    Just started PX90...

I thought the best part of P90X was the strength training. Cardio was okay, but that's where I would sub if you get tired of Tony.

STS 6.5 month rotation re: active recovery weeks

I think it's in the workout manager? Not sure, but essentially you repeat each week twice. So week 1 Meso 1 all 3 workouts. Repeat for a second week. Proceed to week 2 Meso 1 for all 3 workouts, repeat for a second week. At this point you'll have been with STS for one month. Keep with this...

Just entering the world of STS and I'm scared!

When you are doing STS, don't worry if you can't get all the reps. You should be approaching failure, that way you know you are using heavy enough weight. You make a note for your next workout, use a slightly lighter weight next time, but it should not be easy!

STS 6.5 month rotation re: active recovery weeks

I've been doing the 6 month program, too, and am almost done with Meso 2, so about 5 months along. I've found that because Life Happens, I sometimes end up taking say, 4 days off STS, and find that is a good break. Also, I've gotten colds twice, and that just ends up being a rest week no...

    Clean Eating Menu Plan Question

Good for you for sticking to the plans from Clean Eating! I've tried this a couple of times and found it to be tough to only eat 1500-1700 calories a day. I'm constantly amazed to read around here and other places of folks only eating 1300 calories/day. But I digress. I'm no...

    Lots of foxes

I'm in Evergreen and haven't really noticed that many extra foxes around. I'd say we see one about once a week? My brother lives in Monument, in Bent Tree. Maybe he's seeing extra foxes, I'll try to remember to ask him.

Is Picante sauce or salsa "clean food"?

I use the Herdez brand which is available in most grocery stores. The Salsa Casera ingredients: tomatoes, onions, serrano peppers, salt and cilantro. Seems pretty clean except for possibly the salt. I would steer away from ones that add sugar and unpronouncable ingredients and you should be...

    Yoga recommendations

Rodney Yee's AM yoga for your week. I particularly enjoy this as an add-on to a 30 minute cardio workout. Each one is 22 or 23 minutes. Forward bends and hip segments are my favorites.

    Is STS for me??

I think if you focussed on Meso 1 and alternated with cardio, you'd have a great shot at losing a lot of weight. Of course, that assumes a pretty strict, clean diet. You'll get some serious DOMS, though, so you'll have to have a lot of mental toughness to stick to that type of rotation/diet...

    Who takes a multi?

I had essentially stopped taking my multi until my doctor specifically said to take one. He said several studies have shown them to be beneficial in most cases in preventing several diseases. I'm sorry I don't remember which diseases or have the studies to link, etc., but next time you go to...

anyone did not like the results for STS?

I've been doing the STS 6-month program. I have been pretty good with my diet. I loosely follow the eating plans out of "Clean Eating" magazine that I get from the library. I eat between 1500-1800 cals a day. At 47 years old I've been able to lose 5 lbs (out of the 10 total I want to lose)...

    STS 3 1/2 vs 6 1/2 month rotation

Do week one, then repeat week one, do week two, then repeat week two, same for three and four, then rest week. Move on to Meso 2 and do the same. Meso 3 you just do each workout once.

    Hard to Lose Weight-PreMeno-Late 40s

I just have to agree with the whole calories thing. I have been wanting to lose 10 pounds for, about, forever, but finally got serious. I got a "Clean Eating" magazine out the library and loosely have been following their plans. I've been losing about one pound a week for a total so far of 5...

    Equipment Needs for STS

Julie, if you do the one rep max tests, that will give you an idea of what you need to get. Dumbbells are more flexible, but additional plates for your barbell shouldn't be too expensive. You can do most if not all of the barbell stuff with db's so that's where I'd start. I think you'd need...

I think I have had it with my slow cooker

Don't forget that the crockpot was "invented" to cook beans. Dried beans are one of the cheapest, most nutritious things you can buy at the grocery store. I do my beans in the pressure cooker, another amazing appliance, but it would be worth a try to do dry beans.

How can you drink Green tea?!?! YUCK!

another place you can try is www.uptontea.com. What's nice about them is you can order samples so not a big investment to try a lot of different kinds. My personal favorite is the special grade temple of heaven gunpowder since it's stout, not so grassy. But if you are finding you don't like...

    KCM 30 minutes kickbox--SO disappointed!

I found this DVD (the KCM 30 min KB) at my library. I am borrowing for three weeks to see if I like it enough to buy. See if your library has exercise DVD's because this is a great way to try before you buy.

    Jari Love for 3 weeks?

I would say Power Hour and Leaner Legs would both be good as add-ins to a Jari Rotation. Particularly LL as Jari's stuff is not too leg focussed. Those and ME as mentioned above.

    Need some family vacation advice!

If you're thinking of a staycation, but about a dude ranch? I've always thought that would be a fun thing to try. Also, check out the YMCA of the Rockies http://www.ymcarockies.org/. They have tons of things for the entire family. Neither of those options would involve an airplane!

Did My First Kettlebell Workout Yesterday!

Definitely go with Lauren Brooks' Volume 1. I have both and reach for Vol. 1 more than Vol. 2 because I love it so much! Vol. 2 has a killer tabata sequence on it, "The Finisher" and also a hard ab section. Actually, if you're looking for 2 KB DVD's, the two Laurens are what I would...
