How do you delete a user from your sign-in screen? Help please!

BAM

OK. I'm soooooo not a technical person. My ex-boyfriend's name always appears as a user when I sign in. Even though we parted on good terms (at least I think so ;)), I don't need to keep seeing his name when I log into my computer and I can't figure out how to delete it. It's been sitting on the screen waaaaaaay too long! If you can give me detailed instructions on how to do this, I would most greatly appreciate it.

It's time to make room for my future bf! :D

Thank you!

I'm not sure if you are having the problem I think you are describing, but I hope this helps...

Pull up the Cathe forums and up on the right side it says:

Welcome ExBoyFriend
You last visited: 01-30-2013 at 04:30 p.m.
Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 89

Look at the blue highlighted line below it that has User CP, Blogs, FAQ, etc., and follow that to *Log Out*

Hit Log Out

That will direct you to another screen which shows User Name, a little box for Remember Me, Password, and log in, all showing blank fields.

So you are going to type in Bam, put a check mark in the Remember Me box, type in your password and then hit log in.

You should now be remembered as the log in user. I hope this is what you were referring too.

DirtDiva, thank you so much for that explanation but I guess I wasn't clear enough in what I was asking for. What I'd like to delete is a user when I turn my computer on in the morning. There's a sign on screen and you click on the icon as to who is going to be using the computer and then you type in your user password. i.e. I have 3 icons as users - one for me, one for my ex-bf and one for a guest so that no one else has access to your home page. I want to delete him as a user.

I hope I was able to clarify what I need. Again, I truly appreciate you helping out and hopefully someone can guide me as to how I can delete his user name. I know it's not hard.......like anything else........once you know how to do it, it's easy! :p

Oh right! What operating systems are you running, you probably have a PC running Microsoft right? So it would help to know the version of your OS (operating system) which is probably Windows XP, or Vista or the newer Windows 7? To me, your description fits my older version of Windows XP.

Let me know and I can help you change that. Its under Control Panel, then go to User Accounts then select your changes by deleting that one account.

Its fairly easy, I can walk you through it.

Woo Hoo, Oh Yeah, I'm bad, I'm bad!!!!!! :D

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, DirtDiva!!!! I knew it was easy but when you don't know, you don't know! :)

He's gone, uh, I mean, it's gone! I'm so excited! Yep, it's the simple things in life that can make us the most happy! It's just nice not to have to see that every day. I feel so empowered! ;)

Thank you SO much for helping me. YOU ROCK!!!!

You are so welcome! I complete agree, its frustrating at times when you just want to change a little thing like that. :p

BAM:

good luck finding that new BF!!!!

Clare

Thanks Clare! My last bf really was a good guy. There were just some fundamental differences that would not a healthy marriage make. I've waited a VERY long time for the "right" one to come into my life so I guess I can wait a little longer...............o.k., is it a little longer already? :p:D
