Cheese!

So I found one of my favorite cheeses today at Sam's - aged Gouda. It has to be AGED. Now I'm trying to stop eating it. Just wondering what other cheeses people like/recommend. I love feta and goat cheese also - often on salads. And port wine cheese on crackers.

This is why I try to stay away from the cheese aisle!

one more piece. just one.

Hubby and I were just at Sams yesterday and they were giving out samples of the 3 cheeses and this was one of them. Absolutely delish!! :) I love cheese!! (I also loved the whole wheat crackers they were giving the samples on so much I bought some for our Christmas Eve dinner)

I love cheese, too.

I am currently on my second big Brie (from Sams) this holiday season. I make crusty rolls/Frenchbread just for that cheese - yummy.

I love feta, too. A greek restaurant has feisty feta (served with Pita) around here and I always get that with a small greek salad with extra feta. I could live of cheeses alone.

I LOVE this thread! I am officially the Queen of lovin' cheese!! The ONLY time I've ever OD'd on cheese was when my sister and I spent a week in France (yes- I know I've told this story before).

Soooo, Brie--- major yum! My King Soopers fav is the Habenero Jack! However, my supercalifragilstic fav is MY homemade Fondue!! I have had people from Europe praise it as very authentic as well as my friends!! I can ball-park estimate the ingredients, but I almost never follow a forumula!

I am pretty sure if there was such a thing as a cheese Somelier, I would ROCK that job!! Bring on the fromage, baby!

I am a cheese girl all the way! I have been known-in the past- to down an entire block of cheese in one sitting...with or without crackers!

I love cheddar, mozzerella, swiss, muenster, provolone, brie, feta and the list goes on and on. Somebody stop me! LOL

CHEESE ROCKS! :D

Well, I've made a serious dent in that aged gouda. I have to fight my 10 yr. old DD over the blue cheese stuffed olives, but this is all mine!

Anyone tried an odd or local cheese that they recommend?

i love Havarti cheese in my chicken or ham sandwiches or by its self. expensive and can only find at the deli counter. i use yellow mustard instead of butter for grilled cheese with havarti.

Aged gouda is sort of crumbly/crunchy right? One of the guys at my wine store recommended an aged cheese to me and I bought it - it was wonderful.

We have a place here in Western NY that makes cheese and they've got a lot of nice varieties. Yancy's Fancy is the name of the place, but I can't come up with one that I'd say is my favorite. One of the wineries on Seneca Lake pairs each of the wines on their tastings with a different variety of Yancy's cheese. I think my favorite was a wasabi cheddar. Mmmmmm. I love cheese. And wine. Together or separate, they're wonderful indulgences aren't they?
