Beginning XTrain 90 Day Rotation March 16!

Congrats Penny! You are fearless and have stuck to the STS schedule so well! I am two weeks behind you, but would love to do the 90 day XTrain rotation beginning on March 30th once I am finished Meso 3. XTrain is awesome and I am game for the fun and for the results! I will be travelling some...

    Are my workouts becoming counterproductive?

Great questions RubySue. And some great suggestions above! I was given some great ideas by a personal trainer who I worked with in order to build muscle. These suggestions helped me reach my goals and may be food for thought: 1. Check if you are getting 7-9 quality hours of sleep per night...

Penny, good for you for being so near the end and building your strength! Great idea to repeat week 3. I may do that as well. How is the squat rack work going? I found in the past I couldn't safely get more than 45 lbs over my head to place on my shoulders, so I used a weighted vest to...

Just finished Disk 27 - week 1 of meso 3 for shoulders, bis and tris. It is a longer program and you end up doing 12 sets for each of these three muscle groups. Whoa. So each body part gets a thorough workout for sure! Felt good about the weight loads I chose but not sure how I will ever go...

Did Plyo Legs Disk 26 today. Haven't done much cardio at all lately, so I knew I was in trouble after the first cardio segment - box jumps. I only had 2 risers under the step while Cathe and crew had 4! And after huffing and puffing through more box jumps than I could count, Cathe says "We...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Sadly, my 66 year old brother-in-law and neighbor for 27 years, died suddenly last week. He was relatively healthy but got cancer that aggressively zoomed through his body. He had been misdiagnosed until 3 days before his death, so we are just catching our...

So good to hear about everyone's hard work, successes, and ways to make it work. Good going Gals! I have had to work hard to fit in STS - working around a pulled pec muscle and teaching 3 weight based classes/week - don't want to over do it. Found out in the past week a family member is...

Great work, Penny!! And I agree... I have found that doing the regular assortment of Cathe workouts does the trick for maintaining strength. Cathe works her magic. Comparing my weight loads for various STS exercises this round compared to when I last did it I have only lost strength on those...

Those one legged pikes on the ball have got to be one of the toughest ab moves out there. Yowers! I tend to avoid that program for that reason :p but I guess that means that's the program I need to do the most! ;):D

Great work Nicki. A lot of people would only do the class, so good for you to add on to it and do what makes you feel good. I see on the Workout Manager you have put in lots of miles! Awesome.:) Good luck on Saturday, Penny!! You have worked hard for it. I'm sure you'll do a super job with all...

Hey, thanks so much Penny. I was an elementary resource teacher most of my career. I was also a Reading Recovery teacher and a consultant (helping schools plan for their special needs kids, with a focus on autism support) and loved all these positions. My main focus though is on Learning...

I am away for a few days so can't get to week 4 of Meso 2 until Tuesday. But making use of the hotel fitness room. Yesterday was cardio and core day so did 10 min on the treadmill, a 4 min. tabata, used the skipping rope for a couple of mins. and then did some core training. Then repeated that...

Thanks, Nicki. But rest assured, I am not super human! I am retired from my career as an educator and am now self-employed part-time, so I sleep in when I feel like it! Just finished reading Matthew Walker's excellent book, "Why We Sleep" and really prioritize those life changing 7 hours of slumber!

Best workout type for fat loss?

I agree with Stacy...eating clean is number one. Getting 7+ hrs sleep and drinking lots of water is foundational too. In terms of workouts, metabolic workouts once to twice a week are great. Spin burns the most calories according to the Workout Manager so fitting that in once per week for the...

Finally fit in Disk 21 (back and bis) last night - at 11:30pm! I am just not a morning gal, no matter how much I wish I was. ;) Feeling the back today! That double wave loading technique really works muscles to fatigue - 6 sets of one exercise! And with one-arm rows where you are doing each arm...

Ditto! Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for the encouragement gals. Sometimes really tough for me to find the time to fit in these workouts, yet without consistency STS is just not very effective. I have needed the positive 'push' from you all to get 'er done! Thanks.
