yesterday was core synergistics. It was a nice workout, sort of circuit style. Time was 45 min and I burned 489 calories. Eats were ok yesterday. I have a sore throat-which I'm certain is allergy related given the time of year, but other than that all is well. Today I need to run and do some yoga.

Work is going to be pure hell again today. Yeah me.

Today was cardio and I chose Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing. This is the 2nd time I've done this and honestly, I don't like it. It's boring. I did the kickbox intervals with the body bar intervals. The body bar intervals brought my HR down to almost resting. Weird. And the kickboxing segments only brought my HR up as high as 128 bpm. I skipped the last body bar segment because I ran out of time. Still burned a lot of calories and I guess for an easy day this is a good workout. I like Kimberly, she's a good teacher, but her kickboxing stuff is way easy.

I still can't believe I burned that many calories. This is a good workout if you don't want HIIT.

Theresa - Go into your User CP and choose Edit Signature. Look at the box with the signature in it. There are two html lines for each ticker. Delete one and save the signature box. You may have to sign out and then sign back in for the changes to take effect.
 
Yeah !!! Thanks Debbie. That is a pretty good calorie burn despite the intensity level. Have you tried any of Kelley Coffey-Meyer's aerobics? The step boxing is pretty fun and you can adjust the insensity level. Her style takes a minute to get but she is pretty good.

No, I've never done any of her stuff. I've heard good things about her, though.
 
My workout this morning was Kelly Coffey's 30 Minutes to Fitness Bootcamp cardio session (I just jogged in place through the stretch) Then I did 30 Minutes to Fitness Cardio Blast Plyo no warm up which was 30 minutes :)
I also jogged through the stretch art of this one, I followed with 10 minute solution 5 day get fit with Amy intervals using 8# dumbbells, and finished with Rumble stretch 14 min.. I also jogged while waiting for dvd's to load. Total calories burned was 841 and workout was 1 hr and 26 minutes. Max HR was 167 fat burned was 25%.
This workout was pretty good. I burned 654 in 1 hr doing the plyo blast and bootcamp cardio together. Just felt like adding on a little more with the 10 minute solution.

Debbie, I burn a decent amount of calories doing Absolute Kickbox . I believe with the abs and whole workout it is over 500 calories. I like it for days when I don't want a lot of impact but to still burn a some calories. Her Cardio Combat Surge kickbox segments are similar to absolute kickbox but the combat and med ball segments bring the hr up. I did this the other day and it got my hr up to 161 and for 73 minutes and 554 calories it wasn't bad for not having lots of impact.

Theresa, I have had something going on with the scratchy throat and coughing. I think it may be a combo of cold and allergies though. Nice calorie burn with Core Synergistics. I never did care for that workout that much. Not sure why.
 
Debbie - I agree with you on the Absolute Kickboxing. I usually save that one for days I just don't want to go all out and go want a whole lot of impact. Like DianeSue said Kimberly Combat Cardio Surge does get the HR up a bit more still on the less intense side.


This morning was Strikezone skipping the pushups in Strike 9 and just doing planks (chest is fried from yesterday). Workout was 57 minutes and I burned 439 calories.

Interesting that I worked TRi's on Friday and they are STILL sore!:D

I'm off today, but I slept in way too long. I did Stephanie Vittorino's Ultimate Body Shaping Workout - High Step Portion followed by 10" Solutions Hip Hop x 2 segments. My heartrate did not get up that high and I didn't have a stellar workout. Workout was 70" and I burned 620 calories. Max HR was 154. I only had time for a 15" yoga segment. I still need more stretching.

Deb - I find Kimberly's stuff a bit on the lower HR side, but if you REALLY put your all into it to get your HR up. I usually use hand weights for the non weighted segments also which helps. I've gotten pretty decent workouts with her in the past....so I wouldn't give up on it yet. Get down lower when you punch and really put your body into it to help jack your HR up. Better yet, imagine that you're beating someone that irritates you to the point they deserve a good beating and then let them have it! Works for me all of the time!! LOL.

Have great workouts everyone. I've got errands to run. My only day off this week.
 
Linda, you must have really worked your triceps for them to still be sore!

Lora, that's a bummer about just one day off--I hope, despite the errands, you still get time to relax.

I haven't tried the Kimberly Spreen tape you guys are mentioning, although I'm pretty sure I have it...the cover is reddish/orangish, I believe. CIA was having a sale a while back and I got it then. I've done the abs but not the main workout.


For today I did cardio, and I decided I should do Amy's Advanced Step Challenge because I've done it enough to more or less learn it, but not completely learn it. I did combos 1-3, with a bit of rewinding, and the first power up. I'm going to keep doing this one regularly so I can get the choreography. I had a pretty good time despite not knowing it perfectly, so it should be pretty fun to get the choreo down. I definitely got my heart rate up, even without having the choreo completely down.
