    miscarriage and high impact aerobics

I have read some information on miscarriages that I can not make sense of. Are high impact aerobic moves likely to cause a miscarriage? Some things I've read seem to indicate that it will, but some things seem to indicate that the associate between high impact and miscarriage is that you may...

    Vegetables

Oh yea--calcium fortified V8 is on my list and I have already eaten raw spincah on a sandwich! (For the record, I really didn't bother to list protein and carbs since I will absolutely eat the protein and I think the carbs will take care of themselves. If I added them, then it wouldn't have all...

    Vegetables

Here is how I am taking control of meeting my nutritional needs. Maybe many of you have already been eating well, but my diet has been lacking in vegetables and calcium. Thanks goodness my protein powder was supplemented heavily! From "What to Expect When you are Expecting", I found a list of 7...

    caffeine

Thanks Susan. I have been doing 1 cup of 50% less caffeine Eight O'clock coffee in the morning. I workout 30 minutes later. I just can't get going without it. I have been putting a level teaspoon of sugar instead of articial sweetners. (and some skim milk.)

    freaked out by cautious doctor

Thanks Erica! I obviously keep looking for these experiences of continuing to work out a decent intensity while respecting the fact that you are pregnant. The more I learn and read about this whole pregnancy process, the more empowered I feel. Gina

Why is it so hard to get pregnant?

Have you tracked your cycle in terms of days to suggest when you may be fertile? Are you monitoring your vaginal mucus to further suggest when you are fertile? At fertile times, are you doing it only every other day in the morning with the man on top and waiting awhile after he finishes before...

Oh, and your story is very encouraging for believing that I will get back to my current condition in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks. GIna

    freaked out by cautious doctor

I am sorry to seem so dense, but let me get this straight. Stebby--if you kept your exercise intensity up high, does that mean at times you were in fact breathing quite heavily? And that you did this in the first trimester also? But if the high intensity and heavy breathing were too much on a...

    Protein powder

Thanks everyone. I certainly will ask my doctor about my brand an any other possible brands I may use. Maybe she will prefer a soy based brand like the midwife. Gina

    Any 1st trimester moms-to-be here?

Michelle, I hope you continue to feel ok. Kaz, you didn't show until 6 months???? Am I horribly vain or what? I am really worried about gaining weight before I tell people or look pregnant. I know it is dumb. But I just don't. Gina

1st tri cardio gasping for breath

Erica, mine isn't so much an energy loss problem, but one of breathing hard and a rapid heart beat. It is actually frustrating for me to have to slow down and take a break. Hmm... which is worse- actually feeling worn out or wanting to work harder but knowing you shouldn't. I guess the former...

    Vegetables

Vegetable juices! That is another really good idea. I am in the habit of not drinking calories (excpet protein powder with water) so it never occurred to me. Since getting pregnant, I have replaced by protein drink with skim milk. \ Thanks, Gina

Thank you Jennifer. I think it may be helpful for me to think about the exertion scale. I guess I should quit using my monitor too. Gina

    Vegetables

How in the world do you all manage to get in your vegetables? Do you eat fresh, frozen, canned? Cooked, raw? Any special preparation tips? Any you especially like? I am way behind on vegetables! Do those in canned soup count in your book? Gina

    freaked out by cautious doctor

Hi Erica, I am also 2 fetal weeks! We are on the same schedule! I also worry that I may harm (or have) the baby. But I sort of like to think that it may be more difficult to do so than we believe with all of this advise. Think of all the women under conditions (e.g. past times, poor countires)...
