Something's wrong when....

Cathlete
I cannot believe that I now consider Cathe's HiiT 30/30 a lighter workout. What is wrong with me?????? I remember when it first came out and I thought OMG, if I cannot get through this, how am I going to do the other 2 HiiT workouts. Now I sometimes add 1lb hand weights to up the intensity. I cannot believe how much my cardiovascular endurance has improved over the years thanks to Cathe and I'll be 40 in August. I hope it only up hill for now on!!!!

Good for you Firemedic!!!! It's an accomplishment so pat yourself on the back. Incredible feeling right?! Feeling strong, working hard and kicking ass. I just recently got the Hiit DVD. It intimidated me forever! Finally got it during the Collage sale......absolutely love it!

I remember when I completed IMAX 3 without stopping or modifying! Same with Afterburn. Now the big challenge for me is X10. I love that feeling of "holy crap, I just did something really hard!!"

Love, love love that Cathe!!!!!!

OMG, I know -- I remember when Maximum Intensity Cardio required breaks between each section! BUT -- I, too, have the X10 challenge yet to conquer.

I really miss this workout, I developed osteoarthritis last year and cannot do high impact any more. It kills me to see all these dvd's sitting in my bookshelf and know I won't be able to do them anymore. I do X10 but modify the jumping, thank goodness for low impact!!!

How often and how many weeks do you do one of the ones you find is hard before it becomes easier? I am wanting to pick two hard ones for me and do them to see if I have any progress. See my problem is I do a hard one I won't do it for along time again and when I get back to it I'm not really sure if I improved cause it was so long apart I did it. But I also don't want to keep doing one that's hard to many times a week and have it to be a dread thing. Like afterburn man I love hate that workout but I had it since it came out and I have done it for only four or five times lol cause it is hard but I love it but I want to MASTER it but not sure if I should do it once a week or twice a week or once every two weeks! Lol how many times did u all do them to see you are doing better ?

For me, it's not doing 1 or 2 specific workouts so many times it becomes easier. It's continuing to seek out higher intensity workouts. For instance, I have been revisiting a lot of workouts that I remember were so hard for me years ago and they are not challenging at all anymore. Yet I used to struggle to get through them. And it wasn't doing those particular workouts so many times they became easy, it was continuing to seek out more challenging workouts. Doing Insanity, discovering Cathe, seeking out HIIT workouts from other trainers (Amy Dixon, among others)--just always challenging myself. Same with MWT workouts like Afterburn--I loved that so much I am always on the lookout for workouts like it. KCM has some, Toby Massenburg, Patrick Goudeau, Paul Katami. I do them all. Then I return to ones that killed me a year or two ago--and they are much more doable.

At least that's how it works for me. And I try to include HIIT and MWT workouts every week. But for me, most do not have a dread factor for me--I really like doing them.
