Low Carbers & Friends - September 2011

Shadow

Cathlete
Hi, gang :). Good thing I was reminded on another forum that a new monthly thread was needed :p.... Where did August go ?

I think August flew away and disappeared with June and July. I don't even remember them being present this year! LOL I have a funny feeling that September is going to be the same way. Just busy and suddenly it will be ....ooh, do I dare say it? Christmas!

I think that August flew away with June and July. I don't even remember them being present. I have a funny feeling that September will go just as fast. Before you know it....ooh...do I dare say it? Christmas.

Okay, I don't know what is going on, the first post disappeared and then I rewrote, and then it appeared. Sort of like the summer!

ROTFL, Rhea :D! Too bad time just disappears to never be seen again, huh ;)? Well, it does come around - but the price to pay is another year going by .

Have a great weekend, all !

Rhea, do not say Christmas. That equals cold months for me, that's mostly why I'm opposed to it coming. And I also read both your posts that repeated themselves. I almost finished the second post before I realized it was a copy. I'm losing it! i can't believe it's Sept 6 already, what happened to the 5 other days? I think I was still believing it was Aug before I realized.

So, did anyone read the article that Cathe posted on FB about waist and hips getting wider as we age due to our pelvic bones spreading out. Well, finally I have an answer! My weight is the same and body fat about the same as well, but my waist seems thicker. With the current style of lower waists on pants, it's easy to find stuff that fits, but seriously, I'd be in major pain trying to wear older pants from 10 year ago.

Lita, thanks for starting the thread this month, you have been right on each month this year. How's your room mate?

I've been doing some different older Cathe workouts to mix things up. Also cracked open the STS total body and did that a couple times. I realized I have not done the HIGH REPS dvd yet, it still had the seal on it. I wonder when we will get the new series sent to us?

Work will be super busy for me through the end of Oct. Busy season will start in 2 weeks, so it's a 7 week whirl wind.

Melinda - The thickening waist is the worst part !!! I can only suck in so hard, ya know :p! I have clothes (really nice ones, too :( ) that I could wear when I weighed 10# or so more than now - but now they're too tight even though I'm lighter . As for my RM, she is doing well, thank you :)!

Hi babes! Thank you for starting the Sept. thread Lita! You rock my friend!

I dunno what happened to August either! I know I did some stuff 'cause it says so on the calendar....

As for cooler weather, I cannot relate to that--we finally got a heatwave here! Well, a heatwave for us! We're gonna get to 90 this week! So no running in the heat with BB. Tried to take him for a little walk this evening and he took off running. Wasn't expecting that! So we both got hot. And this a.m., I took my break outside with 2 co-workers with hand weights. Only 60 degrees out but it became a sweatfest for me!

Melinda, how was Yosemite? I hope you enjoyed it! Are you starting school again this month? I really like the High Reps dvd in case you were wondering. :)

I can relate to the changing of the shape ladies! :( My tummy looks bigger. Grrr...Lower waisted pants are good for me too but I have to get weighed on Thurs. and I am almost panicked that I've gained alot. If I haven't, I will be most happy.

Have an awesome week babes!

Hello where's everyone been? I know I"ve been crazy busy and haven't even worked out for .....well....gosh, almost three weeks. That really bites. I'm going to workout this evening, no matter what. Got to get back into it. Just can't get up at 4:30 in the am right now. Bed too comfortable.

Tracy, Yosemite was beautiful. we will definitely go again. I posted pics on FB.

Rhea, I just can't do the early a.m. workouts any more.

I'm going into work's busy season, should be mostly over by end of Oct. The company is growing, so that's good, I have a steady job. DH went for interview last Fri, they asked him to fill out an application, so I guess that's good. We'll see. His bday is Friday, I said it would be nice to get a job offer then.

Weather is beautiful here now. We're going for a walk in the park this evening.

Rhea - Maybe I need to come sleep in your bed :p! Or I could send you mine - it's easy to get up when you're in agony from being on that mattress all night ;)!

Melinda - I am so very glad you enjoyed Yosemite :D! AND that your work is picking up  - that's so exciting in today's economy!

Hi babes! I need your bed too Rhea! I am trying to talk DH into saving for a sleep number bed. I love those! What kind of bed do you have?

I think Lita is the only one here who can do the early morning workouts, you go girl!

I'm glad you loved Yosemite Melinda! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a job for DH! I'm glad you are busy at work--are you taking any classes this Fall?

I am still getting some short workouts in at work and taking BB for a run after work a few nights a week. I bought a new Kettlebell workout by Paul Katami 'cause the preview looked good on Collage Video but after previewing it, I'm scared it's gonna kill me cardio-wise! :p (It uses Cathe's high step.) I plan to try it tomorrow. I'll let you know if I survive it!

Have a great rest or your week!

Hey Tracy - I have a sleep numbers bed!! Well worth the investment. I wanted a tempurpedic, but DH thought it was too mushy for him, he likes it like a rock. Actually, I have noticed that he hasn't messed with his air numbers and it does go down a bit over time from 100%, he sleeps better at about 85, but doesn't think about the air in the bed being the change. Men.

I finally worked out for the first time yesterday morning. (yes, I actually got up early in the morning) Now I'm battling the small headache I get when I work out after a long lay off. This afternoon I'm going to do a cardio of some sort and then tomorrow i'll pop in Burn Circuit #2 for a morning wake up.

Maybe this weekend I'll do some oldies.

Hi babes! I am NOT a brave woman Lita, I am a crazy woman! I had to lower the step height and the kettlebell to get through it--wow! What was I thinking?!? :p

Oh Rhea, you have the bed of my dreams! Lucky you!! Both DH and I like it soft. (We've enjoyed the one my parents have in their guest room.) When I sleep on my back here at home, I often wake up with a headache, but not in a sleep number bed! Good for you getting out of it to workout in the a.m.!

Well, no workouts for me for the next 3 weeks. Got my broken boob fixed yesterday! It's nice to see the twins even again. :p

Have a great week fit babes!

Yeah, the twins are back!!!

I've only made it once out of bed to workout, last week. Just too darn pooped. 12 hour days are getting to me. Yesterday was even nastier since I had no food in me most of the time.

Well, cross your fingers, I may be the new boss as of next week (for good, not temporary like I am now) Not sure how the board is going to do things, but if I am reading between the lines correctly, I'll be appointed and maybe not even have to go through the interview process. That would be nice so I can start recruitment for another attorney.

Oh Rhea - that would be awesome :D :D :D!!!!!!!! You definitely get my vote  (for what it counts, anyway :p )! However, girl, you'd do your body and your job both a favor by eating so you're more with it and running less on fumes ;). You may be able to do your job okay when your energy and system is depleted - but we know for a fact it doesn't do the body good :).

Well, phooey, now I have to wait until Oct. 11th meeting since the "proposal" that needs to be presented to them at an agenda meeting for someone else to try and take it over with a contract got postponed until next week. Oh well.

Darn it ! But I promise I'll keep my fingers, eyes and toes crossed the whole time, with daily prayers for good measure :D!
