Appalled With How Federal Government Handled Katrina Disaster

RE: Appalled With How Federal Government Handled Katrin... I don't feel that blame is the best thing to be thinking about at this point. But, I understand the frustration that would make everyone want to. My first thought was what was wrong with the city of New Orleans that they were so...

    Your First Big Rock Concert?

Oh boy....the memories. My first concert was the Grateful Dead at the Philadelphia Spectrum in 1977. My second concert was Billy Joel at the Philly Spectrum in 1978. My third concert was Willie Nelson at the Philly Spectrum in 1982. As you can tell, I have rather eclectic taste...

    Why?

I don't think the people are being intentionally mislead. In a situation like this, confusion is bound to happen at least in the short term. I'm encouraged that the national guard has arrived. Rescue efforts will be so much more effective if they aren't being shot at! Please don't take...

Are you related to anyone famous?

Not sure if this counts but..... I'm related to Martha Washington's first husband, Daniel Park Custis. His cousin, Steven Custis, married a relative of mine. In some weird way, does this make me part of the family to our founding father? ;)

My home is about to become a shelter (Katrina)

Bless you and your family for their generosity. I only wished I lived closer so I could do more than donations. Doesn't seem quite enough when you look at the devastation. Anyway, ground rules are going to be a "Must Have" item. I would suggest sitting down with the adults and talking...

Cathe - question on equipment used in Low Impact Step

Hi Cathe, I'm new here and just received my preorder of the new DVd's. I loved Low Impact Step. Very nicely done! My question is about the step used in the workout. It looked smaller than average. Would you tell me the dimensions of this box? thanks

should you teach a boy to like boy things?

Don't worry. Your son sounds exactly like a boy his age should be. I raised two sons. The youngest is turning 18 this year. When they were 3 & 5, their easter baskets had My Little Pony toys. They loved everything with the wonderful innocence of not having it be labeled a boy or girl toy...

    What's your favorite salad lettuce?

I love a mix of romaine and red leaf. I have never tried chicory and honestly don't even know where to find it. My favorite salad is lettuce (see above) with red cabbage, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, celery and carrots. Top with warm flaked salmon. Drizzle with fat free poppy...

    cast out of shape !!!!

I have read some really wild stuff on the collage boards. Boggles the mind sometimes. In the defense of Cathe and the Firm, both groups of leads and cast are in great shape. I don't think there is room for insult on either side. Sometimes, I wonder where peoples heads are when they speak.

Kinda bummed, I just found out

I'm so sorry. I do know someone with Celiac disease. She is an adult but the disease just started. It's odd how the body changes sometimes. Her treatment is strictly diet based. No wheat in any form, period. It's going to be very rough as wheat is an american staple in almost everything...

    Stray Cat/ Vet Question...help!

For question #1, I think the vet is the only answer. The poor thing may be suffering from unknown illnesses that only a Doc can diagnose. For question #2, my kitty had to have dental work done for a similar condition. We were moving cross country and I needed a health certificate for him to...

Humus...What do i do with it?

I like using it as... Dip with celery and carrot sticks. a spread on quartered whole wheat pita bread (small) with tomato slices. I like the hummus that has flavors in it like roasted pepper or garlic and onion.

Would You Rat the Kid Out? :)

Sparrow, Dinner on the deck sounds perfect. When I was 13, all I wanted was someone to care what I was thinking. Just ask open ended questions and try and get her to chat on topics that interest her. Maybe you could be prepared with a few "I need a teen opinion on..." type questions...

Firefighters and why they are so buff!!!!

The town I grew up with had pot bellied type cops. However, things seem to have changed since then. A black bear wandered down from the mountains and the police were called in to trap him. The local cop who got out of the car could have rivalled Arnold himself. I caught myself gaping. Not...

World's Ugliest Dog: A thing of beauty to it's owner

umm..well...hmmmm.... Well, he gets my vote for the ugliest dog. The photo is somewhat shocking. For every dog there is a human and for every human a dog!
