~*~*SEPT 09 CHECK-IN for The (Party) Weekend 9/12 & 9/13~*~*

So I got up with a mild headache. I can SO feel it in my sinus on the left side. I Neti Potted, I showered, I had caffeine, ate breakfast & took an Excedrin and a Tylenol. This thing better LEAVE! Why today????

If I thought I had had the time, I would have done a cardio, after my first cup of coffee, but I just can't. My day is FULL.

The day looks damp/cloudy... but no steady rain, so I guess we'll take it!

Hey..Maybe a Corona Light with lime will help my head!?!?! :eek:

And OMG, I felt my butt and thighs ALL day yesterday after P57! Not so much this morning, but I can't remember getting crampy/achey the same day after a leg workout. Good stuff !( I think!)

My plan is to do a good cardio tomorrow (after what goes in my mouth today, I'm sure I'll need a good one). Probably will do SB, I haven't done that in a LONG time. And then on Monday, start STS , IF I still have STS buddies left!!!

Beth: Glad you found awkward family photos amusing! I'm glad you have my sense of humor! I showed greg, and he was just like, "Ya. Ok. So. that is weird". Men, huh?

HI everyone!!

Glad to be back..We had a great time yesterday at Bush Gardens. It turned out to be a beautiful day yesterday! The kids had a blast riding rides and watching the shows. We did not get on any of the roller coasters. The kids are a little nervous of them. Lauren had wanted to try the Apollo's Chariot roller coaster. But, she changed her mind. She doesn't travel well and was feel a little tired and yucky....We did ride the log flume and got drenched...Wednesday and Thursday we had originally planned the beach. Well, as you remember the rain kept us home Tuesday. Wednesday we got there around 3:30 and decided it was too late to head to the beach (and they called for rain) so we ended up relaxing. The kids went swimming in the hotel pool. Thursday we headed to the beach. It was really overcast and rain threatened. The whole day was dreary. It rained off and on while we walked along the beach. The winds were crazy hard. But, the kids have fun and found some shells. That afternoon we had lunch and went back to the hotel and let the kids swim some more and we watched a couple of movies (since it was raining). I am happy that we got nice weather Friday though. It was worth it and the kids and adults had a great time despite the weather!! The kids fighting was minimal too!! YEAH!! It was worth it for that alone..haha

Anyway, took Thursday resting and Friday we walked alot at Bush Gardens..Today I am going to try to get a cardio and weight type workout in. Not sure what yet. Tomorrow a cardio. Monday (yes I am still in Chris and Beth and whoever wants too) it will be STS Disc 1. I pulled out my copy of Cathe's rotation with the cardio and will follow that for cardio suggestions..I may change them sometimes. But, it is a good suggestion. I hate thinking of my own to do..

I plan to really work hard at my eating now that vacation is over. I was eating everytime I turned around last week (or so it seemed) and I am up a couple of pounds. So, I am hoping to put good eating into effect while doing STS and see what happens..That is my plan anyway. Hope I can stick to it. So far today so good (haha it is only 10:20) But, I am being positive...

Chris: Hope your partying is really good today and that headache takes a hike!! Enjoy yourself and your rest (well kinda rest) day. Hard to rest with so much going on!!

Joanne: How is Jameson? I scanned through yesterday's post and I think I read he was home? I hope he is better. I am going to try and find time today to read the posts I missed..

Ok, I am going to get my butt in gear and workout..I didn't have a chance to get on the internet while in the hotel. So, I am going to try and find time to read the posts I missed. Hope everyone is doing well! Chris has a game today and Lauren has choir practice and then mass tonight..So, those things and unpacking will keep me pretty busy today...
 
Party on, dude!!! I hope it's a really fun weekend for all of the birthday kids! Chris, so sorry about your headache!! Perhaps you should start with that Corona early, but then you may have a bigger (different) headache tomorrow! ;) Are you working tonight?

Yeah, I know Larry would have howled at some of those family photos, but he just didn't have the patience to look through them, so he was unimpressed, too.

You know I've been sick of my cardio.... thought I might run this morning, but it's hot here and I woke up at 5:00, it's still dark and Larry doesn't want me running when it's getting light (mountain lions, oh my!), but I wanted to get it done before it gets too hot. So..... I did the step only portion of SJP followed by the cardio only portion of HST -- it was a good combo! Followed by a nice long stretch -- total of 1 hour, 10 minutes. I find it so amusing that I ordered the strength work from KCM, not the cardio, and here I am only able to do cardio. At the time I ordered, it felt like we might have shock cardio this fall, so I didn't think I would need it. I may break down and order, we'll see..... I guess I should get my cardio fix from netflix maybe. There are some yogas I want to try for the shoulder/back/neck.

Ok, I've been working on this post forever with many long interruptions for snuggling -- Dylan, Larry, and Gina! Enough of this..... I will send it on......
 
morning, so my hand is in a splint which is good and I'm supposed to rest it. It feels a ton better than yesterday but I may want to avoid BM2 and just do another day of cardio. I would even consider joe's insane proposal of his 4DS Cardio Challenge where you do all the cardio back to back for two hours if the KB and bootcamp workouts didn't require my right hand. oh i ate like crap yesterday...pizza and chinese food...both of which are still in my house today. we'll see how i do...

Chris -- don't forget to enjoy yourself!
 
Kathy -- the kids don't like rollercoasters!?!? Awwww...I love them. It sounds like you had an awesome vacation!

Beth -- snuggling is an awesome and acceptable interruption. :) I don't like Joe running in the dark either but our street has lights and no mountain lions (and he has a dog that's part pit bull with him). Ohh too funny - my friend was at my house moving her stuff out and into her car when she was done so she called me at work to see when I was coming home while she waited out traffic. While we're talking, some guy came at the door selling security systems (as I'm telling my friend that oh, there was a robbery not too far away so they're scoping the area to see who they can scam) and Evee scared the living crap out him. I love her! I love the fact she's so pretty and she's loyal like a lab, fast like a greyhound, but has the mouth and scary ass bark of a pitbull.

man sometimes i hate saturdays. Joe was being a big meanie in the morning and wouldn't help me at all so he could have this workout and since my hand is in a splint everything is slower so I couldn't get my workout in before my friend came to help us finish painting the bedroom. I'm not really helping them with the painting but I feel weird if I were to go workout with a guest...so I'm waiting for him to leave! I've been cleaning and helping when I can all day a slowly. It's been relaxing at least...hope everyone has had a more productive saturday!
 
Hey Girls!

I made it!

After I got outside I started to feel a little better. And actually ended up having a TON of fun (see pictures on FB!!). The rain held out , until 7p, the time I told everyone to come back for their kiddos, though Zach talked me into having one of his buddies sleep over. whatever. I am pooped though!

Kathy: Sounds like a great vacation, in spite of the rain! Kids really don't care if it rains or not, I swear. It won't wreck THEIR good time, right? And it they have fun, then WE have fun!... I'm in with STS on Monday. I looked at cathe's STS rotation too, I will probably try to follow it as well. I looked at next week and SB is on it, so I'll have to figure out something else for tomorrow.... Maybe IM2???

Beth: the Coronas helped nice. I'm soooo tired tonight though. I swear, I felt all hungover-ish all day with the headache thingie. Now I'm exhausted, like the end of a hangover. Those college days of heavy drinking are back to haunt me! Your cardio today sounds like a good combo too! nice on the stretch!...That sand art was pretty amazing!! the things people do, holy moly!

Hottie: YOu're in a splint? have you ever had a wrist boo-boo before? is this an old war injury? you sure you can do STS on Monday , girl ?? There are a motherload of push-ups in it!! I did end up enjoying myself. Got some good family visiting in with my brother and sister and mommy. laughed WICKED hard! ... that damn Joe for screwing up your saturday!!! and that splint! ...and the painting friend! ..at least you did relax, you've had a crazy week!!

Almost time for 2 of my boys to go to bed (they're busy putting together birthday legos!)
 
Chris -- I've never had a wrist boo boo before. sometimes my hand has hurt but I'm pretty aware of my body so I'm surprised it got this bad. If you're up, do you think I should sleep in it? I wonder if its my sleep that's screwing up. My friend left, the bedroom looks gorgeous (it's shade lighter and a slightly different hue), but no workout for me. it's fine..the only think I really could have done was elliptical with my hand bugging me. Hopefully tomorrow will be fine....yay to awesome partying!

I looked again at the STS rotation, and I must have been looking at MESO 2 w/ SB in it. MESO 1 has IM2 on Tuesday!

So I'm going to go try to crank out SB, we'll see how far I can get!

Good morning! Chris, it looks like the party was a success -- I'll bet you're exhausted today -- no work last night, I hope, right?! I have IM2 on my calendar for tomorrow -- I wonder if I somehow did what you did? I'm going to go ahead and do it since I already wrote it down. There's going to be much crossing out on my calendar since I wrote in all the STS workouts. I think I only went out about a month with the cardio since I hoped shock cardio might show up by then! :)

Joanne, how was the party on your end? How's Jameson? Everyone else healthy still -- well, how's your cough?

Kathy, I was so surprised to see you post yesterday -- somehow I didn't expect you back so soon. Does sound like you guys made the best of it and had a good time. Nice!

Hottie, I can't believe Joe's idea of the 4DS cardios all back to back -- what a calorie burner that would be! I want to try it sometime now, but holy cow -- that's a lot. Have you guys ever done it? I think 4DS cardio is really going to be my friend -- I think in this next month I'll be doing a lot of short cardio with a lot of stretching. I did some searching and ended up ordering that Debbie S's (of Slim Series fame) Total Body Solution dvd. I guess you're supposed to do it every other day for a month. We'll see how that goes. I talked to my friend who hurt her shoulder and she said she laid off for two weeks and that was good for her, but... given this sort of re-lapse that is in some ways worse than it felt before, I am going to try to go at least three weeks with no upper body. Hottie, it's true -- those pushups in meso 1 are not going to be your friend at all if you're having wrist issues -- you may have to skip them.

Ok, so what did I do this morning?! A crazy mix of barre work -- lots of seat stuff -- some waist & abs work (though even the ab work aggravated my neck/upper back, so I didn't do much) and stretching.

Yesterday afternoon I was feeling very low energy and then I don't know what hit me but the energy came back and I started doing the kind of cleaning that I always avoid.... you know, throwing out stuff! Whenever the kids clean up their stuff, they really just stack things up that really ought to be thrown away. I tend to not see that kind of mess after the initial cringe, and I just started going through all of it.... I got rid of so much junk -- I love that! I'm hoping I can do a little more of that today, though we do have people coming over later.

Got through SB! WOWSERS! Haven't done that one in a while! I was drenched at the end!!! Burned some of that crap food I ate yesterday big time. I didn't "pig out" per se, but picked all day at unhealthy stuff. I should have planned healthier alternatives, but I just didn't feel like putting that much effort into it, since the kids want all the OTHER stuff, and it was all about the kids. God, I hadn't had a REAL (icky) hotdog in forEVER. If I eat one (rarely), it's usually the turkey dogs or the fat free ones. But I had to have one, since my mom made her famous "kapusta" (cabbage/sauerkraut and rib meat..actually pretty healthy, considering). So I HAD to put it on a DOG. It was GOOD! But my tummy is telling me about it today. LOL!

I just feel like chilling today, until I have to go into work tonight. Just one night this weekend. (No WAY I could have gone in last night!....I had pre-requested it off).

Beth: The STS rotation of MESO 1 DOES have IM2 this week. SO you're right! Since I took my rest day yesterday, I did a cardio today (that was part of last week's really). Tomorrow I'll start the STS Meso 1 Rotation. I will sub in runs for the cardio as the weather permits though. ...what is Debbie Siebers Total Body Solution? Is it light weights? Or barre-like work? ... I'm glad you've decided to rest your shoulder good. You don't want to keep having it hurt. Plus, if it DOESNT feel better after 3 weeks, you can THEN see a doctor about it. Otherwise, he'd just tell you to rest it..for 3 weeks (or more!), right? ... It always feels SO good to get that kind of cleaning done! It's like "purging". I have SO much of that to do. Maybe I can concentrate on it more since the party planning is over!

Oh Hottie! I missed Joe's 4DS Cardio Challenge! Holy *#*%, that is CRAZY!. Not sure I COULD do it. What order would you do them? I think I'd save the steps for the last 2, because I'd be too wiped out to do KB/BC by the end.

So, Beth, will you keep the STS rotation cardio that's on your calendar or are you going to do something TOTALLY different for the next 3 weeks?

Joanne: I hope you had a good party yesterday for Caitlyn and that Jameson is doing better. Are YOU feeling better? You are on antibiotics too , no?

The boys have the jousting thing until tomorrow or maybe even Tuesday. They have the kids in the neighborhood playing on it now!
 
SB is so much fun.... ok, you should rest the remainder of the day -- between all the excitement and that hot dog, your body needs it! :p!

That total body solution thing is not a workout, but a rehabilitative kind of thing -- from what I gather, it may be exercises they'd give you in physical therapy. I figured it's worth a try. Apparently it's 15 minute segments for areas like neck, shoulder, back, knees -- not sure if there's a fifth one.

Yes, I'm planning to loosely follow the meso 1 cardio ideas, with some subs (like running). You make me want to do SB again -- I'll bet it's in there somewhere, so I'll have a chance.

That jousting thing rocks -- I bet all the kids are having a blast!

Ok, back to cleaning for me......

Been busy today with laundry and cleaning up. I hit the grocery store this afternoon too..Workout today was Amy Bento Hi/lo Xtreme...Great sweaty mess after that one!

Ok, I am ready for STS tomorrow...I will be doing those cardio suggestions..

Beth: Loved the sand art video! Awesome what some can do. We saw an artist show at Bush Gardens. The guy painted on stilts..As he was painting the picture, we were all trying to figure out what he was painting. Then when he is almost done he turns it upside down and it was a painting of Ray Charles..Just amazing!

Chris: Glad the birthday party was a hit and way to go on SB today. I almost did that one too. But, decided to try some of my other videos..

HI Hottie: Are you doing STS with us?

Ok, along with starting STS tomorrow, I am going to try to clean up my eating...Tomorrow is a new day!!!Yeah!!
 
Kathy, did the guy use the stilts to paint, or he was just on them? I'm having a hard time picturing it -- sounds like fun though. It is amazing what some people can do!

Beth: Thanks for explaining the Debbie Siebers series! I understand now! Did you read that OD thread about rehabbing? I go over there when I have a few minutes, and I just happened to today, and saw that long and involved thread, and alot of it was about shoulder injury! ... Yes, the kids are STILL on the jouster! They come off drenched in sweat! A good workout for them!

Kathy: I'm with you. I really want to clean up my eating and get even better results from STS than last time. We can do this!!!!! Good job on your cardio today!!! tomorrow, DISC 1 ..!!!!
