Morning girls,

Quick check in for me. Today is Wed and the girls are home and we have stuff to do so I won't be around much.

This morning was GS C&T! Holy push ups. I guess I've never done that one. I knew about the drop sets but still...

Going to do seg 3 of core max and then hit the gym when Ryan gets home for a little ellip. Gotta load my ipod with good stuff!

Core max 3 done. My abs are feeling good this wee after all the core work! I am definitely going to keep it up. We are at the gym for the girls' classes but the teacher for the gym isn't here but the dance teacher is. So we will wait for ellie's class to start and then I guess Ellie and I will leave during Anna's class (that is when ellie's "baby gym" usually is).

So I am holding steady at my weight which is fine but i'd like to be down one or two more. Eats are good. Hoping to maintain them - at home will be hard. Already have two dinners out planned before Christmas!!

Ok enough rambling from me. Bbl...
 
Angie, if anything will push your weight over that hump, I think the Gym Styles is certainly it!! Also, you might try some HIIT on the treadmill or elliptical once or twice before you leave and see what happens.

Speaking of puke-factor cardio, off to the TM I go for some hills:mad::p Be back soon!:p
 
Katie, have fun with your puke factor cardio. I'm really hoping that GS will push me over that edge just by shocking my body a little bit more! Thanks for the encouragement!
 
Taking my 5 min break, I feel like I am going to die... Those hills KILLED. I am dripping sweat after just 32 minutes. Back down for another 10 or 15 mins of steady-state....

angie, i agree with katie - love love what gs did for me. i will resume them soon. have fun at the gym.

katie, how do you do your hills on your tm? i have heard so many mixed things, 1 article said just 10sec hill repeats, which is not so bad, but not so effective i think? i dunno, but you are the most well read runner, so i'd love tohear how you do it:D

good morning kate. sorry for the sleep in.

sore throat today, and a restless night. i am so sore in back, chest and shoulders from slow and heavy. i need to loosen up before i hit bis and tris later. i had a good long run this am, but it was so warm and muggy - felt like summer. eats were really good yday, so i am going to ignore the scale for a few days and focus on good healthy food. i have no excuses as we have no meals out. my dad came over for dinner last night and it was just hard. i am a bit emotional i think right now.

anyways, busy morning with aidan's 18mon checkup and errands. bbiab

Nina, for hills I keep the tm at the same speed, then bump the incline up for 1 minute then back down for 2 minutes to recover, repeat 8 times. I haven't done much reading on hill repeats - i'll add that to the 'to do' list!

Rain/freezing rain/high winds today - fun. And a bazillion clients to meet with, but the Board is meeting at lunch - Christmas Bonus decision time!! Cross your fingers and toes for me!
 
katie, good luck with the bonus. so, how high up do you put the incline? i have tried the thing you are describing but progressively increasing the incline. i really miss my hills in maine:(

robin, what did you end up buying?

what do i get my very bright 10 year old neice? i have no idea what she is into

Yday I was just buying stuff to put into their stockings like socks, colgne, but I still need a gag gift....maybe a can of tuna fish.:D

I did BM2 upperbody/abs/stretch this morning. Short & sweet !

Katie can you explain the way you are working out , or give us an example of a workout ?? I don't know what type you are doing ........with intervals a break and then steady state ??? What's that called ? How long do you do intervals??

Better sleep last night & that makes all the difference ! :)

Morning!

Snow Widow Season has officially begun! Darrin had to go out at 1 am to salt and isn't home yet:( Ah, well. It pays the bills. Cookies and Milk was fun-lots of people which meant the cookies went fast-I ate 1/2 cookie:) Came home and had cereal and a banana for dinner along with a few goldfish crackers and 4 animal crackers:eek: Today is a quiet day. I need to go get Danica an outfit for her school concert tomorrow and see if I can find something "cheesy holiday" for my sil's engagement party on Saturday:( Workout will be 4DS Chest and Back twice and abs.

Angie, I love the GS too. I agree with Katie-the heavy weights will shock your system as will the hiit which is great for whittling the middle-so I hear;)

Katie, great job on the hill sprints! I know how hard walking sprints on an incline are-can't imagine running them! Good luck on the bonus meeting-you so deserve it with all the time you put in.

Nina, Florida must be the only part of the country not getting hit by the crummy weather! Sending out some hugs. You have a lot of emotional stuff on your plate-how can you not be? Take a break from the ub-do the bis/tris tomorrow. We won't tell! For your niece-does she have an ipod? Danica's 10 and has a shuffle. She loves it! Does she like to read? I can get some book recs from Danica.

Lisa, we created an anti-bullying/character development program. The kids made anti-bullying posters and the best 3 won a prize. We put a no-bully box in the media center for kids to anonymously report incidents of bullying without fear. We have the "high 5 awards" where each month kids nominate their peers for being kind and caring andf they get an award from the principal. Then we began making lessons about character for each grade level- from caring in kindergarten to justice, purpose, etc. in 5th. The idea is to teach positive character traits so that the bullying doesn't happen in the first place. Lots of work, but well worth it!

I did get my computer at work yesterday but it was a busy day getting organized and doing my assignments. Today should be a little quieter which will give me time to fill out my benefits paperwork. No workout this morning but I am determined to do legs tonight.

Angie, I love GS and you will see a difference. I need to work on my core more too.

Hola, chicas, it's your bad check-in friend. I have not been working out or eating right lately, so don't feel worthy, but what else is new? Plus, I've become addicted to Bejeweled, so that takes up almost all of my free time now. I know, pathetic! But, don't worry, I'll be fine.

I have a ton to do at work, but I don't want to do any of it. I am so unmotivated these days. The good news? I'm going to do a song and dance at a small town library on Friday. Luckily, it's in the same small town as a private college where I have two friends. So I get to have lunch with them before my thing. I'm looking forward to that.

So since I skipped my Monday w/o I did STS Chest/Back and Shoulders, Tri Bi.....I only did 2 of the 4 sets. I forgot that I'm doing meso 3 and the weights were crazy 85% heavy. I'll feel it tomorrow.

I'm not sure what kind of w/o I'll do for the next 3 weeks. The store is having door busters sales prior to Christmas day and a "kick-the-door-down-poke-someone-in-the-eye-after Christmas sale. And it's fall on a Saturday too.:eek::rolleyes:

I may just do a core/hand weights-classical stretch rotation.

I'm not eating beans and greens soup.

Good evening girls,

Busy day with the girls. Went to the gym and sweat out an hour on the elliptical. It's kind of nice to have a change of pace. I've been hungry today and haven't had much time to eat so I'm hoping not to pig out right before bed. I had a couple of graham cracker type things as dessert. I figure it could get a lot worse.

Katie, sounds like those hills are doing their job! You'll get your results. You're rocking your WOs! What's the word on your bonus?

Nina, sorry you're not feeling well today. I think ignoring the scale for a couple of days sounds like a good idea. You are so consistent and I know you look great and are healthy.

Becky, I love short and sweet workouts. They always feel effective! Hope you're having a great day!

Klaudia, that's so awesome about your wellness committee. (Is that what it's called?) - sorry about your winter widow times. That would be so hard for me - especially with kids.
