    Ideas for gear storage?

I exercise in our family room. Like the rest of you, there is issues with where to store my gear. While I haven't found the so-called perfect solution, this is what I have done: - I house all my dumbbells, bands, sliding disks, lifting gloves, etc in a trunk. The trunk doesn't move, so even...

    Ikea question

Another IKEA fan here! :) Proud owner of the Hemnes bedroom series, a few expedits (to house my scrapbook albums - they fit perfectly!) and some odds and ends pieces like the picture ledge (recent purchase - squeeee!), some pictures frames, etc. I go to the Minneapolis IKEA. It's the closest one...

    Does anyone else....

I see so much of myself in your post!! You are definitely NOT alone! I have 3 kids and my husband I also work opposite shifts (and you thought you were the only one who did that!). ;) I've struggled with getting back to "myself" after having my 3rd kid and by that I mean how often I...

    Holy Smokes!!!!!! (Harcore Extreme)

Love that as well! Nothing better than doing a toughie and then being on cloud 9 for the rest of the day as a result. :p I always think I'm "one workout away from a good mood!"

    What is Your Go-To Workout?

My go-to workout is LIC. I open up a big old can of booty-shaking fun when I pop in that DVD. Five stars for the music, the choreography, Cathe's little comments, etc. PS - My "go-to" workout is followed very closely by Drill Max, Step Blast, Etc. With Cathe you can't have just ONE favorite...

What were your first workouts ever???

Darn. I knew I shouldn't have sold my "Buns of Steel" VHS tape at my garage sale 6 years ago. THAT was my first workout video, come to think of it. Not Cathe as I previously posted .... momnesia strikes again. :o I have a pair of leg warmers stashed somewhere. For emergency purposes, or so I...

What were your first workouts ever???

I went to Walmart one day, purchased the basic aerobic step, which came with Cathe's "Basic Step" DVD. This was followed up very shortly by my purchase of LowMax. It was like a lightbulb went off .... DING, DING, DING, DING, DING! ♥ my cathe! :):):)

    Pushups

Don't get discouraged. That's my .02. I also agree with what others said: the more you do the better you'll get at it. I like that advice so much I'm currently using it myself!! :D I used to be able to do all 72 pushups in GS chest/tris. I could do them all on my toes. Just took a little bit...

Which Workout is Your Success Indicator??

Great thread! I would say for a step workout either Lowmax or Imax 2. Whenever I can do either one or both of those workouts in their entirety I know I'm doing something right. They're not Cathe's toughest workouts, per say, but they were some of the first DVDs of hers that I owned. So I guess...

    Hiit/ compared to regular cardio

Thanks for this thread. Great info! I am also going to try adding on Hiit at the end of a steady state workout. I've either done one or the other, never combining them. Can't wait to try it!

    the gym vs exercise vids

GREAT! HILARIOUS! And yet so very, very true!!! I wholeheartedly agree with all of them ... especially the mid-workout bathroom runs. Three kids will do that to ya!:p I, too, wish I had more room so I could leave all my gear laid out and not have to put it away at the end of each workout...

    the gym vs exercise vids

I agree that it depends on the person. Back in 2000-2003 BC (before kids), I used go to the gym regularly. I did a lot of the group aerobic classes and weight work using the machines. I loved it. That's what worked best for me THEN. Nowadays, though, different situation and a whole different...

Christmas letters ... yay or nay??

I agree. It totally depends on who is writing the letter. I find, in our family, those people who are braggy and full of themselves in person are also braggy and full of themselves in their Christmas letter. Humor. Balancing good with bad. Keeping it short and sweet. All good things. I also...

Christmas letters ... yay or nay??

Thoughts on sending out Christmas letters? Are you for it or against? My DH and I used to send out Christmas letters for the first few years of our marriage, but now we don't. We have our reasons .... worried we come across too braggy, feel like we're reapeating stuff people already know...

Never tried an IMAX! Advice please!

I own Imax 2 and Imax 3. Love them both, for different reasons, but Imax 2 is my favorite, hands down!! Everything about it - the music, the choreography, Cathe's little comments - squeee!!!! :D You can't go wrong with 2 or 3, but my vote? Go for Imax 2. You won't be disappointed!

    15 month old not eating....

Going through the same thing here with my 16-month old. I'm attributing it to teething or his newfound stubbornness. ;) This is my 3rd kid, so I know "this too shall pass." You've gotten great advice so far, so can't add much, but I will say all kids go through their phases with eating. If it...

    ...give it 15 minutes...

North Dakota weather is always extreme. We've been super cold lately (11 degrees in the morning, barely above freezing throughout the day) and now the next couple days are supposed to be in the 50s. I just might break out my shorts!!! :p
