I have cardio on tap today, not sure what yet? It's raining outside, which means no running for me today:rolleyes:

So I'm looking outside today and we have at least 2" of snow on the ground. Wow, I cannot even form the words to explain how sick of winter I am. Where is spring? Why are our seasons so messed up?

Anyways, I got up intending to do cardio but just did not feel like moving my body in that manner. I am very sore from yesterday's workout and thought a stretch workout would be better.

I did Karen Voights Yoga Stretch and it did feel very good. Only a 25 minute stretch, I sure could have used more.

I always feel so guilty when I just do stretching or yoga. I wish I would just get out of that mentality. I know it's good for me and you don't necessarily have to have a calorie burn each and every day.
 
well last night I ended up hitting the gym for legs. I had hoped for a run but the freaking weather forecast was WAY off. Thankfully we don't have snow at least - yikes.

I started with 10 minutes on the elliptical then got my thoughts collected for a solid leg workout. It's been a long time since I've done just strictly legs, or heavy legs really. For most exercises I went with 3 sets of 8 unless noted.

Squats - 80#
Stiff-legged deadlifts - 65#
Alternating plie squats - 30#
Alternating lunges - 50#
Single leg squats - 2x8 - 15#
Calf raises - 3x15 - 60#
Prone leg curls - 2x8 - 40#

I finished off this sweat-fest with another 15 minutes on the elliptical.

I'm a little disappointed in the weights. I think I can go heavier for squats, but am trying to get used to the barbell and really trying to focus on my form (which is hard to do watching self in window reflection b/c they don't have a way to have a mirror on exterior walls which are all windows).

I think today is going to be a rest day for me.

Not sure what I am going to do today I know it will be S&H of some kind. My allergies have gone into overdrive the last couple of days started taking Allegra and it helped the first part of the week but not today I am feeling really tired and drained its cloudy and rainy here I just want to curl up and go back to sleep but I have to go to work.

Debbie-we don't always need to push our bodies hard core a stretch is always appreciated.

Heather-nice job on your workout.

Belinda-enjoy whatever cardio you decide on.
 
Hi Girls!

I got my new Bob workout (Ultimate Cardio Body) yesterday and REALLY wanted to do it, but my legs are still WICKED DOMSing! Hurts like heck just to walk up the stairs, so I'm thinking holding squats low aren't going to happen. Sooooo... I did my S&H stuff: Bi's Tri's and Shoulders. Plus I added on TF Stretch 10 (great shoulder stretching!). Tough weight work. Lots of shaking going on!

Belinda: Hope you find a good cardio to do today! The weather is crappy here too. Supposed to get rain/snow/snow for the next 2 days. Ugh. I'm so tired of this weather, like Debbie. I need Springtime!!!

Debbie: Stretching is definitely the HARDEST workout for me to do too! And it's probably needed as much as cardio/weights, really. Glad you were strong enough to do it!

Heather: You really changed things up, huh? I bet your legs are talking to you today. You did a HUGE workout yesterday w/ the elliptical and those heavy weights!

Roxie: It's too cold here for allergies. I'd much rather have the allegies! LOL!. Hope you feel better. S&H is an AWESOME workout!!! works the muscles sooooo good!

Nora: OMG, you crazy girl! Showing me that link for the new TF remix workout! Ooooooh my. The only thing that holds me back is it's $23 for 20 minutes! Kills me! You did a HUGE workout yesterday! Holy moly! Good job!!!!

Heather - You had a really nice workout! I bet you will be feeling that one tomorrow. And don't sweat the weights, if you felt it, you worked it! :D

Roxie - Hope you feel better. Get that workout in! And thanks for telling me stretching is ok! My body does appreciate it.

Chris - Nice call on not doing the Bob workout until your doms goes away. Sounds like you had a nice workout doing S&H! I haven't done S&H in AGES.

Chris-I am hoping its allergies and not a cold I picked up somewhere I am just sneezing alot it really hasn't been that warm here either.

Exhale Core Fusion: Energy Flow Yoga- Sun Saluations & Chi Gong Hip Openers and stretches= 20 Min Approx
Met Value= 3.0
Calories burned= 82

Total calories burned= 905;)

Belinda- I hope you had a great workout today. I know you were unsure what you'd do today and mentioned a possible run. Whatever you decide on for today's workout I'm sure it was killer, as all your workouts are! ;):)

Debbie- Great call on listening to your body today and opting for a nice yoga or stretch workout. I'm sure your body is soo thankful for that. I know somedays I'm just not into workingout so I know how that goes. Get lots of rest and feel like your ready to kick butt and take names tomorrow.:D

Heather- Don't be disappointed, girl I looked at your workout and its KILLER! And those weights are too! You are amazing, and the muscle strength and memory is definitely there, maybe not to your liking but hey, I'd be happy to take what you did. Bravo girlfriend, that's a killer workout I'm in awe of! You go girl!;):D

Roxie- Sorry about the allergies acting up, I guess this means spring is near. I hope you feel better and the allergy meds help. You mentioned doing some S+H today, hope you had a great workout, inspite of those allergies. Hang in there kiddo!;):)

Chris- Good call to not tackle the new Bob workout today. With wicked DOM'S its a good idea to take it easy, stretch, yoga, or just rest that day to recover. I see you did do S+H Bi's, Tri's & Shoulders and TF Stretch 10. Those sound great to me. I had to laugh at your comment about TF Greatest HiiT's new dvd. I know its a little expensive but I love the music and energy of TF so I'll probably cave. Just knowing its there drives me crazy and want to get it, I'm so bad! I do have the new Bob workout you just got haven't tried it yet but have watched and it looks challenging, I love that. I'll have to work that into my workout rotation. I've looked at Insanity: Asylum, I decided nope on that one. Its one thing to be on FIYAH and Insane, but not feeling anywhere near Asylum worthy. Although I'm thinking of getting a New set of Insanity, The deluxe program which has the 10 regular Insane workouts plus four deluxe workouts and the New Fast and Furious Shaun T Insane workout. Its a short one, 20 minutes of intense insane Shaun T butt kickin' but that's just something I think I need. I'm a fitness dvd addict!:p Its all good healthy fun though, I mean I'd think my body would figure out by now, "Resistance is Futile" and given to the weightloss my body knows its earned with all the workouts I do. Sorry, on the quote, have a Borg star trek entrprise moment there. :p Take care and have a good night, hugs!
