    Eating Disorder

The subject matter is important, but IMO Dr. Phil is NOT qualified as an ED therapist. He has said things to guests on his show with ED's that are at best inaccurate and at worst, dangerous. He's a hack.

    Walking for Cardio?

Lori, use inclines with care, especially when recovering from an injury. It is tempting to up the incline to increase the intensity of the workout, but you can end up with an achilles strain/tendonitis if you are not careful. Unfortunately, I know from personal experience. Walking is fabulous...

    Help with paper writing!!!

Don't worry, you will gain confidence as you write more papers. We tend to be our own worst critics and agonize over trivial things that don't matter. I am 49 and will be graduating with my bachelor's degree in June. I like writing papers so much that I decided to go to graduate school (lol)...

    Housewives of OC

I have been addicted to this show since the first season. So funny how all of our opinions about the "characters" are so different. Personally, I do not find Gretchen to be gorgeous, at all. I think she has a cheap, trailer-park trash quality. She also seems to have the IQ of a shoelace...

    Am I unreasonable?

This one drives me nuts. I have heard Barbara Walters utter "supposeBly" on The View and she is a "journalist?"

    Flu Shot

I too caught the flu in the first trimester of my first pregnancy, back in 1991 (I didn't know I was pregnant at the time). I was living overseas and was traveling home to the U.S. for Christmas when I contracted it, somewhere between Hong Kong and San Francisco. I have never been so sick in...

    Vitamin D

I live in a tropical climate, with sun practically 365 days a year. Regardless, I take 1,000 IU of vitamin D everyday. A side benefit for me is that it improves my mood. Sarah

    cardio coach question

I may be in the minority, but I cannot stand CC #2; the music drives me nuts...sort of like the Lion King on steroids. I think Coach Sean is fabulous and enjoy CC's 3-8, but #2...yuck! Sarah

runners, can you tell me what

Hi Clare, sorry for the tardy response. My experience with ITBS was 3 years ago. At the time, I was running approx. 40 miles per week. I have been a runner since high school and only started to get injuries, related to running, since turning 40; another "bonus" of ageing ;-) I'm now 48. At...

runners, can you tell me what

I agree with what Clare said. In addition, I have had ITBS (unfortunately) and the pain most definately involved my hip and went down to my knee. Sarah

Bare Minerals, Buxom lip glosses. I have Amber and Trixie. They are minty and make your lips tingle. Love them! Sarah

    I have mono!

My son (14) was diagnosed with Mono last month. He recovered in about 3 weeks. However, my sister had Mono when she was 18. She pushed herself and continued to exercise. Her Mono got MUCH worse and it took a full year for her to recover. My advice would be to kank the spinning classes and...

    Hormone rant - long

Nancy, my doctor started giving me the "could be perimenopause" lecture when I was 36. I am now 48. If I follow the same pattern as my mother and older sisters, I am not going to hit menopause until I am WELL into my 50's. So, is Perimenopause really 20 years long? I think not. I feel your...

    Jari Love--yikes

I am in total agreement with Allison. I have a couple of Jari's workouts and I don't do them because I find her appearance so distracting and quite frankly, disturbing. Sarah
