50 and over week of May 23 check in

Cathlete
I know it's not Sunday yet but thought I would start early.

Friday was disc 15- yea finished meso 2 week 1 and today was 40 min on treadmill. Hopefully that means I am back on track.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Joan

Sounds like you are Joan!!

Yesterday I did cathe's 30/30 followed by 10 minutes pilates.

Jann- did you get a reformer? Where did you order it from? I took a training course last year in pilates so I would understand it better because it seemed too easy to me at first- but thats because I wasn't engaging the right muscles-- I love my reformer but it does not replace Cathe workouts in either the cardio or weights.. go to Pilates on fifth and they have a place for downloadable workouts that are good.

Beth yes, my husband bought an aeropilates machine. It has a rebounder attachment. He bought it from QVC. According to the hype you can get "better" cardio with this rebounder than a treadmill. So far I have not. What is happening my abs are really getting a good workout. But that makes it a very expensive ab machine. I have not tried all the exercises on it yet. I've only been using the rebounder 10 minutes a day.
I couldn't find the pilates on fifth. Is there a link?

Good Morning everyone!! Happy Sunday!

Jann, that is exciting! Here is the link http://www.ultimatepilatesworkouts.com/

Ultimate pilates is part of the Pilates on Fifth - for free you can look at some of the reformer workouts- they are good! But it sounds like yours also came with a video. Remember that whenever your doing anything on the reformer- you are supposed to engage your core by zipping your belly to your spine- thats where you see results!

I have been taking my workout outdoors and walking 5 miles everyday- then some pilates and some rebounding. I am going to pick back up on Cathes May rotation after this week, but I thought I would shake my routine up by following a couple weeks of "easy does it". Trying to bring my cortisol levels down!!

Magnolia, how is your DIL now? Are you going back down?

Linda, you've been on a roll there with your workouts!

Joan, good to hear your back at it!! How did your face turn out?

Cathy, my cousin's husband is a large animal vet. Are you working with large or small animals?

Well, time to walk!!:D

Thanks Beth!! I will check out the Free download tomorrow. :D
Our machine came with 3 sets of DVD's. BEG-ADV. I am doing the beginners one for Cardio. My DH has been doing the beginners one for pilates. He said he can feel it in his abs as well.

Today I jumped on the treadmill for 2 miles then 10 minutes of pilates.

Hi, Y'All.

I did Low Impact Step again today and a core workout. I did not behave well over the weekend, but both DH and I needed a little comfort food, so we had some ice cream.

We had a scare last week. Late Thursday afternoon, my son called DH to tell him that DIL had been admitted to the hospital, and some doctors had speculated that she might only have a week left. Actually, it turned out that she had become dehydrated due to a combination of pain medication she was taking. They were able to rehydrate her and restore kidney function, and she was eating by Friday. They sent her back home. It was awful. We were planning to go, but DH has his worst week of the month this week, and we plan to go down Memorial Day and stay until Friday. We are still hoping that she can be admitted to the Cancer Treatment Centers, because she has been moved up on the list, but we can only pray it will be in time.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning,

((((Magnolia))))

Beth It is supposed to take three months to see results in face. Second session is this Thursday. I hope it's not three months after last session. Even after the three months it's supposed to improve.

I signed up to the burn the fat inner circle. It's like Cathe's site but you pay for it and there are more articles to read and nutrition etc. I only did it because it was only 3 months with 1 month free. They have a 98 day contest going on but I don't know if I want to join or not. Even if I could figure out how to put up picture I'm not sure I would want it out in cyberspace forever.

Magnolia many many hugs and prayers!

I did 30/30 again today followed by a couple of minutes of pilates. I am tired. :p

Joan that sounds interesting I've never heard of it.

Magnolia- Hugs and prayers! I sure hope she gets in.

Jann- What kind of dogs are those in your avatar? They look like malamutes!

Joan- I agree with you- the contest sounds motivating but I wouldn't want my picture up there either. Did you see where the IM's that the guy who invented facebook did when he was 19 and at Harvard are still haunting him today?

I have been gardenmaxing and walking- I am going to take a light weeks- pilates later:):):) Oh- and 15 minutes of rebounding:)

Back again.

I took the photo's for the contest but I am only using them as incentive. You are supposed to take a picture every week. I am going to try to follow all of the suggestions they have. Like tell everyone what your goal is so you will be held accountable. They have a countdown calendar until the goal date. Of course you would like to be perfect but they also track your "winning streak". The number of days in a row you follow your plan.
I will need to wear GWF everyday. My goal is to lose 2 lbs a week. I know I am dreaming but that is the goal. I would like (love) to be 135lbs by Oct 1st. If I want to eat 1400 calories a day I would need to burn 2400 calories a day.

Today was 40min on treadmill. I wanted to do disc 16 today but I think I'm too tired.

Good morning,

Jann I don't know if you remember when we started I had wanted to post pictures as the before? When I compare those pictures with these I look like I have gained 20-30lbs. I am actually the same weight. I had lifted with a trainer for 3 years prior to babysitting and was always complaining because I was not losing weight. I now think I must have gained a lot of muscle and looked a lot smaller. I think I have lost all the muscle from years ago. It really makes me sad that I have wasted all this time.

I am planning to keep photo out at all times.

Good almost-noon, Y'All,

Joan, the very best of luck to you. I hope you're successful in all those goals, and I know we are all pulling for you. You can do it.

Jann, do you have dogs? I miss mine. She's been gone a long time, but I love animals, and dogs are my favorites.

Beth, next week will be my light week. I am planning to try to walk some while we are down there. I really need to walk in the sun--helps keep spirits from scraping bottom, and I need to be strong for my son, grandson, dil and her family. So this week, I am doing whatever I can to either go a little tougher or at least stay the same. Next week will take care of itself. So today I did FitPrime Metaboost, one of my favorites. I went a little heavier on the weights, and it felt good. Weather tomorrow is supposed to be warm and sunny (like today), so I am planning to attempt a 4-mile power walk in the park. We'll see.

Thanks for all of your prayers and good wishes. I hope each of you has a wonderful day.

Joan I just reread this. I do remember. I know when I am lifting regular I appear smaller. Post any picture you want... would love to "see" you.

Good almost-noon, Y'All,
Jann, do you have dogs? I miss mine. She's been gone a long time, but I love animals, and dogs are my favorites.Magnolia

No, my DS has two. I would love another dog. YORKIE is my dog of choice. I told DH one of these days while he is away on business don't be surprised if there is a little guy here when he gets home. I've looked and looked for one.

Hi, Y'all.

Jann, there's a lady who comes to the same hair salon I do who brought her "Teddy Bear Yorkie" one day. He was the cutest little guy! She said she had gotten him at a local animal shelter for $40! She told me that you can tell these shelters what kind of dog you're looking for, and they'll watch for you and let you know when one becomes available. We really want a dog, but right now just wouldn't be a very good time.

I would like to get back into CLX or STS, but I'm afraid that with things as they are, I couldn't stick to a strict rotation right now. I had planned to walk today, but some stuff came up and when I was able to get out, it was simply too hot out there. Oh, well, I'll just take this as a rest day.

I hope each of you has a great day.

hi all,

ironmom, it is an equine hospital. (horses only).

i am alive, just been so busy. and , this week has been really hard, i have been so tired and yesterday and today my acid reflux has been hurting me. but, enough whining.
this week i have done:

mon.-- back up (tracie long)
tues-- cardio sculpt blaster (old firm w/lisa kay)
today--cardio sculpt (firm)

think tomorrow is gonna be calorie killer and i may take the whole weekend off, cuz i'm so tired. gonna have the g/kids friday & sat.

Good evening,

Today's wo was 40 min on treadmill.

I'm still amazed that I had gotten so much fatter without noticing it. The more I read the better I understand it. I saw a picture of a pound of fat compared to a pound of muscle. It was 3 or 4 times bigger. I kept going by the scale and didn't see anything else. An interesting article I read reinforce the need to lose slowly. Of course that is fast for me 1-2lbs a week. It said that it takes 3500 calorie deficit to lose a pound of fat. But if you are losing muscle instead you would lose 2-3lb of muscle(it might have even been more).

Cathy I wonder if you shouldn't take a day off in the middle of the week.

Magnolia I know it will be stressful but try to enjoy the time spent with your family.

Joan

Good morning, Y'All.

Just finished Low Impact Circuit (the whole thing ). It was my first time to do all of it. I had never done all the step segments before, but it was fun and I really enjoyed it. I'm thinking I will do another full workout tomorrow, since I need to push it this week. Next week is a question, even though I am planning to take walking shoes with me just in case. Exercise helps us cope, and I am trying to take advantage of it at every opportunity.

Ladies, I hope each of you has a great day.
