    ADVICE NEEDED ABOUT SHOULDER ISSUES

Hi Iris, I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder. I just aggravated mine yesterday after doing some power yoga. I would really watch it with Jari's millions of reps workouts. They tend to aggravate my shoulders and knees because she does so many reps in them, even if the reps are light weight...

    Cathe demographic poll #4

I'm with Vee...in a perfect world, I would do yoga. And hiking and biking. And in a perfect world I would have won the lottery so that I would have enough time to do all of the yoga, hiking, and biking I want without being interrupted by that crazy thing called work.

    In A Slump

I'm so sorry for your loss. I really agree with what Melclear said and I second the thought of going for walks right now. It will help keep you active but will help mentally as well. Walks are a good way to help clear your mind or work things out, and I always feel better after taking them.

    can someone recommend

Eoin Finn! <3:D Seriously, though, what kind of yoga are you looking for? More active (for lack of a better word), or more stretchy-relaxey? I love Eoin's Power Yoga for Happiness...it's just fabulous. For stretchy-relaxey, I like Sara Ivanhoe's Candlelight Yoga. I just did Bryan Kest's...

    Another night of insomnia!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had this happen on plenty of occasions as well. I tried prescriptions to help me stay asleep but I always had unpleasant side effects. Sometimes I'll take Natural Calm before bed just to help me get a little more rest overall. Celestial Seasonings also has a tea called Sleepytime Extra...

    Odd question for y'all

I call my husband every day when I'm coming home to see if a) he's home yet (he is a utility locator and does not have the same hours every day) and b) if not, when he thinks he'll be home. I will also let him know if I'm running late because I have to stop somewhere on the way home. It's...

    Big Dog Suggestions?

We are big dog people, too. Most of our dogs in the past have been lab mixes and I have to say that labs are energetic and fabulous with kids. I also highly recommend checking out your local shelter(s). You get the best dogs there and nowadays many have pictures of their animals online...

What upcoming / new workouts are you excited about?

Well, I'm really looking forward to Cathe's STS Cardio and all the variety it's going to give me for only $100. I figure it will be well worth the wait! And I got Eoin Finn's Bliss Report email and it said that he shot 6 new routines...I'll have to keep my ear to the ground for that one...

    Heart Rate Monitor Users Question

My HRM came with a booklet explaining the target heart rates. One section used the basic 220-age deal but said that a more accurate way was to use the resting HR plus you also did a couple of things to get the HR up (all the directions were in the booklet) and then figured it out using all that...

Advice needed: too much shoulder work?

That's a good idea, thank you! I was in a car accident several years back and I think I have a little lingering damage from it (from my right shoulder going forward because it wasn't restrained by the seatbelt like my left shoulder was) and so the range of motion is a little smaller and I have...

Advice needed: too much shoulder work?

Would doing a circuit workout one day and a power yoga video the next be too much shoulder work? I do modify my vinyasas as to not put too much strain on my wonky right shoulder and I use light weights (3#) for shoulder work in circuits.

    coffee

I use one drop of liquid stevia in my tea and it's perfect. Not too sweet. I can never gauge how much splenda to use, as one packet is way too much for me. Same with agave...I just can't judge how much to use. For those that like stevia, did you know that they have flavored liquid...

HELP! 1st Job Interview in 15 yrs!

You're going to do better than you think. Last fall I was in the same situation...I had been a SAHM for years and went back to school and so I had my first job interview in a good 10 years. I felt awful afterwards, thinking I did horribly and sounded stupid, but I ended up getting the job...
