Yesterday was shoulders and arms from p90x, then a 20 min run/walk-total calories were 1018. eats were ok yesterday except for the lunch that was brought in. I did have chips and a cookie. I'm a sucker for both of those. Tonight is KenpoX. DH and I are going to paint our bedroom this weekend-FINALLY !!!! so I will not have a lot of time for w/o this weekend.

Hope everyone has a great morning.

Lora-I just saw your post from yesterday. It's too bad about Lancome, they have fabulous stuff. Fragrance school sounds like it was very fun. Hope your sales per hour turn around :)

Morning Maniacs -

I posted this last night in response to yesterday's thread:

Theresa and Linda - Yes, I'm working a little over 50 hours this week....crazy schedule!

Fragrance school goes over all of the new fragrances coming out for the upcoming season, notes, info behind the designers who create them. We watched a really cool Christian Audigier fashion show that was extremely edgy. I loved it. Christian is the designer behind the Ed Hardy brand (Ed being the tattoo artist). Christian's fragrance just came out and I love it. It's blackberry, tangerine, coconut, some flowers and a base of amber. It smells yummy. I think we're gonna do a Christian Audigier runway show in our department after we launch it. Ed Hardy is also coming out with makeup sets this season -- which should be fun. Mostly it's like advertisements for the brands and you learn a lot about the people that create them (like stated above) and what they were trying to convey when they created it. It helps you sell it.

Anyway, speaking of work, I'm bummed cuz there is an opening in Lancome and I asked my bipolar boss about transferring (cuz that's what I ultimately want is to do makeup- but you have to work in fragrance first). However, I can't transfer cuz my sales-per-hour is not high enough. I'm 3 freakin points away from where I need to be....so they will hire from the freakin" outside!! Life is just not righteous!!!

ETA: Speaking of this situation - I'm not sure if I should go above my manager's head (cuz she hates me and will do everything in her power NOT to promote me) and mention something to the Store Manager. My numbers are sooo close it's not funny. At my last review, my numbers were VERY close and my Manager was going to cut my pay and put me on "probation" if you will, but the big boss stepped in and reversed it cuz he said it was too close for comfort. This happened one week after she said it was getting cut and I had been praying about it. I don't know if I should let this play out like it does, or push it on my end a bit more. I don't want to come across as a trouble-maker/whiner, but I want to make sure I do my "foot work" so that God works it out like it is mean to be. Does that make sense?

This morning I did Pump, Kick & Jab followed by Prevention Cardio Turnaround with Chris Frey. Workout was 70" and I burned 584 calories.

Diane Sue - Have you ever taken Magnesium, Gingko Biloba or Evening Primrose Oil for your migraines? I had the dude at GNC research natural migraine cures for me and these items were some of the things listed. I bought all of them (LOL) to try. The Primrose Oil is supposed to be balancing for the hormones....thus good for menopause...so I thought that would help with a lot of the mental whacky stuff I'm feeling.....etc. Just wanted to know if you've ever tried any of them or read about anything like this?

Have great workouts everyone.

Sorry for the long post today....but this stuff is tormenting my brain today...as I'm hormonal.

Today was cardio and tomorrow starts my active recovery week. I think it's suppose to be active, anyways. I'll probably do some yoga and cardio next week. I'll take Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Tomorrow starts our vacation.

Today I did a Steady State Pace on my treadmill. Jammed to some awesome tunes and got my HR to around 130 bpm and held onto that. Was sweating like crazy.

Then I did the Ab work from Step, Jump & Pump. Love that one but its really hard to do when a kitten is attacking my arm. Little shit. I also did the stretch from SJ&P.

HR STATS for Cardio Only:
39 minutes total
4 minutes below zone
12 minutes in zone
23 minutes above zone
2 miles travelled
291 calories burned

Lora - I say go above her head. What a wench! I honestly don't think there could be any reprecussions of losing your job if she finds out. I'd definitely go that route or better yet, write the higher up dude a letter. Good luck, Lora. You so don't deserve that shit.

One other thing about the job thing that is preventing me from going over her head is that technically, I'm not next in line to promote, but the girl in Men's fragrance is...but she got a pay cut at her last review, so her numbers are slightly under mine. She already has a real attitude and is out for blood and wants in Cosmetics so badly that I've heard her make threatening accusations that nobody else better get promoted before her....and this would cause a great deal of conflict with her if I were to get promoted. I don't need that crap in my life either! venting...............thanks for listening.

Deb - how many cardio days a week are you doing? I know you are doing STS and one yoga....so I was just curious. I'm thinking about playing with STS soon.

I have been doing 2 - 1 hour sessions, 1 - 1/2 hr. session. On the day I do the 1/2 session I try to get some yoga and ab work in. The yoga is kind of taking a back seat right now.

Today my baby turned 30:eek: The birthday party will be at her house tonight. Her DH is supposed to be doing everything.
Work out today was kind of a mix. I got my new 10 minute solution with Amy Bento 5 day get fit workout. So I started with the interval segment which was cardio intervals that built intensity for about 1 minute then light weight segments for about 30 seconds, I then did the Kickbox segment, followed with the abs that was a little over half standing moves similar to kettlebell moves with a dumbbell followed by floor work, I then repeated the interval segment with 8# dumbbells (first time was with 5's)this was 44 minute total and I burned 302 calories, I then jumped on the treadmill and did some intervals with some 8 & 9mph 30 second sprints for 36 minutes 3 miles and burned 346 calories . I had to leave for the schools so when I got back I put on my weighted gloves and did the Kickbox segment again 10 min and 98 calories, did Sts stability ball abs, and finished with the power yoga segment that was basic yoga moves like down dog, cobra, warriors.
Total calories burned was 916 40% fat
I liked this dvd. Still haven't done the strength segment. I did preview it and I think it will be good too. I will try it out on a weight day:) I think my calorie burn could have been better but I was getting the moves down and dodging my grandbaby who kept wanting to bounce around my feet and dragging equipment out into the middle of my workout space:eek: This is why I get up at 4:30.

Lora, good luck with your job situation. I hope soon you will get to do makeup. I know you have always had a passion for that. The fragrance school sounds pretty interesting. I priced some of the Ed Hardy clothes before. They are extremely expensive. But some of it is pretty cool looking. Now I keep thinking maybe I shouldn't wear t shirts with pictures. I was looking at some in the store 1 day and mentioned that I could only wear the small and extra small and my grandson made comment that that must be why I always wear teenager clothes with pictures because I couldn't buy bigger sizes:confused:
I have taken magnesium for years. Not sure if it really helps the migraines but it does help with other things. My doctor had me start taking it with my extra calcium supplements. I have never taken evening of primrose but have read good things about it for skin and joints. As far as Ginko I started avoiding most herbal preparations because they sometimes are the same as meds and can conflict with them. DD has told me stories about people that have almost died taking them. Also since they are not really controlled it is easy for people to overdose thinking that they are natural so it doesn't matter. The only one I have that I have tried more recently was echanacea but I think it aggravates my allergies.

Lora - What a pickle you are in! But I would at least ask for the job, because I have learned that no one just hands you anything, you have to stand up for yourself. Also if you have to "serve time" in fragrance, how can they fill the position from the outside?

Debbie - Yes it's suppose to be an active recovery week. Although my last workout is tomorrow and next week is looking like a wash out at this point.

Still feeling pretty lousy, but had that feeling this morning that maybe if I got some endorphins kicking I'd feel better. Didn't quite work that way. I took it real easy though. I did the w/u & step segment from S,P & J and the Step only premix from LM alll on a 6" step and I did not put a whole lot of energy into it. Still managed to burn 414 calories and it took about 1 hour.

Not sure how I am going to manage Disc 24 tomorrow?:(:(:(

Linda - Oh I feel so bad for you!!! I sure hope whatever it is you have is gone soon. So next week is your recovery week? If so, just take it easy until that bug is gone.

FYI about Char - She got a full time job and now works 9-5. She doesn't have much time to post anymore. I just wanted to let you all know for her.

I came back to mention that I also did some ab moves with the door anchor with my new superband. A friend sent me the dvd she bought from Perform Better and I tried it with the kneeling crunch and one move of crunches with back to the door in a lunge type stretch doing the crunches. This dvd will give me more ideas for using the superband:) The grandbaby didn't like the door closed so I guess I will try some other stuff later LOL

Linda, I am so sorry you are not feeling well. Do you think it is a virus? I have been having something going on myself and keep pushing to keep going. I thought it was allergies and new allergy meds that but it seems to be hanging on:confused: I quit taking the meds to see if it would help.
I hope you get over it quick so you can finish up this cycle of sts.

Debbie
- Thanks! Yup, next week is my rest week. Suppose to do cardio on Saturday, but at this point I will just be happy to finish Meso 2 tomorrow! And there are chin ups in tomorrow's workout.

DianeSue - You will have to let us know more about the bands. Sorry to hear you are not feeling so great yourself. But for me this definitely a virus. Bunch of people at our church had it and then DS ended up with and now he has passed it to me. Aahh, the joys of motherhood! Only have one more workout tomorrow to finish Meso 2, sure hope I can do it! Suppose to coach DD's soccer team tonight - 20 screaming 4-6 year olds! I think I need a nap!:p

Lora,

my work is being a pain right now too; why does it have to be that way??? ugh! I think, personally, if I were in your position, I'd ask for the promotion but in a way to not imply resentment to the manager that denied it. I'm sure any employer wants committed employees, so I'd present it as cosmetics being an intriguing area that I'd be really excited to be a part of. As for the men's fragrance girl, I would just totally steer clear of her, and should you ever come in contact with her, be super civil, proper, etc, that way, if she ever does make trouble for you, no one will be able to impugn *your* conduct. I really hope you get the promotion! Keep praying about it!

Yesterday's workout was the calves and abs from 4DS (I think it's on the low impact step workout), and then legs from 4DS. Later tonight I'll go to yoga class.

I am getting the children ready to go to their parent's house for my dd's birthday party. Was sure tempted to stop for fast food but came home and made a pasta dish with the Barilla Omega 3 pasta, sunflower kernals, sundried tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. Grandson needed a bunch of parmesan cheese on his:D Anyway that is a lot of carbs but I did great the rest of my meals and it is better than the fast food.

Debbie, thanks for giving us the heads up on Charlotte's job.

Linda, I used to pride myself in never getting sick. Then a lot of years of doing daycare and dealing with what my own children brought in from school and I was sick a lot:confused: Now it is grandchildren LOL

Sigh...I was on my way to yoga class today and the traffic was soooo horrible. I knew I'd be half an hour late, so I turned around and came home. I did MTV Power Yoga, which is a cool dvd, but not as cool as a live class.
