I think credit card cos. are going insane!

I should be out of my financial mess in about a month. Once that's done it's debit-or-forget-it. I'll NEVER be a slave to the whims of a bank again. To say I'm filled with bitterness and resentment towards our banking fat cats doesn't even begin to express what I feel. People say you have to...

    More makeup or less?

My hair used to be down to my butt, too. But (BUT... ha ha. Sorry.), more than lightening up my makeup, cutting off my hair REALLY took the years off. May not be true for others but it was the best thing I ever did.

    More makeup or less?

Yep. I'm 48 and I started lightening up years ago. When I was young I only used black around my eyes. At about 38 I concluded my makeup made me look like a heavy metal groupie so I switched to brown/black mascara and plum eyeliner. About 5 months ago I began wearing plain old brown eyeliner...

    Figure Competing

It's REALLY pervasive, though. I found out over at the FigureAthlete.com message boards when I posted my anti-steroid attitude and got an earful (or would that be "eyeful?")

#1 Song on the Day you were born!

I always dug "Living for the City."

#1 Song on the Day you were born!

"Blue Moon" by The Marcels. I was surprised it was actually a song I knew!

    Figure Competing

I'm still considering it but I'm really turned off by the whole steroid thing. Mainly, I'm focusing on continuing with my weight loss/body comp change. I want to be healthy and worry about anything getting in the way of that. But if you're pretty darn close I say GO for it!

Yea, the whole thing is just a big moneymaking scam. But I'm also old.

The men at T-Nation are even worse, though. No sympathy whatsoever.

    STS Strength question

I just keep in mind something Chad Waterbury said (in relation to ab training, actually) in one of his articles: If you work a muscle it gets bigger; if you don't, it doesn't. So if you don't want a muscle to get bigger don't work it. I think of this every time I consider whether to do a move...

    Feeling Guilty

I think what's needed here is a thread about great at-home jobs for sahm's... and the rest of us! I don't have kids and think if I did I'd love to be a sahm. But my mom was a sahm up until I was in about the fourth or fifth grade and I swear she about went nuts - and nearly took us all...

need bronzer ?? before sons wedding

Have you considered airbrush tanning? Ever since I lost weight and began wearing more revealing clothes I've gotten remarks on both my smaller shape and my vampire-white legs... As I understand it, airbrush tans last between 5-12 days, though I suspect they're pretty much gone by day 7 or 8...

    The "man-face"

Those pictures were taken right after Hendershot left The Arnold stage. Jan Tana is a HEAVY sponsor of most figure/fitness/body building competitions so their nasty dark-as-a-burnt-turkey look (with a reddish cast, no less) ain't going anywhere. I wrote a big fat rant over at FigureAthlete...

    The "man-face"

I can't believe I'm bringing up FigureAthlete.com again over here but an author over there, Wet Wolf, wrote an article about women and steroids that addressed That Look. He said something about how the constant off/on competition dieting and the substances the women competitors use make many of...

    Opinions on Spinning?

A while back I read an article over at FigureAthlete.com where the writer went off about the uselessness of spinning. Yet, a few weeks ago a different FA writer had good things to say about it. If you go over there and do a search on "spinning" you'll probably read the pros and cons from every...

    Pace weights vs. wrist weights?

I got mine at Target also, but they're all over the place. The kind I got actually have a thumb loop which helps to keep them from shifting around. I never used those things until doing STS upper body. After getting pinched by the magnets for about the twentieth time the light bulb (finally)...

    Pace weights vs. wrist weights?

I got Pace weights but rely almost entirely on wrist weights now when I'm in-between on dumbbells. Since I started STS (I'm on M3 now) I've had ridiculously fast strength gains and have found the wrist weights (which I'd forgotten I had) much easier and faster to work with. I can't tell you...
