Crazy, Strong and Loving it October 6, 2009

Hi Ladies. It's a dreary day here. My plan is to do SB and abs after work. Then I have to get packed for this trip. I am really totally stressing out about it too. I know there is a gym at the hotel, but I don't have a clue as to when I can get a chance to get in there. Also, being vegetarian, I am really not sure what meal options I will have. I am really close to having a mini-breakdown.

Didn't get up again this morning, so tonite is KCM body blast and then I need to make up kickboxing didn't get to do it last nite.

Heather-let me know where you are staying an how long you are going to be there and I will try to help you find healthy eating choices.

Roxie: You got your work cut out for you today! Maybe you could do some kind of circuit instead of 2 different workouts?

Oh, going to do some kind of abs too....
 
Today was cardio and I had a Cardio Coach workout planned but something in me made me want to do Amy's Kickbox Surge. So that's what I did. Had a great workout. The more I do this workout, the more I love it. Did all 5 kickbox combos and all 5 surges. Had a blast.

HRM kept losing my HR again. I don't get why sometimes the thing is dead on and other times it just doesn't work right. I think I burned more calories then what it showed.

HR STATS:
1 hr. 3 minutes total
5 minutes below zone
13 minutes in zone
45 minutes above zone
475 calories burned


Heather - Good luck, but it's not worth stressing over. Are you going on vacation? If so, take it easy, don't worry about the workouts and choose the best foods you can. Stressing over a vacation isn't worth it. Take it from me...
 
Roxie - I'll be staying at the Topeka Downtown Ramada on 6th Ave. I know that Thurs lunch is being catered at the Blue Cross offices; however, they don't know if there is a vegetarian option. Thurs night we're having dinner at the Kansas History Museum. Again, catered and options unknown. I'm riding in with 3 other people too so I won't have a car of my own.

Forgot to mention the weather here is chilly so bring some warm clothes.
 
Debbie - my HR monitor has been failing on me lately too. I have to stop it and restart. Annoying. I wish it was vacation that I was going on. I don't stress about vacations as long as I'm not flying. This is work related. I finally got confirmation on food choices, and there are no vegetarian offerings for either lunch or dinner on Thursday. And we'll be eating on the road Wed and Fri.

I'm sure I can scrounge up a salad, but I'll be really deficient in protein.

Roxie - I'm actually a web content specialist at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield. I work in the advertising and communication department. The conference is a web technology thing to share what other "plans" are doing. I've been checking the weather there, got my sweaters packed!

Wish we could manage to meet up. That'd be so cool.

I'm sure there will be some kind of healthy options brought in especially with the current obesity rate and the effects its having on health care. Forgot to mention the weather here is chilly so bring some warm clothes.

Debbie - I don't eat tuna. If I had a way to keep things cool for several days, I could pack my greek yogurt and some veggie patties. Maybe I can pack a jar of peanut butter at the very least and a baggie of almonds.

My job can be interesting. My BA and MA are both in Professional and Technical Writing. I worked for 8.5 years as a tech writer for an IT company. I am much happier where I am, and it's much more creative work. It does have it's highs and lows of course.

Roxie - Just going to be there tomorrow through Fri. I think Thurs I may skip the museum dinner and just try to find something close by or at the hotel.

I'm checking in again early.

Here's what I did:

KCM-30 Min to Fitness Bootcamp-Cardio only mix= 30 Min
Calories burned= 287

and

STS Meso 2 Disc#17 Legs= 47 Min
Calories burned= Approx. 365
This was hard for me when I had to use dumbells for Wide STance deadlifts, I was supposed to use #32's but I used #30's and had to go to #25's to do the remaining to sets. My right hand just could not grip using the heavier weights and dropped it. I'm blamming that on my MS a because my right side of my body is most effected by MS. I know Cathe would say to just modify and go lighter for safety, so that's what I did.

Ok, I'm exhausted and ready to hit the shower. Great job on the workouts today. You guys are my heroes keep up the great job~;)
