    Avocado Ideas?

OMG, avocados are AMAZING. I love the salsa in the "bowl" idea. Seriously, avos are one of my all time favorite things. Thanks for the ideas - and I agree with others. Just eaten plain or with a little vinaigrette, and I am good to go!

    21 day yoga challenge

Thanks so much for posting this! Like you, my exercise regime has been a downward spiral over the past year. I was an avid runner until I herniated a lumbar disc last April. It was horrid, but I did recover without surgery (thank God!) My ortho is a big advocate for Yoga and feels...

    Procedures for heavy periods

Thanks for all the insight. I wish I could do some form of birth control but it seems a tad silly since DH just had a vas but mostly I'm reluctanct d/t a family history of breast cancner AND the fact that I become virtually homicidal on hormones:eek: and have so much breakthrough bleeding...

    Procedures for heavy periods

Hey there ladies, TMI alert :o Have any of you ever had any procedures for heavy/long periods? I am 43 and am done having children. Husband had a vasectomy in November. I'm sick of my heavy periods, sore breasts prior- they are still regular, just getting really inconvenient at times too...

    Teenager question

Thanks so much, everyone. Really good advice, and that's kind of the path DH and I have taken. You see, we both smoked pot - me more than him and a LOT in high school. I drank and smoked pot but never anything more. I had zero guidance as a teen - my mother was more "my friend" and allowed...

    Teenager question

Hypothetical question: If you found out your 15 year old son was smoking pot, how would you proceed with punishment/discussion? Let's just say you found, oh, a small pipe in his bedroom....

    American Idol

Hmmmm....I dunno. I'm boycotting it this season. Can't explain exactly why - perhaps the judge changes and also it just occupies SO much of my time once it's on for 3 nights/week. We'll see how long it lasts - now that I've heard some good things, I may venture back (you enablers!!) I've...

    Where is Carola?

    My final review of Botox/Juvederm

Rapid Breath - lol, yeah seriously! Ivy - the frown lines in between the brow area and on the forehead are treated with botox, which was actually cheaper than the juvederm but doesn't last as long. Botox will last about 3-4 months and Juvederm will last from 6-12 months. Hope that helps!

    My final review of Botox/Juvederm

Ok, so it's been a few weeks and the dust has settled, so to speak, so I thought I'd give some final thoughts on my recent "work";) IPL therapy of cherry angiomas -wonderful, all the spots are gone. I kind of wished I'd marked all of them as some do remain, but the most noticeable and...

    Gluten free diet?

Hello everyone, Anyone here on a gluten free diet? I am intrigued and tempted to give it a go. I have been plagued with GI issues - constant bloating, either constipation or diarrhea most of the time and have even been to the ER twice within the last 6 months for acute abdominal pain (we're...

    Black Friday

Absolutely, wholeheartedly agree with you Kristin!!!! It kills the spirit for me too. My Christmas spirit comes in various ways - hanging ornaments on the tree with the family while drinking eggnog, sipping coffee next to my tree first thing in the am when noone else is up, visiting/quality...

    Black Friday

I second MidgetDogg - no way in hell. No deal is worth that in my eyes. One of the main reasons I dread the holidays is because of the frantic crowds - yuck!

I'm doin' the happy vasectomy dance!

DH is getting the big "snip snip" tomorrow! Yay! After 6 weeks (hopefully), we can get rid of condoms forever - yuck!! I will have to say he's being a *bit* testy (pun fully intended) about the thought of the procedure. I really gently pushed, nudged, coerced him as he was reluctant, but...

    Juvederm/Botox report :)

Call me Heidi Montag, lol, just kidding;) Had my procedures done on Tues and here's my report about 48 hours out: 1. Cherry angiomas - had about 30 removed by IPL (quick laser type treatment) Had to wear the goggles and they put the gel on each spot and then "zap" them. Feels kind of...

    Terrible family news....

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, my dad lives 10 hours away but is near fine doctors in the DC area. He and my step mother are very intelligent and detail oriented. I have no fear that they will go in unaware or remain uninformed. He is not only his best self advocate, but my step mother will...

    buy cat food online

Make sure you sign up for the online "wellness club". My dogs are on wellness and I get coupons online regularly. Also, if you have a PetSupplies Plus in your area, they now have a "shoppers club" card you can sign up for which also can save you quite a bit. Cover the food with a lid in...

    Terrible family news....

Just got a call from my father - he's 73 and just found out he has lung cancer. Will know more when it gets staged next week. I know the outlook is not good, but I'm trying to digest this and remain positive. All I know is I feel like throwing up. Just needed to vent, I think I'm cried out...
