist-either sit down with a friend, family member or professional and process your feelings over the miscarriage and allow yourself to grieve. . You probably don't need to diet but do need to find better ways...

    Pre-Pregnancy advice.

My husband and I were married for 6 years before we had our first child. I was 34, he was 38. It took us 8 months of trying but when it finally happened we were in a panic. I wondered , how would I get time for myself? Would I stop exercising? Could I handle it? Can we afford it? Yes, I now...

Hey Moms - Potty Training question!

All the ideas mentioned are great but my piece of advice is don't push it. I began potty traing my daughter at about 3 years old listening to everyone else. She wasn't ready. We had tons of accidents and tons of screaming matches as I felt like a failure. I finally backed off and waited. Each...

    when do you workout?

I have a 4 year old and a 15 month old.I workout almost every day. I try to workout when the baby naps. Sometimes though, she doesn't nap or nap long enough. I usually either put her in the pac and play or let her play around my exercise area. Sometimes this is challenging but I try to keep...

cardio vs. weights to lose baby weight???

I did cardio/weights postpartum . I believe both are equally important. I did do some intense cardio though, such as the imax 2 and 3 blasts only premix. I also did alot of circuit workouts alternated with workouts of shorter, intense cardio+ weight workouts. I lost all my pregnancy weight with...

    What to expect?

I was on the pill for many years before TTC. My period returned the next month. Initially my cycles were 28 days then started varying. I was never regular before the pill though. It took 8 months of trying for us to have dd#1 due to irregular cycles. No side effects of going off the pill. Good...

If you MC'd-did you change behavior when TTC??

I can't offer you personal advice on miscarrying but just want to remind you that miscarriage rarely has anything to do with THE MOTHER'S actions. A healthy embryo can sustain alot, coffe, execise and all that stuff shouldn't cause a miscarriage. From what i've heard women miscarry for many...
