    Starting STS postpartum

Thanks. This is really great advice. I had not thought to retest my 1RM. I was just going to wing it, but maybe I will retest. I did have a natural delivery, with no epidural/drugs, and no tear or episiotomy. I have had a lot of issues with breast infections/mastitis and I am waiting...

    Starting STS postpartum

Hi Cathe (other opinions appreciated too), I am almost 5 weeks post-partum and want to start STS soon. My question is: should I jump right in or rebuild some strength first? I worked out my entire pregnancy, but made modifications as the pregnancy progressed. Towards the end, I did not...

how long did you wait before working out?

Wow, 4 days! I'm ready, but not quite sure how to juggle WO and the little one. I did 4DS KB the other day and she was awake before I could tack on abs. Plus I feel so tired, I'm afraid to expend too much energy! I'm also recovering from mastitis and am still in a lot of pain. And I am no...

how long did you wait before working out?

Hi ladies! I just gave birth 10 days ago, but I am already starting to get the urge to workout. I know it's still a little soon, but I was wandering how long you waited before resuming Cathe workouts and other activities. I had a wonderful, natural delivery, with no episiotomy and no tear! I...

Did anyone else have sciatic back pain?

Hey ladies, I was just wondering if anyone else had sciatic back pain? I am almost 33 weeks and this intense sharp pain has just started in my left back and hip. I am sooo discouraged because it really hurts at this point to workout. Even walking is painful. I have too far left to go to...

    Hey Melanie......

Thanks Kate for that wonderful birth story. I am hoping to have an all natural delivery in about 8 weeks (give or take) and have been trying to prepare my mind. I read Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It also takes the fear and pain out...

baby's lack of movement is freaking me out

Thanks ladies. Hearing this does make me feel better. I was just at the OB on Wednesday and everything was fine. So my practical side says "Stop worrying". However, at this point I seem to be worrying about anything and everything! It probably won't stop until she's born. I did feel her...

baby's lack of movement is freaking me out

Did/does anyone else notice your baby is sometimes really quiet? I am 30 weeks and this week alone there have been two times she has been really quiet: Sunday and last night into today. I haven't felt her move much at all. It is really freaking me out. She has done this in the past, so I...

    DECEMBER 2009 mommas?

I hadn't head anything about not squatting during pregnancy and have been doing it the whole time (I'm 22 weeks and due Sept 15th). It doesn't seem to have hurt anything and my OB gave me the go ahead on pretty much whatever I wanted to do as long as I didn't lie on my back after 20 weeks.

    Depression Help

I'm 22 weeks and was in tears over this same thing last night. I have a good job (I'm a nurse) and a lot of people supported me to get me where I am today. But, if I could stay home full time, I would. It actually makes me hate my job. I know that I won't be able to stay home, so I'm just...

    Best Cathe Workouts in Pregnancy

I'm almost 22 weeks and have found the following DVD's to be the one's I reach for most often: LIC, Low Max, Kick Max (no blast and LOVE this one preggo), 4DS LIS and Kickbox. I am still lifting, but am going lighter. I have stopped doing any abs for the rectus abdominus but am still...

    Dilema: my pants don't fit:'(

I hate to say it, but ever since I started working out with Cathe, I have mostly GAINED weight. At first I thought, "These workouts are sooo tough, I'm going to lose A LOT of weight." WRONG! But, here's the thing. I was adding muscle. It's a good thing, but it's still hard to outgrow...

    Choroid plexus cysts

Thanks Ladies. Stephanie, I have not yet had the quad screening. I opted out because I am young and no genetic disorders run in our family. I will most definitely have another ultrasound, but I am not sure about the quad screen. It can sometimes come up falsely positive and I DO NOT want to...

    Choroid plexus cysts

I got a call from my OB today and she said the 18 week US I had done showed the baby has choroid plexus cysts in her brain. She said that she sees this often and not to worry...but, that it can increase the risk of a neural tube defect or other anomaly. So, I'm worried. I've done some...
