Kathy, my gosh that was a lot of food to make!! I don't know how on earth you can resist all that. I suppose being under someone's plan might help keep you on the straight and narrow! I'm sure you'll start seeing some great progress soon! I myself have made hummus, and now black bean &...

    12 Week Challenge 5-20

Wendy, way to go on all those loses!! How motivating for you! Boy what we can accomplish when we put our minds to it. I think you are right about me not needing much of a calorie reduction, I really do!! I'm going to rework my zig-zagging plan and allow for more calories over all. You've...

    12 Week Challenge 5-20

I just finished CTX Kickbox. I ate some oatmeal with half a banana mashed in, plus a little bit of protein powder for my preworkout meal. Then I had 2 cups of coffee. What a difference in energy for my workouts. Now that doesn't mean I was able to do those power scissors without modifying...

Muscle Endurance not enough leg work

I just did ME yesterday and the leg work seems never ending the way she throws those darn leg presses in here and there!! If anything, it seems the legs are worked the most! }( Make sure you're using a challenging weight load. I woke up with a sore chest this morning too, woo hoo! Heidi

    12 Week Challenge 5-20

Gloria, way to go on resisting all those goodies. And way to go on walking for Relay for Life!!! I measured my bf%, I use an Accumeasure, it's pretty nice to use ONCE you get the hang of it. My bf% stayed the same as last week, but I've lost 1/2" to 3/4" in some places, so that's nice...and...

    12 Week Challenge 5-20

Hi Karen, can't wait to hear how your second 5k experience turns out, I'm sure you'll do great! I admire you for doing this! Today is supposed to be a 40 minute walk/run, but I woke up feeling like I should do some kickboxing since it's so good for trimming the hips and thighs. I think I'll...

How many calories do you take in a day while losing weight with Cathe advanced workouts?

RE: How many calories do you take in a day while losing... I also do zig-zagging, okay well I just started, and it's based on an average of about 1660 calories per day. My one lowest day is about 1200, my highest 2150 (woo hoo!). The other days range somewhere between those numbers. I...

RE: 12-Week Check-in Gosh Jean and Karen, you're making me think that maybe I can be brave and take some 4 week progress pictures too. I know I can see the difference in the mirror. Tomorrow is when I do my bf% measurement, I might as well go the whole way and take pics. Heather, I...

By the way Karen and anyone else who's interesting in zig-zagging, I found a site that I've used before that will calculate a 7 day zig-zag calorie "schedule" for you: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm There's a little link you can click on once it figures out your...

Kathy, I really am impressed, truly. You sound like a woman in training, and in reality aren't we all?! I will make sure to drink enough water this morning, thanks for that suggestion because it is something to watch for. I'm trying to make a list of tips to ensure energy for your workout...

    Oatmeal

I cast another vote for Kashi Go Lean, I have some practically every morning with blueberries, ground flaxseed, and raw sunflower seeds. I could never master cooking oatmeal so I've opted to use Quaker Oats Regular oatmeal in pouches. I cook 1 pouch in 3/4 cups water in the microwave, then...

    12 Week Challenge - 05/18

Thanks Wendy!!!!! I've never tried the zig zag approach but it makes so much sense. I'm already used to tracking all my calories, now I'll just have to add the task of having high and low days. Thanks! Heidi :-)

    12 Week Challenge - 05/18

I started to do MIC and I gotta say I was losing motivation big time. So instead I popped in Step Fit but about 30 minutes through I just couldn't go on. I didn't have the energy. So I called it quits. I hate that!!! I had thoughts of doing the treadmill later but I think I'm going to call...

    12 Week Challenge - 05/18

Sure Karen, I can try to come up with something for both of us. I'm basing mine on my TDEE which takes into account working out 6 days a week. There are probably a few different ways you can zig-zag your calories. Heidi
