How many days a week do you exercise?

My day is almost always day 5. I tend to feel tired and just can't even get into my workout clothes on the fifth day, and have taken it as a sign that, that will be my rest day. But I'm always pretty re-energized on day 6 and ready to go.

    Amy Bento

Well as long as we are going to talk about Amy, let me just put in a glowing recommendation for her new KB2 workout. It combines intervals of kickboxing with kettlebells, it is almost entirely low impact (there are some optional jump kicks), and I work up a crazy good sweat. The kettlebell...

    GOLF ANYONE?

I envy you, I wanted to love it, I tried for 2 years, even went to golf school in tampa for a week each year, but I find it just too mentally draining for me. I am a huge over thinker, I analyze EVERYTHING, and I could not just swing that darn club without thinking of each and every motion and...

    "The Help" purchased today

I am reading this now, I think it's very good. A couple weeks ago I asked for some book suggestions and this was one of them. It's going slowly for me, but it's a very enjoyable read so far.

How many days a week do you exercise?

I get in 5-6 days per week, most of my workouts are about an hour. Right now, I'm relying heavily on kettlebells, kickboxing and boxing dvds. I rest on days when I feel really wiped out, like today. Generally I tend to go for 4 days then take the fifth off. I never schedule a day off because...

    need help

I'm not sure if you have ever done kettlebells, but that is definitely a weighted exercise that creates a cardio effect too without any jumping. You could take a look at Kelly coffey-Meyers Boxing DVD, called TLC. This almost entirely upper body punching, but come to think of it, not sure if...

    Clean eating?

Hi Natalie, thank you again, your philosophy also ties into RapidBreaths suggestion for the 2 or 3 bigger/cheat meal per week. And I don't mind eating the same thing for a few days in a row, sometimes I cook a chili or a stew and my husband isn't home a lot to eat it, so I end up just by...

    Clean eating?

What you said about the "forever" mentality is SO true, wow, that's actually pretty eye opening. If I think about it, of course all my past experience shows I do one thing, then relax, then do another, then relax, but for some reason, every time I think of trying to lose again, I DO feel like...

    Clean eating?

Oh no, I don't take your comments negatively at all. I do dislike counting calories, I try, I write things down, used a variety of online tools, then I just stop. I have been able to really focus and did count points years back, it worked well for me at the time, but never have been able to...

    Clean eating?

Thanks Natalie, that does help, I definitely can eat, and I don't always get full even when I really think I should be. I think you are right, I have to drop my favorites and just use those as my "treat" meals like the steak and pork. I guess I need to start learning how to cook fish, that...

    Clean eating?

Hi Jodelle, thanks for the detailed reply. I would say way more than not, I choose some kind of green veggie or salad with any meal, I rarely eat potatoes and really no grains other than the occasional treat type meal/snack. I have to admit, I do choose fattier meats like steak, lamb and pork...

    Clean eating?

By all the definitions I think I eat pretty clean, it's just that I do not limit my meat to any category of leanness, I'll eat meat lean, fatty , and everything in between. But no matter how may ways I spin it, I am not losing weight. so something has to give. It's just weird, to really eat...

    Clean eating?

Thanks ladies! I suspect you are right, so many people use the term eat clean, but the definitions can be a little vague. I follow more of a "primal' style diet (Mark Sisson), for about a year now, it's just meats, fats, fruits, veggies and nuts, with a little dairy, nothing processed, but I...

    Clean eating?

Hi all, I know this question has been asked, but I'm still not getting it. When most people say "I eat clean" what do they mean? Do they mean I don't eat processed food and sugar? Or are they referring more to something like the Tosca Rena diet? Does clean mean no or low saturated fat? Can...

    personal trainer vrs STS system

I really love STS, but I received the best results of my life working with a trainer. However, when I started with the trainer, I had not been exercising at all, so it was easier for me to make those types of gains since I was starting from ground zero. With STS I definitely gained strength...

How you did to lose weigth?

Hi, since the goal is weight loss, you may want to consider making your weight days full body workouts instead of splits. Or maybe on the upper body only day, keep the weights to a 30 minute session and add in a HIIT workout? Some research shows better long term calorie burn from HIIT...

Should I take a break from exercising?

A few days off, even a week really should not result in weight gain or muscle loss, however to keep your momentum, as the above poster mentioned, try walking instead or swimming if you have a pool available to you, and/or maybe do some upper body workouts to give your knees and legs a break. I...

Help... 19 mos old wont take her meds!!!!

I'm really not a big help since I don't have the experience, but have you tried grinding it up and mixing it in a food with a stronger taste? Applesauce is very mild and probably won't hide the bitter taste. Sorry you are dealing with this :(
