My boys first day at doggie daycare/kennel..

Earlier this year when I had to take my dogs to the vet for their check-up/shots, someone brought in their dog (a BIG lab) to be boarded while they went out of town. It was soooo funny because this dog was SOOOO excited to be there! My vet not only boards but does doggy day care and this dog...

    As the economy gets worse......

You need to buy a Tracfone...you can do this at Walmart, Target, even our grocery store has them for about $14, I think. Then you buy the minutes separately. If you do not use a cell phone often, it's a good way to go.

    Really Oily skin

I can agree with that. I live in Colorado, where it is dry, so I have to wear a moisturizer or I'll look like a chapped raisin! LOL But when I visit my folks in NE, where it is humid, I find that I don't really need to wear it as long as I don't use a cleanser that dries out my skin.

Next question for Staying at Home so many years

What about your local workforce center? Actually, I had been a SAHM before going back to school to get my bachelor's degree. I graduated May of last year and really had no job history to show. The temp agency I signed up with helped me to create my resume for the kinds of jobs I was...

    As the economy gets worse......

Like Catherine, we were also doing all those things already because we have a tight budget. We'll occasionally go out to eat - more often than I'd prefer, but neither of us like to cook and we don't spend our money on other things - and I'll occasionally (once or twice a pay period) I'll buy a...

What to do after ten years of stay at home

This is actually something my mom has done over the last couple of years...she is on call sometimes in the event of a fire or something and has had training that would allow her to go to a major disaster area to help out. She really likes it and finds it extremely rewarding.

    Hyperactive Dogs Ruin the News---Hilarious!

That was hilarious! Actually, our local news station showed it the other day, but not the whole thing! The one on the left behaves a lot like one of my dogs. LOL

What to do after ten years of stay at home

Have you thought about going through a temp agency? Especially since you are only in Fl through the winter and then will be moving again for the summer season. A temp agency will give you work here and there, they may be day-long assignments or a two month assignment somewhere. It will give...

What is up With My Neti Pot?!

That's weird...I was just going to ask if you were forgetting to put the salt in. Maybe the membranes in your nose are super sensitive right now? I hope you get it figured out because a neti pot is invaluable for allergies!

    Really Oily skin

I generally use 2 drops on my face sometimes 3 or 4 on my face and neck but no more than that. The key is to put it on a damp/wet face. After I wash my face and rinse it, I will wipe the extra water off my face with my hand, but it is still kind of wet (I leave my hands wet, too). Then I put...

    Really Oily skin

I bought it at The Vitamin Cottage. You can get it at Whole Foods, places like that, or you can buy it online.

    Really Oily skin

Nora, do you frequent the EDM forums? I use that as well (SOOOO much better than BE!!) and have gotten quite a few natural skin care tips there.

    Really Oily skin

Just something to keep in mind...be careful what you use on your skin, because if you use something to strip the oil without giving back moisture, it will cause your skin to produce even more oil. I like to use either Olay face cloths or Alba's pineapple enzyme cleanser (smells so fabulous!!)...

Would you let your 13 yo daughter do this?

Definitely not. Just because they can does not mean they should.

    Son's school getting on board!

My daughter has told me about the kinds of things her classmates bring to school as well and I'm shocked. It's not like my daughter isn't allowed to eat any junk food, but I think that during the daytime (breakfast, snack, lunch) it's incredibly important that she eats well so that she doesn't...

    Son's school getting on board!

I was really surprised, actually. So many kids bring absolute crap to eat for their snacks and lunches. I have always taken great care to make sure my daughter gets a good, healthy lunch and even her snacks are pretty healthy. The junkiest thing I will send her with is the occasional goldfish...

    Son's school getting on board!

Nan, my 10yo daughter came home with a similar letter! I make her a balanced, healthy lunch to take but did let her take goldfish crackers (1/2 whole grain, 1/2 extra cheddar) as a snack today and she was told that if she wants goldfish crackers for a snack that she needs to pair it up with...

    diet strickness

I make it my goal to eat well about 85% of the time. It's very doable for me and helps me to maintain. I am not looking to grace the covers of Oxygen, so I have no desire to have a really strict diet...I like food (and dessert) too much. I make good choices at restaurants most of the time and...

Ellie - my MIL has gone back to school part time (she also owns her own advertising company) and she is in her late 50's. She has a degree in some kind of business/marketing area but is going back to get some kind of education degree so she can work with disabled children. I like LauraMax's...
