Cardio Coach V7!!!

I just ran on the TM to CCV7 for the first time! This one is simply fantastic!

I really loved the layout - switching between steady state and recovery at three minute intervals was a great way to wake up, and the switching between hill climbs and sprints was the perfect ratio and perfect length! I was able to stay in my heart rate zones.

I can't believe 60 minutes, 6 miles went by so fast! I almost want to go do it again!

Love it!

:D

Isn't it awesome!!!???

Vol. 7 was my first Cardio Coach workout and it made me turn my life around! I love all his workouts but I always grab vol. 7 if I have a lousy day and it always makes me feel better.

6 miles, huh? That's pretty fast. You go girl!

I have a love-hate relationship with Vol 7  I love to hate it LOL!! I do it on the stationary bike and my legs are just fried

I didn't buy that one on sale... now I am wanting it!

Fit Fairy Do you like doing CC on the bike? I have a training unit that creates resistance on my regular bike (so you stay in one spot) but I have only done it with CC 2 as I was afraid that I would get bored.

Heather - I've done CCv7 on a bike (recumbent) and it's definitely NOT boring. Fries my legs, too.

I want to try it the dreadmill, but I'm kinda askeered.

Heather, the workouts are on sale again! The more you buy, the greater the discount. I think you get 20% off if you buy 1 download, up to 50% off if you buy the whole series.

I do stationary bike only cause I have to for now. But the only way I can do it is with CC. Before I got CC I was ready to get off the bike in less than 5 minutes  Now I actually enjoy the workouts. Well Vol 7 is a burner, but it feels good when I'm done LOL!!

Catherine, ITA! I only tried CC on a bike one time and it about killed me! Right now I'm working on running, but at some point I want to start incorporating the bike into my workouts. It's my dream to one day take Sean's spin class! :D

Eek !!! is right! my god my legs would be fried too - I do CCV 1, 2 or 3 on the stationery bike - 30-40 minutes is my max on the bike. I sweat like crazy, my legs are on fire, but I can't get my heart rate to stay up in the orange zone - what's up with that?

Hey Heather - did you see that they are also available as instrumentals only!? This might be perfect for you.:D

This is my concern too... not being able to keep up my heart rate. I went for a ride yesterday and I could get it into the low end of red when I was really really pedaling hard but otherwise it stayed in the green for me. I was either all out or low steady state. When I last used CC on my bike the resistance trainer I didn't wear my heart rate monitor... dumb.

I am trying to get my plantar fasciitis better so I am only letting my self ride and do plyo stuff... no step or running for a while... I am not sure that it will last for long but my foot is starting to feel a lot better.

Do you guys use CC outside? What if you hit a hill when it is a steady state time or how do you deal with no hill when it's hill climb time?

Heather

I have no problem getting my HR up and keeping it up on the stationary bike with CC.

ETA: I really have to push through the burn in my legs to keep the HR up!!

cardio coach

We have a spin bike in our basement gym and I do Cardio Coach on that - just like the spin classes I used to go to before my gym closed. I also will do a different volume on the treadmill after the bike to take advantage of the running sprints (yikes). I love Cardio Coach!

I used CC7 to train for my century ride this weekend (100 miles). I crank up the resistance on the 3 minutes hard and don't let my hr drop below 125 (my max is 170) on the 3 minutes at level 2. Then I crank it back up on the hill/sprint combos. It helped me become a much better cyclist and to sustain a higher heart rate for longer (I did push it a bit more than he suggests, but I was training to a purpose - I have a 3 mile climb where parts have a 20% grade. I needed the hill work).

For those of you who ride yet don't feel you get the burn - I'm curious - are you riding flats or hills? There are all sorts of ways to really work without pushing so hard you're gasping. Two things to work on - cadence - steady state spins - trying to keep a cadence of 80 to 90 rpm on flats and finding the appropriate gear so that you're keeping your hr at a reasonable level (mid-to-high level 2 or low level 3) but moving pretty quickly - is a great skill to have. And of course, the dreaded hills. I discovered by accident that I prefer to ride an area that at least has rollers because I like the breaks. :p I did a 50 mile ride that was completely flat and my legs were killing me after it because I was pedaling the whole time.

Awesome! Due to all of the enablers here (you know who you are ;) ) I took the plunge and purchased 3 of the Cardio Coach workouts-4,7,& 8. Sounds like the 7is a good deal...that's up in the morning!

You'll love it! Report back Julie!!! :D:D

Thanks for mentioning CC7. I did it this morning for the first time on my stationary bike. I loved it!!! The time went by so fast.

Nancy - You'll love Volume 7. The music ROCKS and propels you through the workout. How did 6 go?

Julie - You got some great workouts! Volume 4 is an oldie but a goody! I even love the coach's notes and listen to them every time I do the workout. I have a healthy respect for Volume 8. That one is by far the most difficult for me. I do it on an elliptical and getting through the final challenge is a sure indication that one is fit and strong!

Lorrie - Before Cardio Coach I never realized how much fun cardio could be! The time really does fly by. It's amazing to me, it really is!

Enjoy your workouts, ladies!! :D
