    New to the Mac world

I am impatiently waiting for my new Mac to arrive and wondered if anyone has had any problems using this website on a Mac. It will have bootcamp, so I can also switch to Windows, but I'd prefer not to. TIA! Kirsten

TRX Training - has anyone tried it?

Thanks for the great input! I'm glad it is as good as it seems. But it will have to wait until I have a bigger place. I'm in a studio right now and only two doors that are both next to walls, and I highly doubt my landlord would appreciate me putting an anchor in her ceiling! :D I can't wait...

food chains having to post nutritional info

Plus from I understand, it is incredibly expensive - so it would hurt independent/non-chain restaurants financially too. I agree, that it shouldn't be law - I know if something is healthy or not, and if I choose to have a bacon cheeseburger with fries at Red Robin, I know the calorie/fat...

When did opinions start to equal...

I totally agree! It is fortunate that the majority of people are respectful - unfortunately it is sometimes the "bad apples" that stand out.

When did opinions start to equal...

I have never experienced this personally because I don't get involved and stop responding in a thread once it turns negative. But unfortunately, yes, this post is intended for this forum. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often and it seems to be limited to the political/religious/sensitive issue...

When did opinions start to equal...

I agree that one doesn't have to read the posts and that people perceive things differently than others - but if I'm reading through a thread, commenting here and there, because a great exchange is going on - and then all of a sudden for the next 10 posts people are being abusive to each other...

    Attitude is everything

I'm just bumping this one because there are some great quotes on here! :)

What is Meant By "It Didn't Used to Be This Way..."

I was wondering the same thing.

When did opinions start to equal...

That's one of them. And it's too bad, because it started out fine, just a bunch of people with their opinions - then BAM! I too am really here for the fitness info, because there is some great info on here, but I enjoy reading other things as well and seeing different view points, and I would...

When did opinions start to equal...

I agree, I have definitely read posts where all of sudden someone becomes incensed and the original poster has to explain what they meant. And on sensitive topics, it's even worse - which makes it more important to be respectful. Emoticons help to a point - but we do lose a lot when we don't...

When did opinions start to equal...

It's not the honest opinions as feedback that bother me - it's the comments masquerading as opinions that essentially are insulting or rude. In a debate, if someone behaved the way some do in this forum, they or their whole team would be disqualified. Though I agree, I should probably stop...

When did opinions start to equal...

The "flame wars" are sprinkled throughout this forum, I have fortunately, never been the target, and no one has ever been rude or disrespectful to me. What I am noticing is that people (not just in this forum) seem to feel "safe" saying things to people they more than likely would never say to...

When did opinions start to equal...

...a free pass to be insulting, disrespectful, rude, etc? I get so tired of seeing people use "in my opinion" after they told someone off, or to shut-up, or whatever. An opinion is someone's personal point-of-view, that's it, I may not agree with some of the stuff that is said on this board...

    Attitude is everything

Great thread! Here are some quotes I love: "You've got to think about the "big things" while you are doing the small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction." Alvin Toffler "May you live every day of your live." Jonathan Swift "It is never too late to be what you...

    Attitude is everything

Great quote! A friend of mine and I were just talking about this very thing yesterday - how if you wait for the everything to be "in place" to be happy - you'll miss out on your whole life!

I know, I think they have gotten completely out of hand.

    We're the Problem!?!?!

Maybe instead of focusing on all the negatives of socialized medicine and comparing apples to oranges - why not compare apples to apples. Socialized medicine, health care for all, whatever you want to call it, does not have to emulate Canada's system, or Britains, or France's. Why not compare...

    We're the Problem!?!?!

Maybe we should send the following article to Rush - though he probably wouldn't read it. http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-library/25-most-significant-health-benefits-physical-activity-exercise It has been said a few times in this thread that one does not need exercise to lose weight, that...
